    Trivia

Try the liquid stevia you find at most health food stores. The plain & the flavors are good.

    Drains?

I had lots of abdominal adhesions, so things were intense during surgery. Thought he might have to do an open procedure. I had a drain due to the bruising & manipulation required. Big hassle but worth it. Came out on day 10. Yuck!

Post Op Almost On My 3Rd Week

I also add diced up boild egg to my soup for the same purpose.
  6. Am only two weeks post-op & have lost 22lbs. I feel like I need some kind of support under garments to " smooth" things out. It's a long time till I can even think about a permanent solution. I even feel like I need a smaller bra. Any suggestions?

I add it to healthy choice soups or to warm water. It is pretty good.

    So Thirsty!

Try hot herbal tea with flavored protien shots and Splenda or stevia. A little protein is better than none.
  13. Had surgery with Dr Kuhn at Medical City in Dallas. I won't go into it here, but I have a very complicated medical history & could get no one to agree to try to do my sleeve laparoscopicly. Praise God, Dr Kuhn not only tried, but succeeded! Granted, I had a bigger incision & a drain, but only two days in the hospital & I'm doing great! Down from 234 to 219!!
  14. The AMA recommends liquids for two weeks post op & puréed foods for three weeks after that. I had Dr Kuhn in Medical City. My advice, listen to your body & concentrate on fluids. We are all about the same. We should meet up & start a small support group. Also, try the unjury protien powders, they are fabulous. Tina Waxahachie

    New

If cold isn't working try hot herbal tea. That's what they offered at my hospital. I would get the starbuck's orange herbal & but some Splenda & about 1/3 of an orange protien shot. I also do this cold. I also like the margarita crystal light with the orange Protein. Sip, sip, sip!!!!! Don't try to swallow. I hope this helps. Keep in touch, I'm right there with you. Surgery on 3/22!!! Prayers Tina

    Younger Sleevers

Good luck to you all! I will be two weeks on Thursday, surgery on 3/22 and I am already down from 234 to 219. I am 48 years old, so I hope my skin will bounce back some. Don't get on the scale too often, maybe just once a week. I'm doing great, but my advice 1. Find a protien powder you like. I love unjury esp the chocolate splendor, chicken soup & the cheese. 2. Buy a good insulated cup and keep it full a cold beverage. Sip, sip, sip all day long. Hydration is so important to your recovery. I make crystal light & add a protien flavor shot. It's not moch, but every bit helps. I don't care for the flavor shots by themselves. Keep in touch & ask anyone if you have questions.

Time Of The Month During Your Surgery?

I started the morning after surgery, which was a week early! I had my surgery done at Medical City Dallas which caters to WLS patients. My nurse said it is very common, though they don't know why???!!!???

    Coffee Post Op

I was told decaf, but no limit. My nutritionist said if you are very good about staying hydrated, then one cup of coffee with caffeine is no problem. I am only 10 days post op so I haven't tried yet. Maybe in a couple of months.
