  1. Does anyone do weight watchers? This site used to have a great weight watchers group but it fizzled out.

I have been attending weight watchers for a year and have found it a great support system as well as a great way to keep my weight in check. I've lost about 90 pounds and don't want to start heading in the wrong direction. I'm not able to follow the points but that's OK...I've found what works for me.

  2. Really depends for me; depending on what got me stuck I do have to go back to at least soft foods for a day or two because I guess my stomach get irritated easily. If I keep trying to eat those foods I continue to get stuck and then I really CAN'T do anything but liquids...

I really wasn't stuck...it was grease in the food that upset my stomach and after several hours of pain and nausea I vomited. I went back to soft foods and felt so much better.

  3. Vomiting once probably is ok. Continues vomiting I would say call your doctor for some anti nausea medicine. If you are struggling with solid food the yes go to mushy or liquids. Your band will let you know if it is irritated....

But I am not a medical professional' date=' this is just my thought. Best advise is always to call your doctor.[/quote']

Thanks. That's what I was thinking but needed some reassurance that I was doing the right thing.

  5. I've had an upset stomach all day and finally got some relief when I vomited. I've had my band for over a year... and I know that vomiting is not something they really want us to do....so I wanted to ask you veterans if you think I should go back to liquids for a couple days... I am scheduled to see my ,"band" Dr on Wednesday. (Sorry to be so graphic ...but thought I could ask my friends)

  6. I know that title seems really strange...but the other day I stopped by a dept. store and realized that I had "crossed over" from the larger women's sizes to the "regular" women's sizes. When I started this journey I wore a size 26W...I was able to put on a pair of capri pants in a size XL (and was still able to breathe). I still need a 1x top...but my bra size has also gone down 2 sizes. I decided to post here because when I tried to tell my husband about this amazing feat he just ignored me. I know all you girls understand and wanted to Celebrate with those who understand that a 10 size difference is HUGE.

    Stepping off my pedistal now...:)

  7. I was banded about a year ago and it seems like such a long time ago. I remember being very excited to not have to do anything...I watched the "crappy" tv that I never get to watch and spent time knitting--which I don't get work work on for very long at a time. I also took walks around Walmart during the day--not a lot of people there at that time. :)

  8. I had this problem and after talking to the nurse, I have increased my Water which has helped alot. She also said that when we are losing weight we aren't going to "poo" as much as before..so don't be alarmed if you aren't going but maybe once or twice a week. Have you increased your water?? Just a thought.

  9. yes...it is very normal and part of the healing process. What worked for me was to take one of my son's chewable benadryl tablets. It wasn't enough to make me "pass out" but just enough to take away the itch so that my belly could heal. Don't worry...it will go away eventually...but try to not itch in the meantime. :)

  10. We don't go out very often...found it is much easier to cook since I can't really eat much...but when we do go out I typically split with my 4 year old. He doesn't eat much so ordering a burger or chicken and splitting it works great for both of us (no...I don't eat the bun and may have one french fry). We also really like Mexican food...so I will order or split and order of fajitas with my husband and son. It is enough for all of us and sometimes we even get to take some home to enjoy the next day. When I go out to lunch with my co-worker I will typically order some yummy Soup.< /p>

  11. I am a proud member of weight watchers. I joined in June when I got "stuck" and couldn't get past a 24 pound loss. I have not publically said that I have been banded, but I love going...it is a great way to connect with other people who are trying to make good changes. I don't follow the program as the other people do...I mean really...I can only eat about 1/2 cup and use only about a 1/2 of the points...but I have found the life style changes are great and in the long run it doesn't really matter how you lose the weight....just as long as you lose it and make the necessary changes while losing it.

This also has given me a way to be accountable. I go to my "band" dr only once a month and find it kinda discouraging...WW has helped because I have to "follow" my plan daily, exercise and attend the meeting. I am also able to ask basic weight loss questions, get recipes and get the encouragment I need both when I lose and when I gain. Good luck to you. I love it and despite what others have said you can make the program work for you. My advice...don't say anything about your band...and enjoy being part of a community of losers. :)

  12. I am using True Results in Houston and was banded 4/26/12. Durning my first "adjustment"/fill the nurse told me that my dr. had given me a 3cc fill during surgery. She said that my dr. typically does this to give a head start.

I just make an appoinment for my follow up visits. The visits are scheduled when there are openings..they are very busy and so you have to basically take what's available. Good luck to you.

  14. I still weigh every day...in the morning before I get dressed. I use it as simply a tool to let me know if I am on track. I totally understand that naturally my weight will fluctuate every day so I don't get to upset if it goes up a pound or so. I have found that this keeps me on track and when I do gain I really make an effort to make better choices the next day. For me, the key is to know where I am so that I can better navigate to where I want to be.
