hey annemarie. thats probably what im going to end up doing. Because in reality that is kinda tha truth. I had started this WHOLE process towards the end of last yr. So ill just tell them i had been waiting and finally got approved and the date was scheduled for May 10th. Can they let me go bc of it? aww thanks! im hangin in there! i think im gonna get started on my liquid diet earlier bc i know ive gained sinced my initial consultation with the surgeon back on Janurary. weighed in at 293 back then. im sure ive gained. and talked to the surgeons office and the said he would like for us to lose about 10lbs. not that hard but try adding about 15 extra that i probably gained. ooowiiee!! lol. jesus help me!

    Reason For Time Off

I havent had my surgery yet...its May 10th. but ive only been at my job 2 months..itll b 3 on May 2nd. I havent told my job anything frankly because...i dont know what to say and im scared ill lose my job. i really need my job it took me 2 years looking for a perm job while working temp. My surgeons office says they want me to take 2-3 weeks off. but thats a really long time. But my husband tells me to not stress...that stress can also affect the surgery and that we'll b ok. but obviously i need to tell my job wether its good or bad outcome. another thing is i need to pay 2500 upfront so if i tell my job now im scared theyll let me go before i hit my 3 months and therefore ill lose out on 2 more paychecks before surgery that we're counting on to go towards the 2500. ughhh im just confused.
  4. hey all so my appt is still on for May 10th. so i have time to try and lose as much as possible, i officially start my liquid diet april 25/26th. The thing is, i have about 2 weeks until i start my liquid diet and i find myself giving myself some lee-way (dont know how its spelled) and letting myself eat normally for now until the 25th. but my question is what if you gained or stayed at the same weight from the initial surgeon consultation. will they deny youif you didnt lose anything ? not sure how that works thanks!

What Happens If You Gained Weight?

hey ladies! thank you for all your input! i just called my surgeons office and i asked how much i weighed in at when i had my consultation with the surgeon for the first time back in january. They said it was 293. sad thing is...im sure ive gained. i also asked about how much hes expecting patients to lose before surgery....she said about 10 pounds. so even if i can get to like 285 itd b nice. ughh i think im like 310 probably. ima prolly needa lose 25lbs...and my surgery is in a month exactly. greeeeeaaaaat (<--sarcasm)

    Any May Sleevers Yet?

MaY 10th!!! Dr Eric Pham @ St. Josephs hospital in Orange,CA
  7. ok so i reallllly need to vent and im so lost and confused. so i have insurance through my mom. My surgery is scheduled for May 10th. She just text me letting me know her company had a meeting today and they will be letting 24 people go and they will receive their notice of who it is on April 26th. april 26!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why?! i dont know how all this works. will her company give her a "grace period" of coverage and if so how long? im so frustrated. i called the surgeons office and explained to them whats going on they said if i need to schedule it sooner they can move up and just to let them know asap. bc if i get it done on the 26th id have to start my liquid diet asap. im so unprepared for things im gonna need. my boyfriend was going to help me out with things and hes busting his butt as his job trying to get overtime in. and to top it off the reason y i scheduled it for may 10th was to give me time bc the insurance will pay 90% and im responsible for 10% upfront. so now im like great. and bc im getting this surgery i might lose my job. i took me 2 yrs to find a job and now i got a great one but ive only been here 2 months and i doubt theyd be ok with me asking for 2-3 weeks down time.

    Im So Frustrated...i Could Cry

HEY EVERYONE. i just wanted to say thank you to all of your for taking time out of your day to read my problem...for your words of encouragement....words of support and much appreciated advice. i spoke to my mom and she said she prays she isnt one of the ppl to be let go. but to go ahead and keep the date as it is. she has much faith everything will be ok and work itself out. so my surgery is still scheduled for the 10th of May. over the weekend i received drs forms for me to have an EKG, lab work and chest xray. so ill be doing all that one week b4 surgery. my pre-op condultation with my surgeon is may 7th. and i start my protein liquid diet April 25th. i think i might start a little b4 that to try and drop some much needed extra lbs. thank you all of u once again. =]

I do have some questions for those who have already gone through the surgery, if you can help me out id appreciate it. thank you! 1. How long did your surgery last on average? 2. How long did it take you to wake up from the anesthesia? 3. I know everyone is different but on a scale of 1-10 how much pain did you feel once you woke up? 4. How soon do they have you start walking around once you wake up? 5. If there are any ladies out there who had PCOS, did it go away or improve with time after surgery? i have so many more, if you have any other info other than what i asked...its welcome! thank you!

    Any May Sleevers Here?

iM getting sleeved on May 10th!. By Dr Eric Pham in Orange. @ St. Josephs Hospital. Im so nervous but excited! ive only been at my job literally 2 months today. so i havent told them yet cuz im kinda nervous i think they might let me go when i have to ask for 2-3 weeks off for down time. =[
  14. To anyone who'd like to hear about me....here goes! My name is Sandra. I just got my approval/authorization on Tuesday 3/27/12 for Gastric Sleeve Surgery. I had started the process last year with o-band going through the psychologist requirements, having an endoscopy and consultation with the surgeon. I was doing all that until I found out they weren't in my insurance network and my out-of-pocket would be expensive...so i stopped pursuing it. That is until, This past January (2012), I decided I was tired of being in denial that i loved myself no matter what and was happy. I wasnt. I weigh 300lbs and i am 5'9. I've always been bigger then the other girls around me. I am always being told you have such a pretty face. It takes me so long to get ready in the morning because my wardrobe consists of leggings (I havent worn a pair of jeans in YEARS!!!) and loose fitting tops that i try to use to hide everything that bulges out. I plan out where Im going to go according to if i feel ill fit in the chairs...just sad. I hate the fact that im not living the life God blessed me with! I am: Diabetic type 2. Have PCOS. Sleep Apnea. and dont have periods on my own EVER! (it takes progestrone shots and all that other stuff just to get it to happen) I went through St. Josephs hospital bariatric program (Orange, CA) and begand the program. I had to attend to support group meeting, a nutrional evaluation, a psychologist evaluation. I completed all that within 2 months. I went ahead and had my primary doctor write a letter of medical neccesity for the surgery and included my sleep study diagnosis from the sleep study i had done at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach. St. Jospehs submitted it all to my insurance on March 14th. Got my approval 13 days later on the 27th. Ive scheduled my surgery date for May 10th. 8am. My pre-op work will include: EKG, blood work and chest x-ray. I need to be on a week liquid protein diet prior to surgery. My questions! 1. If ill be strictly on liquids before surgery is there an amount everyday drs expect you to drink? 2. How long does an EKG last? 3. Has anyone out there had surgery through st. Josephs as well? how was your experience? 4. How soon are you to begin exercising? 5. how long will the surgery last? i have so many more but i cant understand why i blanked out! lol. any advice is welcome and very much appreciated!! thank you!

The Date Has Been Set, But I Have Soo Many Questions!
