  1. Hello all...does anyone on here do any heavy/hard labor intensive work, im interested in a new job working in oil fields but it would require atleast 10 hr days in 100 degree heat...wanted to know if anyone out there can share their experience in working this type of jobs post VSG (construction/oil/natural gas/concrete)

  2. The way I got thru any doubts was meeting people who have had the surgery and YouTube...look at videos of people and their success or talk to people...I have a cousin tha weighed 574 lbs and now weighs 280 lbs...just seeing him was motivation for me... I joined him on This journey weighing in at 374 lbs I am 3 moths out and weigh 285...a few months after your surgery when you weigh around 300 lbs you'll think twice about eating unhealthy...youll buy new fresh looking clothes you'll be out and about having the time of your life

  3. Just a quick question' date=' how do you get your Protein in? Is it all from fish or shakes?

I was recently wishing I could switch but then realized how hard it would be to get in 70g Protein.< /p>

You do it anyway you can/like...protein shakes Protein Bars...fish, chicken, lean meat, egg, fat free cheese...My favorite food is a ham and cheese omelet...1 egg is 6 grams of protein, 1/4 cup of fat free cheese is 9 grams of protein and 1 slice of low fat low sodium ham is 6 grams of protein...total=21 grams in a small meal

  4. plain and simple too many calories...you should eat healthier not less...fat free cheeses, little/no cooking oil, low carbs <60 per day...this isn't the way you eat forever just until you get to goal..I was told to have 800 calories or less plus 70oz of water...eat Protein first and it fills you up longer...this shoul have been done for the first 6 months to a year

  5. I live in Eagle Pass TX and I have a cousin who used Dr. Alvarez and is doing awesome 2yrs post op...I had mine done in SA cause my insurance did cover my procedure but Alvarez has so much experience (thousands of procedures) my Dr. Had 300+ so if insurance hadn't covered Alvarez would have been my first and only choice

  6. You can drink all you want but a WARNING it can be dangerous...i am 4 months out and I drink vodka and white cranberry juice...my cousin who is 1year+ out drinks Smirnoff ice he can drink around 4-5( but he has been past his goal weight loss). I suggest wait till goal and then party on...I am not at goal which is why I drink one or two all night and that is it

  7. No two people are the same so your body might work different...experiment with your sleeve And workouts...I personally am lucky because I have lost 76 lbs in 2 months without working out...I feel that if you work out your calorie intake an Protein intake must go up...since I don't work out I religiously follow my diet plan but if I work out I will have to eat more calories and carbs cause if you lack those your weight loss will stall if your body wants to hold on to more energy...so I suggest cooling it with the work outs or kicking up your calories and carbs...of course the good kind not breads and junk food

  8. Well...it's been 2 whole months since surgery(March 6,2012) and I am proud to say I have lost 57 lbs + 17 lbs pre-op diet loss, which gives me a Grand Total of 76 lbs LOST...from 374 to 298 in two months or from a 54 pants to 48 and 4x shirt to 2x/3x :)
