Yes your right, my sugery will be at Potomac. I go to visit the hospital on Tuesday. I don't know why, but am still in dreamland. Dr. Halmi asked me twice was I excited...I guess he also sensed my nonchalante attitude...lol. I told him I would be the day of. I am trying to get excited but i guess until I see the scale move, I won't..

May 16th is my surgery date!!! What hospital are you having your sugery at?!!

Am with Bluepoint too..my surgeon is Dr. Nain! I had to meet though with Dr. Halmi too though since he will be in the surgery room. I liked them both. I really like the whole staff, I don't have any compliants except that the biatric coordinator pissed me off. I had the option between the 3 month and 6 month, and decided on the 6 month with my primary doctor. When I fullfilled the surgeon and my primary cares requirements, and it was time to submit to Aetna for approval, she tried to tell me I had to do a pysch evaluation. I told her Aetna only requites that for the 3 month track but she tried to beat me down. In the end, she submitted it anyway, telling me it would more than likely be denied. Welp, it was not. I was right and Aetna gave me the approval. She aplogized but what bothered me the most was she wasted time trying to tell ME what the requirements were when me and my primary care already knew what they were! Smh

I ordered the same sample pack . I hope I like the broth too as I haven't seen many websites with as great reviews. I plan to buy about three more sample packs and then see how they are pre-op. I start my Opti-Fast diet in 4 days...pray for me! I hope I can make it through this!!

Thanks everyone!!! All of your post was so helpful, and I will check out the subform! I know everyone taste buds are different, but I am just trying to narrow it down! When you walk in a place like GNC or Vitamin Shop, it can be overwhelming!!!

Good Girl! A lot people say its good to weigh everyday, but am totally against that concept. It will DRIVE YOU CRAZY. Pick one day a week, and leave that scale be! LOL

I am scheduled for May 16th, the same day! Even though your date was moved, the good new is it was only pushed back for 2 weeks! Also this means I and others before you can give you a heads up on how our procedure were! So really, its not that bad!! Sometime God works in mysterious ways, and this may be Him working in your favor!

You and me are about the same weight. I am currently 270, wear size 18/20. I am scheduled to be sleeved on May 16th. Even though I do not have kids, I want to be health when I do. I went to the seminar, read all the articles, Youtube, etc. I really think this is the best route for ME! Thats the key, you have to be sure this is what YOU want. If it is, and your docotor agrees, then go for it. One recommendation I would give upfront is to only share your journey with a few people. It seems that alot people have had issues with family and friends discouraging them or trying to sway them away from the procedure. DO whats best for you and your family, and what will make you happy and HEALTH. This fourm is full of information and great people, so am sure you will get plenty of guidance and encourangement, no matter what decesion you make

Aww Congrats!!! Now that you are approved, its all about fullfilling your suregon requirements. Pre op testing, getting prepared for any pre surgical dieting, etc! Now that you approved, your docotor should be able to give you a surgery date!!! Congrats!! And lets us know when you get your official date!!!

Mayda, my surgeon is requiring that I take opti-fast! Its a mixture of protein shakes and soups. I hope they taste decent or I will be starving for the entire 2 weeks!

Well today I received my surgery date. I had the choice between May 9th and May 16th, and decided to go with May 16th just because it worked around my schedule! So May 16th it is! I am soo excited and terrified at the same time! I don’t know which way to go, or what I need to do first to be prepared for the big day. My surgeon's office is requiring me to use Optifast for my two week diet, which will begin on May 2nd! I am looking forward to the new HEALTHY me!

Oh ok! And yes, the coutdown begins!!! I am starting to be a little more excitied than scared! lol

Congrats on your weight loss! Was that 24lbs a week after surgery or did that include weight u lost on your pre op diet>?

ahhh..am glad u are couting! I am not! LOL When do you start your pre op diet? I start mines on May 2nd!!!
