I am not ashamed of be banded and I don't feel like I am cheating. However, I only told a few people about my WLS because I didn't want to deal with the stigma of "taking the easy way out". I have very hard by watching my portions and exercising. It has not been easy for me, yet some people that know about my WLS still think that I "took the easy way out. I can't be concerned with their opinion. I don't feel like I am being dishonest when someone ask me what I am doing to loss the weight and I reply portion control, exercise, etc... because that is the truth. I personally didn't feel that omitting the fact about my band gives someone false hope. I know plenty of people who had WLS (gastric bypass and the band) that failed!!

54 pounds in 1 year is a great accomplishment. Your band IS WORKING FOR YOU!!!!!! You want to switch to the sleeve for quicker results. WLS should not be a quick fix. You gained weight over a period of years, so why do you expect to lose it overnight? Please be happy for results and not compare yourself to others. Congratulations and keep up the good work.

Girl, you look GREAT!!!!!!!!! Your weight is appropriate for your height. You look healthy. I am 5'8 and my goal weight is 165lbs (221 lbs now). I am laughing because the other day, I was just thinking "I can't wait to see space between my legs". Happy Belated Birthday!!

61 pounds lost!

What an inspiration. My 1 year bandiversary is 5-3-13. So far I've lost a total of 61 pounds. I have been slacking for months. I finally got back on track two weeks ago. Reading your post made me even more determine. Thank you and Congratulations!!!!!!!!
