  1. I use these too! I buy them at Meijer. $2.99 each & they have 4 or 5 flavors. I also buy some from Sam's club, and those have 32g of protein, they are called MET-Rx Protein Plus. Better than drinking a shake all the time & my nutritionist said that they are good to use! I also use Atkins protein bars, Peanut Butter Granola is the best!
  2. Citracal is Calcium Citrate +D3... regular Calcium is not easily digested by our sleeves. I get the petites that are easier to swallow. It does not require food or stomach acid for absorption. Hope this helps.
  3. Sounds like you had a great experience. I had mine done in Michigan & it was the best thing I have done for myself! Good luck with the rest of your journey.
  4. I ate my fill of Fat Free cottage cheese & applesauce. Loved the combination. Egg salad was good with fat free mayo & mustard.. Scrambled eggs did NOT sit well with my sleeve. We live & learn. I ate a lot of Cup a Soup too! Creamy chicken was my favorite. Good luck...
  5. I'm in Riverview, MI...20 minutes south of Detroit. Had my sleeve done at Henry Ford-Wyandotte Hospital. Dr Kharbutli did mine & I'm very happy with the staff @ his office!
  6. "Wild Coney" has grilled Kabobs~ Steak or chicken~ Delicious...Love the grilled veggies too! And... Olga's white chicken chili is good too!
  7. Bedhead is right on the nose with this one!
  8. Wow! Sounds like I was a lucky one...No tube down my throat when I woke up & no drains! I did have a sore throat for about a week. But nothing I couldn't handle. I was off pain meds after a day being home. I just need to get my butt on my exercise bike more. Good Luck to all. I feel this was the best thing I have done for myself!
  9. When I first tried bread I had multi-grain toast... I still don't eat plain bread & never will. I love rice but will only eat wild rice & only if I have room AFTER I eat my protein & veggies. I have a problem eating shrimp. So I will avoid it for a while. Live & learn, but heal first! If you like crackers, try whole wheat or multi-grain & take tiny bites! Hope you're feeling better!
  10. Congratulations! It was the best thing I have ever done! Praying all goes smoothly for you!
  11. Walking is the best thing to get the gas out... (of both ends) Once I started passing the gas, I felt soooo much better! Burping wasn't doing it for me. Good luck & don't hold back on the release of gas, just let it out!
  12. I fell & hit both knees in 1993...didn't seek medical treatment at first because, after all, I just skinned up my knees...Then my knees started bothering me. Drs. said nothing wrong. So, I find a dr that will really look into my problems. I had problems after all! DUH!!! I tried for years to get someone to listen to me! Then my PCP tells me I should look into weight loss surgery to help with my knees & other medical conditions. Best thing I've ever done. The knees feel a little better, but NOT cured! And I know, no matter how much weight I lose, they will never be the same! I still take Tylenol #3 for pain, just not as often. Hope you find a dr that listens to you!
  13. I cut all my food up like I'm feeding my granddaughter. Small bites & chew it up real good! I have an exercise bike & should use it more than I do. We all have stalls, but keeping on the right track & getting off our butts & moving around really helps. Good luck!
  14. I'll have to ask about that too! I know they told me if I have an emergency to go to their ER... But emergencies don't always happen close to home or near that hospital... Thanks for bringing this subject up.
  15. Mine is my childhood nickname Dorey & my maiden last name started with K and my married last name starts with N... Doreykn
  16. Thank you... Looks like you are doing great too!
  17. I went through Henry Ford Wyandotte! Dr Kharbutli was my surgeon.
  18. Doreykn commented on Mrs.Prisses's blog entry in Mrs.Prisses' Blog
You tried it & it didn't agree with you, now you know! At least you didn't eat the whole thing. Will power & a sleeve, what a nice combination!
  19. I can tolerate meats, only if cut up into baby size pieces. Shrimp is what I have a problem with... Have you tried ground turkey? We use it in everything that required ground beef! Delicious & easier on the sleeve.
  20. I'm taking a chewable multi-vitamin 2 times a day, calcium citrate w/D3 2 times a day, B-12 2 times a week, Iron chewy bite once a day. Dr said @ 6months they will lower the multi-vitamin. Just depends on blood work.
  21. Happy Valentine's Day to you too!
  22. My Dr. told me one - two weeks...you have to be off pain meds & be able to turn side to side with no problems.
  23. I buy a cheese log with cheddar & swiss w/ slivered almonds on the outside. I eat it with multi-grain club crackers...Delicious!!!
