  1. Since you're on regular food, your possibilities are limitless. For instance, this morning I ate a scrambled egg with cheese and a slice of turkey bacon. (3 carbs). Snack- Beef jerkey (3 carbs). lunch will be a grilled chicken salad with light dressing (about 6 or 7 carbs). Dinner- Garlic shrimp over baby spinach. (2 carbs). I tend to eat a lot of salads, but I love salads. Plus it helps keep things moving. You can eat any meat. I have even fried chicken breasts in soy flour... Actually tasty and only like 2 carbs in the little bit used to bread it. If you google low carb recipes, there are THOUSANDS. And if you get your carbs from the right things, veggies and a little fruit, it's not that bad. Good luck on the finding something new to eat. You just have to look at food differently now.


  2. Welcome to the group!!! You came to an awesome place. It helped me through the first couple of months after surgery. There is only one thing I can do to help you figure out which surgery is best for you... GET ALL THE INFORMATION YOU CAN. Compare, weigh pros and cons. I researched for years and settled on the sleeve. It seemed to be the perfect fit. Just like @@CowgirlJane said, each surgeon has their "favorite" surgery, so might even help to get 2 different consults. "It's not going to be easy, but nothing worth having usually is." (Scrubs geek lol) And if you have any specific questions, no one on here minds getting messaged... At least not in my time on here. Feel free to ask everyone questions. Good luck on your journey :)


  3. Only you can control your food choices. We all would like to hope that our food choices become automatically better. But that's something that we have to control. I loved carbs... All carbs. From rice, to Pasta, cake, Cookies.. Just name it. I never touched one of those things for the first 6 months out. But, when I did, I have to watch out. I still loved the taste of all of them. And never one problem when I ate them. I am not on a diet for life. I am living a healthy life-style. And that means that sometimes, I do have a piece of cake. Or have chicken fried rice. I have been to goal, but due to an accident and meds, gained some back.. So just know that you can have some of what you want. But it is a slippery slope.


  4. Biotin did not work for me. I took all the supplements, shampoos, upped carbs, upped protein.. To no prevail. But, it started about 3 or 4 months out and lasted a couple months to where it was a lot. No one ever noticed, but I did. Then it just stopped. Each person is different. Some have none, some have it bad. But it will stop, and it will come back. It has to do with when your hairs natural shedding happens and part from the anesthesia, and lastly.. Rapid weight loss. So just get your Protein, take your dr prescribed supplements, and it will be done soon. Good luck on your journey :)


  5. It will fade. I promise. Some it goes down dramatically. Some, like myself, it goes away completely. I haven't taken anything for heart burn since 3 months out. Just hang in there. It's worth it. And congrats on the 23lbs in 4 weeks. :)


  6. I came out of the hospital 11 pounds more than when I went in. They pump you full of fluids. It took me almost 2 weeks to get that weight down. 4 pounds in 10 days is nothing to scoff at either. That's 2 pounds a week... Add that water-weight from the hospital, I am positive it's more than that.

    I too was a chronic weigher. But it let me know right off when I needed up my fluids and exercise. Just don't let it ruin your mental state. You are going to up one day, down the other. So just stay focused, follow the plan your Dr chose for you, and you will be a success :)


  7. How far out are you? Had you eaten anything today? What did you drink it with. If you are rather new out, sometimes our new tummies are a little sensitive. I know a lot of drs that say no pills til 6 months.. Thank god mine was not one of them. If you haven't eaten anything, then it may just be the issue of meds on an empty stomach. Maybe drink a little milk or Protein shake to help coat your tummy. It may help. Hold you feel better.


  8. So the sleeve is a tool used for people who eat more then the amount they should. It doesn't matter carb, Protein, chocolate chips.. Most of us bored eat, emotional eat, and sociably eat to excess. So having a restriction is what stops us from over indulging. Now, for the hunger... I feel hunger. I am 26 months post-op. If I don't eat, I get hungry. But once I get my cup of food or so, I am fine. Satisfied. The people who say they are still hungry... That's usually head hunger. Maybe they have been having a stressful week. Maybe the kids are screaming. We have used food for a "comfort" for so long, it's hard not to turn back to that.

    So it's awesome that you already do the low carb thing. I did that for 10 years before my surgery. Lost 20 pounds, gained 30. Lost the 30, gained 35. So it is a full lifestyle change. I do eat normally. I eat pizza, burgers, and fries... But every so often. But instead of the full double quarter pounder with cheese, a large fry, and a large coke, I can eat 3/4 of the mcdouble, with 3 or 4 fries. Life does go back to normal. You just won't be able to eat a 32 oz steak and a baked potato. I hoped that helped a little bit. I know I asked myself why I really wanted to do this.. My answer... For me.


  9. I, at my largest (305) was a 44DD. I now, at my smallest (165-15 from goal) am in a 36B. Now if you took the access skin away, it would probably be an A. Not pretty. No perk. I lifted weights the whole time. Good bras. No luck. So lift/Aug probably next year ... that's if they dont suck up inside of me first lol


  10. I am 110 lbs down and can say saggage is a big thing right now. I had DD's (nice one if I may add). Now a very saggy small C. Those won't change without surgery. Now for the rest of me... yes. I sag lol. But I have been big for almost 20 years. Butt sags, belly sags, thighs sag, and arms sag.

    I have worked out since 3 months before surgery. But I think like this. First, it takes 2 years for your skin to shrink where its going to. Second, a size 24 to a size 9 or 10 in 7 months... what do I expect lol. It's worth ever sagging body part


  11. Star1211 What do u eat on a daily ? And are u on my fitness pal and if so can u add me as a friend... conner4ever is me and u look good keep up the good work. I was sleeved 8/22 and down 45 pounds. So what is a typical day

    I am on my fitness pal but have gotten lazy with it. My days are very typical. 20 grams of Protein shake... Low carb. Jerky snack. 4 oz of lean Protein for lunch. 100 cal bag of nuts. A lean protein and A veggie for dinner. Usually puts me between 60 and 70 grams of Protein A day. I workout 4 days a week... Cardio mostly on 3 of those and mostly weights on the other. 45 pounds in two months is awesome. Keep up the great work :)
