    What To Wear

Thank you, Thank you! The only time I've been in the hospital was to have my tonsils out (when I was 21!) and to give birth 4 times. So this will be my first real cut open experience. I ESP love the pillow between the seat belt idea! THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!
  2. T minus 3 days! Woo Hoo!

    Weight Loss, Periods, Mirena

All, this is some food for thought. My awesome husband "took one for the team" and had a vasectomy last summer. I'm wondering if my periods will get heavier as I lose and will need to go back on Birth Control. I hate the hormones associated with BC. Hmmmmm??????

    Keeping The Silence

I'm so grateful I'm not the only one who has chosen to keep this to myself. Thanks for the love and support. It makes me feel ten million times better knowing I'm not the only one who has chosen to keep it under my lid. My In Laws are very loving and acceptive people, but I think they'd think I was totally and completely crazy....but they are all super thin people. Even my kids (thankfully) take after them and are long and lean! I love being here and having you all for support! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    Hello Bandster Hell!!!

Between a "Summerrain" and a "DesertRose" we are two things that go together! Keep in good spirits. Just know we ALL go through it. You're not alone. AND you're not the only one who needs to throw a tantrum. I'll look for you the next time I need to throw one!

This is actually something I hope happens for me! I feel like I'm cruising through life with a flippin down comforter on! It doesn't help that I live in the So Cal Desert!

Why Do People Think Lap Band Is The "easy" Way!?

I went in on Wednesday to have my pre op labs done. The phlebotomist who was doing it has been at this lab for several years. I've watched her and she's watched me gain and gain....ESP since we had three babies at the same time As each other. I hardly recognized her on this visit. She looks fabulous! I asked her what diet she is following and she said..."I had GB and am sticking to high protein/low carb" She said " I would have chosen LB, but I didn't feel I was disciplined enough". That spoke volumes to me! I KNOW this is a tool and I'm so happy and grateful I get to put it in my tool belt!

    Hello Bandster Hell!!!

Just keep in mind that your body can retain water and that can show as a gain. Keep doing the fabulous work you're doing. It'll come off. My brother who was banded 3 years ago said that he would have a couple weeks of no weight loss or even a gain of a couple pounds and then all of a sudden he would lose 10 lbs! Just like THAT!

    Pre Surgery Diet

Mine in on the 27th too! What a popular day. I only have to do 48 hours of a liquid diet. My BMI is just at 40. So my Dr said 48 hrs was enough. Did anyone else have their dr tell them that?

    Nutritionist ?

I would let the office staff know about your feelings. They can always dump her and get a new one. They may even have another one you could see. Either way...let the office manager know.
  13. That is so messed up! Yes, throw a polite fit like Ms. Blue! Ugh! I'm SO sorry this happened to you! NOT COOL!
  14. I still can't believe I get to be banded! I feel like I won the lottery!!!!

  15. After the 6 month "Supervised Diet Program" and all the other hoops, I HAVE A DATE! I'm so thrilled! My hot date will be on September 27! That's only TWO WEEKS AWAY! I feel so excited that it's hard to contain. My husband and I made the choice not to tell our family or friends. Not even our 4 children know! They're 8 and under, so I doubt they would understand much. Likely, I have this forum to open up and get the help and encouragement I need! I'M STOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I called my Insurance 5 business days after my Dr's office submitted...just to be sure they got all the paperwork. Then 10 days after that, I still hadn't heard anything. I called my Insurance and was told my Drs office had left out verification of 3 office visits I needed to have during the 6 month supervised diet program. I called the office and they resubmitted. I did the same thing I did the first time and called my Insurance to be sure the paper work was in...that was Monday and I heard back yesterday that I will have surgery on the 27th. All this started on August 13. So it was over a month for me. I would call your Insurance company.

    I Have A Date....

    Yay! Congrats!!!
  20. So my Dr's office submitted my paperwork on the 12th of August. My insurance took two weeks on it, then said they were missing proof that i had had 3 office visits during my 6 month nutrition program. The office left out 2 of the three visits. So the office re-submitted last week. I'm praying the insurance will not have anymore requests and that the office did their part to the fullest this time. I really hate being at "their" mercy. Has anyone else had to deal with this? (I have Reagence BC/BS PPO)
