  1. When I am stuck i feel extreme pressure and pain in my chest. I want to burp alot and have throw up. When you get stuck you will know it!

I find that getting up walking around and putting my hands up on a wall and leaning into the wall really help. Whatever you do, don't drink a thing until it passes! Just makes it worse.

But good news today I ate semi solid food (homemade taco bowl thingy) and did not get stuck my entire meal!!! The heavens rang, the angels sang, it was amazing. I took small bites, chewed alot, and took long breaks between bites. What a relief, this is the first solidish food I've been able to eat without getting stuck since my fill on Monday.

  2. Yes I am finding that out! I dont know how many times I've read, take small bites, eat slowly, chew chew chew while preparing for surgery. But you can read that a thousand times and have no idea what it means until your getting stuck every time you eat!

  3. As my first fill on Monday of this week. I'm trying to get back on normal food, but I'm having the hardest time. I am getting stuck everytime I eat!

How small of bites do I really need to be taking and how long do I really need to be chewing?

I dont think I am too tight because he did my fill under flouro. I started out with one cc, Monday he added 1.6 ccs.

I really think the reason I am getting stuck is user error, so my question is exactly how do you eat to avoid getting stuck?

  4. I am confused I feel restriction only when I get stuck. When i eat soft foods I could eat and eat and not get full. I am almost afraid to eat foods that are not soft because of getting stuck. Help

    Lassie

    Soft foods, like sliders?

Assuming your not to tight or some other complication is happening, sounds like you may be eating too fast, taking too big of bites, or not chewing well enough. If you only eat soft foods that slide right through your band then your band probably isn't doing much for you. The purpose of the band is to keep you food in your pouch longer, making you feel fuller longer. But if all you eating is soft stuff that doesn't stay in you pouch, your doing yourself and you band a disservice.

Try eating slowly, take small bites and chew chew chew. All that being said there are some foods that alot of banders will simply not be able to eat.

I hope you figure it out! Good luck and hugs.

  5. I should also say that whichever I use I apply right out of the shower, every day, as a preventative.

Healing an already there rash or broken skin is a whole other story.

  6. Stick deodorant works wonders.

I have also done baby powder. They both work wonderful. I tend to prefer powder because I can poof it all over my thighs and stomach to stay dry and fresh.

  7. I still have a little lingering port pain. My incisions are itching like crazy!

I have pretty much gotta back to a normal diet, just have to make sure to take small bites, chew, and eat slowly.

At my two week check up the surgeon told me to call and schedule a fill when I feel like I need one, just to be sure that all my port pain is gone because he would have to push on my stomach to find the port.

I still can't take my anti depressant, it makes me sick.... Not good!

Any way I am starting to feel like a normal person again! Yay!
