  1. It looks like it's been 2.2 lbs per week (15 weeks). Does that seem normal?

I think that is completly normal !! I was a very VERY slow loser It took me almost 9 months to lose 61 lbs. When everyone else was at goal within 4 months !! It will come off Just be patient the slower the better as far as loose skin goes. Exercise is very important to make sure your arms thighs etc. are not to flabby and you can wear short sleeved shirts : ) I walk atleast 2 miles 5 days a week I do Pilates atleast 3 days a week and do thigh exercise every other day and arms every other day. I would like to lose about 10 more lbs Howere I think my body is done!!!! I am totally fine and content where I am so its all good : ) I did not start exercising until about the 5 th month and really wish I would have done it sooner!! Water is the number one thing and What I had to do was make sure I was hungry before I ate Head hunger was really hard for me and I now have a good control over it. I still have mny days where I feel like I eat like a wild animal LOL But I have to keep in mind I am in control !! You are doing fantastic and keep positive !! Keep me updated on your journey and if you have any questions feel free to ask and if i know the amswer I will gladly share !! : )

  2. I hear you ladies, I wish I could just be taken in an inch or so at the seams. I've started running to see if that will help tighten up some loose skin.

My mom and her husband joined a gym and if they stick with it, I might join as well so I could do some strength training and have access to a pool for my son.

Have you tried Pilates? I used to train in a martial art and that firmed me up like nobody's business, but there's no one teaching it where I live now.

I have started pilates I love it !! I use to do pilates ling ago and it worked well. I am just not sure it will tone my loose skin but I ma gonna give it a shot !! Good luck to you too!!!

  3. Congrats on your weight loss and maintenance! Sooo close to ur goal!!

I too have accepted the fact that I am not going to lose any more weight...im 14 months out, have only lost 47 lbs total and have been "maintaining" my same weight for 4 months. I kno the weight loss is sometimes slow but this is ridiculous! Well, my surgeon started me on 6 mo dietian visits and after that, she will reassess my situation and together we will decide if a revision is necessary. I personally don't want to do the roux-en-y surgery for my own reasons, but I really need to get more weight off. VSG just didnt work for me :(

Good luck to you on your continued journey!

Thank you !! I am so sorry you are having trouble with VSG !! I hope and pray your Dr will be able to figure out what is going on with out another surgery !!!! You will be in my thoughts for sure !! Congratulations on the 47 you have lost !!! Kepp me posted on how your doing !

  4. Well I am 9 months post op and down about 60 lbs. For the past 3 months I have not lost 1 single pound. I have tried everything from more Water to more exercise to more calories to less of all and still nothing : ( I have come to terms with the fact I am the weight I am going to be at from this point on . I am very happy with the weight I have lost I am 15 lbs away from my goal. I could have never of lost the weight with out the surgery. I was hoping to have lost ALL of the weight being that it was 75 lbs and I read about people that are losing twice as much and going past thier personal goals wearing a size 4 and the list goes on ........I will continue to eat healthy and exercise. Not sure if this has ever happened to anyone else where the weightloss has just stopped. I am glad I got as close to my goal as I did before the weight loss did stop : )

  5. It is a personal choice and no busisness of anyone elses that she had WLS surgery if infact she did !! It amazes me that people think they have to know everything about someone and call them liars when a person does not like what they are told. Why are you so concerned with if she had it or not if you think she did and you want the surgery call for a consult. You nor anyone else have the right to condim her for not tell you her busisness!!!!

  6. I work for my PCP. I mentioned I had been hungry a lot last weekend. I wanted to know if I could up my Nexium. She didn't understand the acid mimicking hunger until I explained it to her. She was offering to prescribe Qysimia. Instead, I bumped my Nexium to twice a day dosing. Worked very well.

That is interesting !!!! I was unaware of acid mimicking hunger aswell. I still have awful acid reflux maybe I will try that and see if it helps. : )

  7. Cowgirljane,

I know my Bmi is at a healthy range and I am happy about that : ) It has not been this low since my teenage years. I do still look like I need lose at least 10 to 15 lbs. I am just at a loss as to why my weight has stopped? My origional goal was 125 and with my build that would be a good weight . I would settle for 135 but know since the weight loss has stopped for so long I guess I will settle for 149

  8. I think it has something to do with how fast you lose the weight... Keeping in mind this is my opinion only : ) I was a very slow loser... I am 9 months post surgery and did not lose any hair !! I do keep my Protein up but I foud that everyone I knew with rapid weight loss did have Hair loss. To them it was very noticable after washing thier hair they would claim they had handfulls of hair come out. I never noticed a difference in their hair. Never anything indicationg they were losing hair or their hair as starting to thin. I have never read about anyone going bald and I do have 1 friend who said her hair grew back thicker. Her hair loss stopped at about 10 months. Good luck and do not stress I know eaiser said than done . It will eventually stop and my guess is no one you know notices : )
