Protein?
Oh the fluids come first. But had to ask about proteins. And I'm two weeks and one day out and about 11 pounds down. I lost 20 pounds on the pre op diet in 12 days. That was with 3 protein shakes a day.

Protein?
I've been reading on here from everyone that they've been trying to get their protein in. My dr's plan didn't have any protein included and when I asked he said that if I wanted to, I could add one but he was more worried about me trying to eat. Does that sound right? Also, could that be the reason I'm seeing slow weight loss. I'm only eating 3 times a day and drinking water. (Food is still on full liquids for another 3 weeks)

Confused With Post Op Diet
I think every Dr is different. I was on 1 week clear, not even protein, right now on 3 weeks of full liquids. I've not really seen too many with the same diet on here unless they've used the same dr.

Tmi? - Ladies - Anyone Else Have Period Problems Post-Op?
Ok... I must be weird then. I have mirena and haven't had a period since surgery on the 18th. No spotting, nothing. Of course they gave me a blood pregnancy test the day of. Just think it's how my body is dealing with it.

Are full?" Uh... Yeah lol. Two weeks out. Btw, sorry... Had happy fingers... Stupid phone lol

Muffin Top - Wth?
My dr's nurse seemed almost shocked when I said I ate a whole sf pudding cup already. She was like, "really? Do you stop as soon as you feel like you

My Husband Hid The Scale!
Ok, so he probably needed to. I'll be two weeks post surgery Wednesday. Since I've been home I have weighed twice a day. I'd have a little loss in the morning, then weigh more than before in the afternoon. Of course, naturally I'd get upset. I haven't had a lot of weight loss since the surgery, so it's already disheartening. Then to see the scale jump 4 pounds and all you've done is drink water and eat one cup of yogurt hurts. So I guess he did the right thing. Once a week will suffice.

Is It Normal To Be Depressed Before Surgery?
I would say yes. You are letting good of the life you knew. Even if we aren't happy with ourselves, there is still that feeling of comfort with something familiar. And if you're anything like me, food was a friend. A comforter. To know that relationship was going to change, it was depressing. But look at it this way. You will be able to be the person you wanted to be. And deserve. :-)

Day 2 Of Protien Diet
I know it's a harsh. But the less sugar and carbs you intake, the better. Drink drink drink. Jello, sugar free popsicles, crystal light. All you want. I was scared to eat anything else. I thought it would keep my liver fat. And I had Easter candy all over the house lol.

Day 2 Of Protien Diet
You can do it. The first 3 days are the worse. Like was mentioned before it's to shrink your liver, but also to prepair you for the way you will be eating for now on. Lots of liquids, lots of protein. I went 2 weeks. It got easier. Hang on. It's worth in when you're sleeved and the hunger is gone.

How Often Do I Eat?

How Often Do I Eat?
Yesterday I was okayed for the full liquid part of the post op diet. I know what to eat, how to eat it, and when to stop. But don't know how often I'm supposed to eat. If I wait till I'm hungry I'll never eat. Getting my liquids in, just not sure when to eat.

Im Sleeved

Is This Right?
Thanks guys. I needed encouragement. Just felt like it was in vain for a moment. Still mourning food slightly and being on clear fluids made me want that burger (thanks to tv) and knew I couldn't. Moment of weakness. Thank again.

Is This Right?
I got sleeved 4-18. My weight when I got sleeved was 258. When I left the hospital I was 267 from all the fluids and junk. Leaving the hospital I am only on clear liquids (ie. Broth, sf popsicles, water, crystal light). I today am 253. Is that right? Only 5 pounds? Really?

The Day After
I am one day out of my surgery and I must admit it was so much easier than I thought it would be. I didn't get a morphine pump like some, but didn't need it. Was drinking clear liquids by night fall and getting the same for breakfast. I would do this all over again.

Mississippi Gastric Sleevers?
Mine took about 2 weeks. I have bc/bs of mass. The wait is hard but worth it. I get sleeved tomorrow.

Bill After Surgery
My insurance is great. I lucked out and for the whole thing I paid $1000 out of pocket. $700 to the doctor, and $300 to the hospital. But that is the max out of pocket expence that I would have with ANY situation.

Thank You
Good morning all. My name is Star and I joined the site a couple of days ago. I have been quietly soaking in all the information that I can for my journey ahead. On Wednesday, 4/18, I will be sleeved. I am so nervous, but a lot of the posts on here have helped ease my nerves... Just a tiny bit lol. I am 29 and have been big my WHOLE life. So to think with the help of this tool I am about to receive, I will be able to finally get my body closer to where I want it. I think we have all felt that we are thin people trapped in a large body at least at one point or another. So I just wanted to thank you all for posting your knowledge and experiences so that people like me (scared out of my brain) can get a better understanding as to what might happen to someone who is about to go through it. Thank you again. Kisses, *Star*
