  1. Hi everyone....super random and not sure if this is ok to post, but unfortunately I over bought on Protein before I had my surgery to be prepared, and now since my taste buds have changed I don't like any of the shakes I have tried. So I have 2 tubs of the nectar (they are open and half full) in vanilla bean torte and natural peach...I have 7 packets of the nectar crystal sky, and then 2 full unopened packs of the New Whey Liquid Protein in multiple flavors because it was the sample packs. I hate these to go to waste so I will sell to anyone interested for a good price! Contact me at amyhphotography@yahoo.com. Thanks! Hope everyone is well! Amy
  2. So I am 2 months out and eating everything again (by everything I don't mean junk food). I still am feeling hungry and constantly want to "graze" I talked to my dr about acid reflux and he said that is not the problem. I just never feel full. A big problem I have is not getting down all the protein I need. I get about 65-75 g a day.....I CANNOT drink a protein shake for the life of me. They literally make me throw up (I have tried many different kinds). I need suggestions of other ways to get down protein....snacks, meals, etc....??? I'm down about 40ish lbs and about every week have a stall. So frustrated because I'm trying so hard and so confused why I'm not full

    Help! 2 Months Out

I have tried those...I 2 boxes of different flavors since Before surgery I loved them! Now since my taste buds seemed to have change I can't handle them. Even the smell makes me gag :/
  4. I am 5 weeks out, and really hungry! My dr said I can basically eat anything...I'm trying to get in about 70 grams of protein a day...am I hungry because I need more? I eat, get full and hungry about an hour later. It's driving me crazy. I am only 30 lbs down (I shouldn't say ONLY, but compared to others it's making me crazy!) I have been doing everything I can! Getting discouraged

    Why Am I So Hungry?

Yes I asked my dr about acid reflux and he said that is not it. I am on my gallbladder meds and meds for reflux. I the morning I have cottage cheese and Greek yogart (about 1/2 cup which is apparently too much). A Protein shake or cheese Usually egg salad or tuna or lunch. Either another shake or a veggie for snack. And for dinner I eat a meat and veggie. And I have liquid New whey protein for my main source of protein
  7. Was sleeved on August 17, just got on puréed and super mushy foods (nut from dr office said ok)...I'm getting about 60g protein a day....wondering why I am so hungry. I will eat my puréed, and feel full (I usually stop myself because I know I will hopefully be full soon). But then hungry about an hour later. I don't know what to do? I feel like its not working or something....super frustrated. I've lost 23 lbs in the 2 weeks and now stalled too (I know they say don't always go on the scale, but hard not to!)

    Day 5 Post Opp

EDIT: I'm 1 week post op today! Time got away from me! Finally starting to feel good! 20 lbs down!! Woohoo! I am LOVING my strained cream of broccoli....hating my Protein shakes but trying to choke them down! I have 2 questions....what happens if I don't get all my protein down each day? My next thing is I can't tell yet if I'm hungry or just unsatisfied....will that ever change? What's the best way to tell the "full" feeling?

    Day 5 Post Opp

Day 6 was the turn around for me to feeling better! I hope it is for you as well. I am still tired but able to get a little more down. Haven't been sick yet. Did they prescribe you anti nausea? My dr prescribed me 2 different kinds and when I start to feel sick I take them
  10. Having a really hard time getting in my protein shakes and water in general...feels like a huge tightness in my chest...other than that I feel great, just wondering if it ever goes away? If so, when does it get better? Any tips on how to get through this? Struggling because it hurts

    4 Days Out...

My pain is fine, it's just the tightness after drinking! I am not drinking out of a straw, just a cup...I think today was just a hard day because it's the reality that I cannot do it like I used to and I am discouraged this is how it will be forever :/
  12. Had my surgery yesterday morning by Dr. Cirangle at John Muir in concord, CA. I am feeling wonderful..,I was definitely prepping for the a lot worse! Feel like I have done about 500 sit ups, and very tired....that's it! I am so happy already..everyone helping me through this process has been beyod amazing! When I started this journey I weighted 257...in hospital before surgery I weighted 251, and weighed myself today and was 255 (nurse said because water weight...I hope!) but I am very positive and happy, haven't felt like this in a long time! Sorry to ramble, just very excited!
  13. I am the first surgery of the day tomorrow at 7:30 am and VERY nervous!!! I am pretty sure the nerves are common, but I wish they would just go away! I have done hours and hours of research, but I woke up this morning thinking I wasn't ready and don't know all the info about it....is it Normal to second guess my decision? Does anyone have any advice they would like to share?! I am lookinh forward to this adventure and cannot wait but starting to freak out!! Thanks in advance!
  14. Congrats! Mine went fast too....had my first consult June 25 and getting sleeved tomorrow! I am glad I did research before the process because it probably would have been way too fast and overwhelming to cram it all in a month and a half! Good luck with everything!

    Pureed Food Stage

I Get sleeved on the 17th of August, and wondering what everyone did to prepare...I was hoping to premake food for the puréed food stage....like how we make baby food....is anyone else do this? If so, what are some suggestions on food ideas? What did you do to prepare for liquid stage? I ordered some nectar Flavors, and some drinks.... Also, what Vitamin recommendations does everyone have? I got a liquid Multivitamin, and need to still get my Biotin, fish oil, etc.... I'm really nervous/excited so I am trying to over prepare! I don't have many Suppliment stores around me, so have to order online for the most part....

    Preparing For Surgery

Getting sleeved August 17, and I was reading different things to become prepared for surgery! I have ordered protien powders, drinks and my liquid multi Vitamin, but what othe Vitamins does everyone else recommend? B12, fishoil, folic acid, Biotin? Any that aren't hard to get down? Also, was looking into preparing food for my soft food phase...was reading a thread where people prepared their food ahead of time (food processed and froze the portions like premade baby food) does anyone recommend doing this? Sounds like a wonderful plan to me, just curious what are good things to make and freeze? I bought a magic bullet that I'm excited to use! Any other helpful tips! Trying to prep now' thanks
  18. I am so excited my insurance approved me!!! I scheduled my surgery for August 16! I am sooo excited but pretty nervous! I have never had surgery or anything so this is all pretty new to me! I have been watching YouTube videos and also following this forum to get prepared... I have a few questions. I have about a 3.5 hour drive from the hospital to my house....the day I am released from the hospital, would anyone think it will be ok to drive home that day, or would you recommend a hotel? My dr. Thinks I will be ok to drive but said it is completely up to me...just wanted to get feedback! Also, what did everyone do to get prepared? Did you buy lots of different Soups, popsicles and Protein powers ahead of time, or just get a few essentials? What were your favorite soups and powders? Does anyone have any other words of advice? The nerves are setting in and just don't want to overlook anything! Thanks in advance!

    Approved!

My husband and mom will be there with me, so they will be driving me
  20. magee2318

    Approved!

Oh yeah, and did anyone make their "meals" ahead of time? Like in the soft foods stage, make puréed baby food and freeze it?

    Newbie!

Hi everyone...I am in the process of getting a few tests done to submit to insurance to see if I will be approved for the sleeve! I am excited and nervous at the same time! My surgeon is Dr Ciranle with www.lapsf.com...has anyone had him? I, so far, have loved him and his office staff! I have blue cross insurance, and right on the cusp of 40 bmi...how quickly have any of you been approved? And have you all had good luck working with blue cross? If any of you have any tips, words of wisdom, suggestions, and/or things to look out for, I would love to hear it all...good and bad! Thanks in advance!
