My NUT's recommended Protein intake for all women is 70 grams per day, which I get in more often than not. However, I was thinking about my height which is a lot taller than average (5'10"). Im wondering if because I have a larger body type than most females, if I should be getting in more protein? Or do the two have absolutely nothing to do with one another?

The thing I tell myself when I think "I've ONLY lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks?" is that there will be less loose skin to deal with later on if Im not losing at an extremely rapid pace. Im happy that the scale keeps going down, unlike before the surgery. Before, when I would have a mini panic attack every time I had to get weighed at the doctor and saw my weight steadily creeping up each time. You're doing just fine, try not to compare your weight loss to others' and keep focused on your progress through this journey.

I felt well two days after surgery, and then made a trip to Walmart with my husband on day 4. I felt fine going out, but got tired pretty quickly.

Thank you all for the kind words and support. Your posts have made me smile for the first time since he left It actually gives me a lot of hope and makes me feel much better knowing that there are people out there who have gone through very similar situations and made it out just fine. What a great group of people that gather here.
In the past when my husband has been gone I've turned to food and isolation/depression. I really don't want it to come to that this time after the surgery I have gone through to make myself healthier. I guess I just have to take it day by day and try not to fall into that cycle again.

I was a month post-op as of yesterday and today I had to see my husband off to Afghanistan. I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately trying to manage everything that goes along with my new sleeve, and now I feel just completely defeated. I'm hoping things will get better as I settle into my new routines, I just don't feel like there is anyone in my life to discuss this with that would understand. Is there anybody who has gone through a similar situation?

Wonderful! Congrats on the weight loss success! You're definitely not bragging. I've felt nothing but great since getting home from the hospital, and am VERY thankful for it.

I think that ditching the scale is the single best thing we can do for ourselves while we're trying to lose weight.
Agreed, I don't even own a scale. I know from past weight loss attempts that I get way too obsessive and let the stall get to me. There is a certain level of freedom in knowing that Im eating right, getting my Water in, exercising, and that the weight has to be coming off because of it.

No I have to figure out how I am going to make it this weekend, I am leaving town for a wedding. I n Lousianna!!!!!! Ugh I guess I will be packing my food.
Ohh my goodness, I just got back from a conference in Louisiana and let me tell you I was struggling! I ordered a lot of crawfish bisque, where the crawfish are already very soft and tender. I just made sure to chew chew chew until there were no discernible lumps.

WOW, thank you for reminding me just how much 25 lbs really is when it's coming off a body.

So if you feel the choking sensation, you have already ate to much?? When I start to feel the choking in my throat that is when I stop eating. Is that bad, should I stop before I get to this point? Thank you for input!!
I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one struggling with knowing when I'm satiated. I haven't felt any hunger since day one post-op (today makes two weeks), and it has been very difficult for me to know when Im satisfied, because Im not hungry in the first place. At times I have also had the suspicion that my sleeve was somehow flawed or too large. There has been no sensation coming from my stomach, but I feel a tightness at the bottom of my esophagus and I know I've eaten too much. It's hard to adjust to completely new body signals!

I had surgery on April 4th and haven't weighed myself since. I think I'm scared of becoming too obsessed with the scale, and too defeated when I see a stall. From what I've seen on here stalls early on are normal because of all the healing your body is doing, etc. I'm sure those more experienced than I will have some good insight!

Hi all, I'm 11 days post-op and I'm having a lot of trouble knowing when to stop eating. I'm on the full liquid phase and I have no hunger at all, so I've been eating just to keep up energy. Having no hunger, it's very hard to know when I'm satisfied. When I get gas pains in my esophogas, I stop. Has anyone had this experience?
Any Tennessee Sleevers Out There?

Hi there! I've recently moved to Memphis and am looking for a few local sleeve buddies. My surgery was April 4th but I've quite honestly been doing horribly with my lifestyle changes. I'm down 40 pounds and I'm not gaining, but I am far behind where I should be. For the past week I've been working hard at getting my diet under control and working more activity into my day. I'm often at Shelby Farms dog park if anybody would like to get together for some walking!
