Did anyone smoke after surgery?
Maybe because you are electing to have a surgery to help you get healthy and make healthy choices and then you will continue to do some thing thats not only unhealthy but will kill you eventually. My doc wont even do the surgery on a morbidly obese person who smokes, they have to be smoke free 6 mos. He says he cringes when he sees a obese person who smokes, its like 2 nails in thier coffin. Also it impedes the healing process. In 2013 there is no reason for anyone to still smoke with all the pills and patches and alternatives there are. I understand its an addiction I gave up painkillers almost 8 yrs ago so it can be done.

No longer invisible, and that's what I wanted, I thought ...
I think I did because men have always looked at me and I cheated yrs 2-5 of my marriage. I did put on some as Ins to my hubby after he forgave. Men still looked at me heavy or not so Iam dealing with it in therapy but I do know what you mean. I was never invisible even if thats what subconciously I was going for.

Anyone else considering sleeve with BMI ~32
Makemyownluck: I had no shame at all. I also had no co morbidities unless you count acid reflux Ive had all my life. I did it mainly to stay healthy because had I stayed that weight, I was bound to develop something. Ive lost 59 pounds and even if I stopped there I would be happy. I look great. So no , no shame at all.

Right on schedule

Right on schedule
Sure enough as predicted at 15 weeks PO I am losing hair and it took me 10 days to lose 1 pound. Luckily Im close enough to goal not to get depressed about it. I feel for people who still have a long way to go. How do you keep up the momentum? Time to increase my water and protein.

Did anyone smoke after surgery?
Hopefully your personal choice doesnt affect others and pollute thier air like smoking close to establishments. I scream at smokers who smoke near a place Im trying to enter if it gets on me. Sorry but Im gonna live a lot longer than people who smoke. Thats the plan anyway.

STOP CALLING IT A TOOL!
I dont think the bmi matters, unforseen complications can happen at any weight. You dont know if that person had an underlying medical disorder that caused the death.

Low Bmi'ers...how Long To Goal?
30 pounds to goal.

52 pounds gone. When do you cut ties with your Dr?
I dont need to go to support groups. I see a wonderful therapist. I will continue to go cuz my next appt is 3 mos away, now that it gets longer and longer each time I can do that. I yhought maybe I had to go back every month. He is happy with my success so its all good.

For people who have a apron
I just learned something. Didnt know what an apron was lol I thought it was something grandma used to wear when cooking and doing dishes. No apron and no skin blocking my private area. Whew! That would be uncomfortable Im guessing. Thanks for the education.

BIG FAT PEOPLE!
I ate small to normal unhealthy foods with a pint of phish food or half the pint every night. Never a huge gorger just regular unhealthy and semi fast food. Pizza, souvlaki, hamburgers etc. thats how I rolled and " rolled"ol

OMG ive got an addictive personality what can i do
I laughed so hard when I read someone said a friend told them there are no fat people in Africa. Try Nigeria, have you ever seen that movie with Monique where all the gorgeous men are after her and her plump friend and dont give skinny ass the time of day? Exibit A! Love that movie, called Phat Girlz. All African men love a woman with meat!

The pre-op diet is NOT a punishment ... it's an opportunity.
Well said. I am glad I didnt have to do one cuz prob would have cheated but I made a deal with G~d, I told him if he made it easy and uneveventful for me, Id see it thru and do it the Docs way cuz my own wasnt working. He did, no preop anything and an exam of my liver showed normal size. Iys been easy breezy beautiful all thw way. Of course the next 30 will be a struggle as well as keeping it off but 55.5 pounds later and Im pretty happy.

Those who had over heating and sweating issues prior to surgery chime in..
Have not dropped a single bead in 13 weeks. I was not a big sweater preop just on exertion. I dont sweat even when doing my walks and Im pretty much cold all the time.
