Sandra, Me too. It hasn't really hit me yet that this is forever, not a yo yo fad diet that I'll eventually gain back. But it is, it's real and here to stay! Hooray! Cindy

Sue11, A Mexican cruise sounds great, what a nice reward for all of your hard work, nice treat! Wish I could talk my husband into one (he has no desire to go on a cruise). Maybe he and I could go to Antigua!! Sandra, Yea for Size 14, I can't wait. Good for you and even better, you're not considered a pile anymore! Don't worry about the shape, my hope is that that will figure itself out. Melissa, Congrats on the eliptical. Doesn't it feel good to accomplish something that is so hard for us! Keep up the great work. Ragdoll, Good for you on the workout. My goodness, but a trainer must be nice. Really works your butt off I bet, and makes you accountable. Maybe that would be a good push at my house, something is definitely needed here! PS..I wish I had a friend who no longer needed her Size 14s and shopped at the Gap! Nice incentive. Weazer, how nice that that coworker noticed. I bet you walked on your toes for the rest of the day! Makes you gear up and stick to something that much harder. Hope I didn't forget anyone, everyone's done SO well, just wanted to give you all a pat on the back. YEA US!!!! Cindy

Melissa Exactly. Before I would have eaten the whole "whatever", whereas now I'm satisfied with just a few of something. Oh, and I love that saying, it is perfect. Oh, NSV, I went out and bought a pair of size 16 jeans, (I was a very tight 20 before, I probably should have been a 22 but I refused to buy them). The Size 16 jeans fit great, and I also bought a pair of Size 14 to look forward to. I just hate to spend a lot of money, knowing that soon (hopefully), I'll be moving into yet another smaller size. It was at the point though that I had to, I looked like a clown! I'm not complaining at all, mind you! I love it, keep it coming. The band is my new best friend! Cindy

Melissa that is so true. We are all so hard on ourselves, especially now since the banding. I think modification is the key, and the band should be helping us with that aspect (I hope). At least I find myself eating less of the "bad" foods than I did before. I have been straying off lately, but before banding, it would have been so much worse. I can now just get right back on track. Good luck everyone, you're all doing awesome. Cindy

Well, I finally got to Linens n things and bought a scale. I am so discouraged. Darn but I gained 4 pounds since Sunday. (although I weighed myself in the am on Sunday, and tonight was after dinner, after eating and drinking my 64 ozs for the day, so maybe that would account for a pound or two? Bummer, I was so close to onderland (200) on sunday. Oh well, back to the grind. Funny, I really thought it would have gone down seeing as how I started on the eliptical again on Monday. Oh well, thanks for listening. Cindy

Oh Sue, Sorry I forgot to answer, I got carried away! The fill was not bad at all, he does it in the office. You lie on the exam table with a pillow under your back, he gives you a shot to numb the area, then fills the port. It takes less than 5 minutes. Then he walks out to the lobby with you where he makes sure you can drink some water without any problem. And as always, he wants you to call if you have any problem whatsoever. PS I hope you're feeling better after your "stuck" episode. Not fun. I've pb'd and slimed, but never actually gotten stuck. (thank goodness). That must have been a scary feeling. Maybe I'll see you at the September support meeting. Have you gone to any? I've been to a couple and find them informative. Cindy

Hey Sue. Their office staff is great, very caring, as are both the Glasgows. I have nothing but good things to say about the whole experience. I was banded May 10, and have had 3 fills (1.5cc total). For me, it's working. I just have to constantly pay attention and chew, chew, chew, and slowly at that. I've noticed I can't tolerate untoasted bread, and hamburger. What I liked about the fills, Dr. Adam started conservatively at .7cc. He said if that was not enough, to call and come in in the next few days. I waited about 2 weeks because I was nervous and wanted to make sure. I then went in and he gave me a total of 1 cc. A few days later (and more confident now), I went in for .5 more. The scale has started to move again, so I think for now, this is fine. I'm in no hurry (well, I want the weight off yesterday, but I'll take 1 - 2 pounds a week). I'm really hoping that I won't get that really baggy skin and have to have surgery if I lose it slowly. If you have any other questions, please just ask. Cindy

Sandra, I bet you are still in onderland, it's just late tom that is wreaking havoc with your scale! How come noone is on today? Prob busy like me, this is the first time today that I got to even read the entries! Well, off to the hairdresser and hopefully to Linens n things for a scale. Cindy

Thanks for the nice words of encouragement. I'm very fortunate that I have healthy, intellegent girls who went to college. Gotta look on the bright side, I will see them soon. I would just so love to turn the clock back. I've enjoyed every stage of their childhood (and I remember wishing things away like for instance "I can't wait till their first step" etc.) But now I'm enjoying them as young adults. And you're right, when I see them at Thanksgiving, they'll be looking at a "new" mom. Thanks so much again. Cindy PS One pound to go till onderland (but maybe I'm there already, I don't have a scale yet)!

Ladies oh no. Not only am I sad because my two daughters have left me for college, but one of them took the scale. It actually is hers (up until now I haven't used one in years!). I have found my new addiction, it is the scale! I'm going to have to run out tomorrow to Linen's N Things and buy a new one. God forbid I go too long without weighing myself. What would my morning routine be? So I am going through children withdrawal AND scale withdrawal. What is the world coming too. I'm going to go drown my sorrows in a cup of earl grey tea! Cindy

Melissa, Congratulations on your new job. I know it's not the one you wanted, but it sounds like it will work time-wise. Also, as with the others, thank your fiance for me. It is a wonderful thing he did for us all, and for our country. and PS, I bet you'll hit your goal by your wedding! Cindy

Sandra and Melissa, I think you've hit the nail on the head. Some people are only happy when their "friends" are miserable. I don't get it. It just must be jealousy. Oh well, as sad as this sounds, you're better off without them. You sound like great people and you don't need Mean so called "friends" to drag you down and make you feel bad. Keep up the positive attitudes! We're rooting for you! Cindy

OK Weazer and Melissa, I feel your pain. My two girls are getting ready to leave me for college again. I know lots of people say they can't wait for their kids to go back to school or leave the nest, but not me. I really miss them. Last year my youngest started college. It was devastating at first. I did get used to it, but barely. She actually worked at the hospital with me this summer (she's studying to be a nurse), so the rides in are going to be lonely. Today was her last weekday to ride in with me (boo hoo). Oh well, I need to look at this as another chapter in my life. My oldest will graduate from college in December, and she's around now and then, so I have to look on the bright side, they're never far, it's just different. Thanks for listening. I'll probably go cry in a cup of tea!! (with splenda, of course) Cindy

Ragdoll, nice pics. I can definitely see a difference, like was said in your tummy, bottom, and in your face. Good for you! Now I wish I had taken some pictures. I'm just kind of camera shy from the weight issue, not used to having them taken. I think I'll have hubby or one of my daughters start documenting though. Good incentive! Twin mommy, onderland is SO close for you. How exciting. I now have 5 pounds to go myself but is is SLOW. Woo Hoo for you:clap2: Cindy

Sandra, that is great, good for you. You guys just motivate me so much. Now I'm gonna have to go home from work tonight and put on my hip hop abs dvd. Maybe that will help MY scale!!

Mini, Congratulations. You must have felt awesome. We just want it all to be gone yesterday, and it came off so fast at first that now that it's coming off a little slower (and steadier), we get in a slump!! I bet more people have noticed your weight loss as well. Keep up the great work.

Mini, you mentioned turkey bacon. I tried it for the first time two days ago and I loved it. Do you happen to know off hand how many calories and protein? My bad, I didn't even look it up!! We have some fresh tomatoes from the garden and I was really craving a BLT so I tried to be good and got the turkey bacon. BLT didn't work so well with me, I think it must have been the bread. I had had some of the turkey bacon and it was fine, but I had two bites of the sandwich, not so fine. Cindy

Lady Lana, You and I are bandmates. I too was banded on May 10th. I know what you mean as I have lost 38 pounds. I just feel like the scale has not moved much lately, but it will. I have just upped my protein as JSrico has suggested, and will continue with adding more activity daily. The water thing is hard, but I've been doing between 48 and 64 oz, althought it has to be crystal light to go. Love that stuff! Congratulations on your loss, and hang in there, we're all in this together. Cindy

Ragdoll, Sounds like you're doing awesome. And as they say, slow and steady wins the race!! I know what you mean, though, I just want that scale to move, and sometimes it doesn't!! Mostly it hasn't. I just had another fill last Wednesday, so we'll see. It's a total of 1.5 in a 4cc band. I have no idea if I am at the sweet spot. How will I know? Is it when you can't eat very much? I'm eating a lot less and have to be real careful to realize when I'm full (sometimes it's not so good). Perhaps I'll know when I'm there? I'm just gonna take it slow and see how it goes. As much as I'm in a hurry, I'm really not. Everyone's doing so great, keep up the good work. We are AmayZing, now aren't we?!!! Ooo, sorry so long!! I got carried away, it's been a while. Cindy

Sue11 Thanks. I think I will add a second unjury to my day, prob in the afternoon. You are right, that would be an awful lot to try to eat. I can not eat 1 chicken breast, let alone 3!! PS. I agree, I have the magic bullet and would never be without it again!! Cindy
