Congrats! You look great. I have been in thrift stores since I hit 16s. Clothes are too expensive these days. I am going to sell everything on poshmark and hope to make enough profit for when I get into 10's.

Real Talk, Real Food...
Almostthere34 replied to elektrik_rose's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Ashley, Not on a liquid diet but did the same thing had surgery June 15th. I had to cook for my husband and kids before and after the surgery. It wasn't as bad as I expected. Of course I didn't make any of my favorites. I pretty much did meatloaf, chicken, fish, pasta's with salad and a carb. Most were my normal weak night meals. I had one night stay in the hospital and no gas pains so I was very fortunate. Don't forget it's ok to make sandwiches some nights. My kids kept eating my Jello and yogurts. :-) You will do fine. I just want to wish you a speedy recovery. Kina -

Does The Gas Ever Go Away?
Almostthere34 replied to Ms.Rosie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 24 weeks out and I don't have gas and I can't remember having gas after my second or third week. I remember thinking back then that I was a burpy belchy mess. Now its only a memory. -
5 Confessions (Join In)
Almostthere34 replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I confess because my recovery was so easy I do understand why people consider this the easy way out. I confess that I wear my hair with a part in the middle to hide the hair loss on the edges. I confess that I eat my kids Cheetos snack bag at least twice a week. I confess my new fitness obsession is taking over and I am pretty sure it's addiction transfer because even when my body hurts I still work out. I confess that I hate hearing about those who lose crazy weight with very little effort. If I didn't work out I wonder if I would lose at all. #onlyme. -
Is It At All Possible To Drive The Day After Surgery?
Almostthere34 replied to lucky8mb1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had you thought about catching a cab to the hospital that way your husband can get to the hospital after the kids are at school? If not I would see if your hubby can have a friend drive your car home. -

This confuses me I have heard more than one person on here say NSAIDs can be used after some time. I thought NSAIDs cause ulcers. When is this no longer a danger? Curious if anyone knows.

I know you will be fine. I hope you have a very easy recovery! Good luck and try not to worry. We have a space for you on the losers bench. I'll scoot over. Lol.

I was told 6 months to a year. I have a friend who had her surgery in Feb and she had been losing big the first six months, 3-5 pounds per week. I on the other hand have been doing anywhere from 1-3 pounds per week. My official 6 months will be Dec 15th but 24 weeks is next Friday. I think it depends on the person. I know I can eat more now than I could 5 months ago. This may have something to do with it. Sometimes I think I am more hungry than I was back then.

Wow, so sorry about thanksgiving. At least mashed potatoes will be ok by Xmas. I know how that feels I remember missing chewing. I am only 5, almost 6 mos but I tried to eat pizza once regular food was cleared and getting really sick. Lesson learned, I am much better at judging now.

You look fabulous! Congrats on your success. -
Didn't know they come dipped in chocolate. Sound yummy. Yes sugar free Popsicles count as liquids. They were on my list from my doc.

I wish I had known how weird thanksgiving would be. So glad I did it though.
