  1. So June 11 I am scheduled to have surgery. Slightly concerned. I am having it because in the last year I have not only gained 37 pounds that I can’t seen to get rid of, but I also have GERD.

    My questions are plenty,

Do I have to change the way I take meds?

i am also having a hysterectomy June 27, I tolerated Advil fine after my sleeve but read I should not even try it after bypass.

    wondering what else is different

  2. Okay everyone, we have a small group who meet every week to support each other - if you would like to join the next meet up is July 23rd at Lake Lenexa black Hoof Park 9053 Monticello. It is shaded and beautiful shaded walking trails. Nice benches covered overlooking the lake. Meeting time is 6:00pm. Its a pot luck picnic, bring some "sleeve friendly" food for 8 - 10 people

Reply if you are able to come

chicken salad and Babybell cheese and tuna Salad is on the "whats being brought" list

  5. I'm out of olathe ks and am waiting to be sleeved by dr malley. My surgery will be at menorah hospital. I looked into them years ago and decided not to use them for those exact reasons. I then found out later that they have alot of issues with complications, etc. in my opinion I would look elsewhere. Sorry!

Just as an FYI - I had three friends get sleeved by Dr Malley office. They loved him and Dr Fearing just not Menorah Hospital :(

  6. Okay Folks,

Tomorrow is the day. I rented movies for my family thinking it would stop me from dwelling on it. So much for that idea. They are watching safehouse and I willlooking for the remote (the life remote) to fast foward the next 6-7 days. Guess that was just a movie too :)

I am excited to,...but excited to be on the other side of this and praying to god that I don't screw this up. I have the food addiction and I know I have to deal with that seperatly. I also have control issues and and tend to "test" the rules....well that got me alot of nothing,... well except fat.

So I have accepted that I will do it different after surgery. I'll make long lists of things to do socially that dont involve food. I'll accept that rules are a part of life like breathing.

This isn't going to be a piece of cake (I HATE THIS SAYING BTW) and I will be a pain with all the posts and questions and maybe venting and I bet I will whine every now and again. Please have patience with me :)

I also promise to share my experience and excitement with anyone willing to hear.

Surgery is at 10:00-I'll be the one still in the parking lot (just kidding)

    On your mark get set,.....

  7. I have Dr Hoehn too, my surgery is in one week. I am on my 2 week diet and well, some days are better then others.

I have been very strict over the last couple of days and plan to be 100% for the next week and we will see. I plan to be honest with him and let himknow on Monday when I see hm how I did. If he has to postpone the surgery then better that then the worst happen.

It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hard, yes I am committed - every stage of this is new, I am better prepared this week because I know what caused me to fall - I hope I can still have surgery but we will see.

dont mean to steal your thread just wanted to say I know how you feel and it is hard,..I wish you the best even betterthen I did!!
