Sleeved Today 04/09 And Ouch!
Walk, Walk, Walk! I wasn't given any Water to drink until 36 hours post surgery - ice chips only! Ask for those pain meds. My first day and night were tough, pain and nausea. The gas pain in my chest and collarbone area was worse than anything else - until I started walking every two hours 24 hours per day!! Good luck!

2.5 Weeks Out, Is This Normal?
Today is day 15 post op and in some ways it's my most "uncomfortable" days. It's tender when I laugh or talk too much. If I had to describe the pain, this is exactly how I would describe it.

Why No Pre-Op Diet?
I was only on a pre-op diet for 10 days prior to surgery and it was no sugar, and no starchy carbs. Normally, too, the pre-op diet requires only 4 ounces of meat per day, but since I was "close" to not qualifying, I didn't need to adhere to the limited meat requirement. I lost 5 pounds in those 10 days - huh! Good luck to you!!

Holy Wrist Bones!
I love this! I found my ankles and feet. I think I spent an entire weekend staring at them and admiring them. My poor sister and husband....I kept saying, "Do you see THESE ANKLES!!" LOL Good for you - enjoy!

The Need To Feed - Myself !
Hi, Mona. I'm only 2 weeks out, in fact late last night/this morning are my first attempts at the "no chunk" diet. I will be on this phase for 6 more weeks. I'm certainly a newbie compared to a lot of people here, so when I see things that I don't understand I just have to ask. Thank you for sharing. Gosh! I hope that gets better for you VERY soon!!

Help Needed Q
Is your tongue yellow-ish &/or white-ish? You are probably in Ketosis - The process where your body doesn't have carbs to burn as energy so it is using your stored fat for energy instead. That's good!

Help Needed Q
I had a similar experience at Easter. And I love how you put "enjoy your family instead of the meal!"

Scared I Will Gain If I Eat.
Angela - I feel the same thing. I'm only about 2 weeks post surgery. In two days i start the soft food diet and will remain on that for six more weeks. But even with that transition, just a couple of days away, I keep thinking that as soon as I eat something that is not a clear liquid I will gain weight! PdxMan - I went to your "earlier post" as you suggested and found it very comforting. I enjoy the wisdom you bring to many of the posts I read - Thanks!

I Can't Tolerate Vitamins, Suggestions?
Hi, I'm in need of some advice. My surgery was 2 weeks ago. Everything has gone really well. I'm just about finished with my liquid diet. I'm getting 50-60 grams of Protein in and I've been walking and/or biking most everyday. BUT I can't keep my Vitamins down. I use the brand name Celebrate. I've tried the chewables and would throw them up within about a minute or two. Today I picked up the tables and threw that up within about five minutes. I think it's because the "tablets" are nothing more than the chewables chopped up and put into a capsule. Once the capsule dissolves, I'm back to the same Vitamin that I had when I chewed one up. Are there other brands out there that people are having more success with?? I'm thinking about going back to my Centrum just to get something in me!!
