  1. I actually have the original ninja that has the motor on top and it blends just as well. I love my ninja and it turns any frozen product into slush. This one is about $40.00 at walmart, if you can't afford the other one. It's a great blender and food processor.

I've been doing good on my 5 days pre-op diet, no cheating. My husband has been hanging with me and really encouraging me. But, 2 days and I will be on the other side of this weight-loss journey.

Thanks for all the encouragement. dlahouston I'm having my surgery in Illinois, I hope the best for you and a speedy recovery.
  4. I've been on my pre-op diet for only 2 days and I'm doing ok. It's getting better each day, but all the commercials, I'm starting to miss all the food I think I'm not going to be able to have anymore. I know it's a mind thing but these commercials are driving me crazy. I am sticking to my diet to the letter and will not falter. It's not worth it, this is important and I want my surgery to go well. I'm doing this and will succeed. For all those who are at this stage, we can do this. KEEP MOVING FORWARD!

Well I've started my 5 day pre-op diet and I am really hungry:) My surgery is July 10th and I know that this is important so I will follow it to the T, I will not cheat. I have so much support with this. My husband, 3 sisters and a friend, wow, how much love I have. I appreciate all the support that they have given me. To be able to talk about this with them has been great and has helped me release some of the nervousness. This is only the first official day so we will see how the rest of this time goes.
  6. Hello, I will be sleeved in 1 week and I am excited, but a little nervous. I have been preparing for my 5 day pre-op diet. Shopping for all that I could think of that I would need. I started weening myself Monday by replacing breakfast and adding a meal each day to replace. I figure 5 days would not be too hard. Next week will be here before I know it.
  7. If its the same one that my surgeon group talked about, they are not good. Our bodies can't absorbed whatever is in them. I think it has collagen in it and that's not good. If we are talking about the same stuff.
  8. Thanks for checking in smoggy. I am next tuesday and I'm getting nervous, so its a big help to see you doing ok. Helps calm my nerves down. congrats and happy healing.
  9. Like you said, you are doing this for YOU! I know that we all want people to accept and be happy for our decision but sometimes that just doesn't happen. That comment was not about you, it's about them. Now that you are going to be healthier and slimmer, they will now have to worry about themselves being as they said "the fat one". It don't matter how healthy you're going to be to them because it's all about them. I'm happy for you and congrats on your surgery date.
  10. My surgery is July 10th so it's nice to know what someone else has gone thru. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Just checked it again and its called: "Hey July Sleevers"
  12. Hi augustkiwi, I'm having my surgery July 10th as well. I'm excite and nervous too. My pre-op diet is only 5 days, but I will ease my way in starting Monday with replacing one meal each day so that by the time Thursday rolls around I will be ready. Congrats on your date and hope all goes well for the both of us. btw, there's also a forum for us under July Sleevers. Look for that and enter your name in for July 10th. You should see the list once you read thru them. Let's keep each other updated.
  13. Hey Thyckness, My surgery is July 10th and I'm excited. I had the 3 month diet management too but had already started before I started on this journey so I was already thru that part. My pre-op diet is for 5 days only and I have decided that instead of going cold turkey that I would start weening myself a few days before with the reduction of one meal each day. Hopefully that will help it not be so hard. I'm ready for this journey and I'm glad you have started on your way.
  14. I use fatsecret.com. It is easy to use and a great site.
  15. I feel the same way. My surgery is July 10th and I can't wait but I am also nervous about the surgery. I just keep thinking positive and know that this will be the beginning of my new journey. Congrats on your date.

I had the nutrition class this morning and the surgeon visit this afternoon. Everything went good. Now for the count down. 2 Weeks exactly and I'm excited. As I sit here thinking about all the this will encompass I am getting a little nervous but nothing I can't handle. I'm ready for this journey, so let's go. July 10th here I come!

Thank you Emy, when was your surgery and stats? How did you do?
  18. My Dr. only requires a 5 day pre-op diet so 12 is just fine. Like emily said, they would not have scheduled you so close if they felt it was going to be a problem. Congrats on your upcoming surgery.
  19. The last time I posted I just had my psych visit. Well I've since received my date of July 10th for surgery, YAY, and have had my pre-op exam on June 19th. I am so excited and ready to get this journey on its way. I have my visit with the surgeon and the nut on June 26 and I have a lot of questions to ask, already written down. My surgery is approaching fast and although I say I'm prepared, I know that there are things that I still don't know an won't know until after surgery when I go through them. I am thankful for this sight because I have learned so much here and will continue to look here as I continue on my journey and maybe one day I will be of help to someone else just starting out. Thanks to all who have gone before me and who took the time to help me (us) out as we follow you through this journey.
  20. Great Job! I can't wait to be an inspiration to someone else.
  21. Hi, Mine is July 10 in Illinois with Dr. Rossi
  22. Whatever you decide to do start putting it in motion now that way when you have surgery there will be not much of a change in your routine. If you go to you car like Hsteinle said then start before surgery. Don't give them reason to talk or try to figure out what's going on. People will talk no matter what you just have to be strong enough to ignore the naysayers and know that you made this decision for you no matter what anyone else says. Keep Your Head Up! You deserve it.
  23. lacie, my date is July 1oth as well in Illinois with Dr. Rossi. Congrats to you.
  24. Will be sleeved July 10 and would like to join this buddy list as well. I'm excited and nervous but ready.
  25. Thank you, I'm trying to absorbed as much information as possible in order for this to work to my benefit. It helps with putting things in prospective and what I can expect. Thank you,
