  1. I was told Tylenol was ok, but no ibuprofen (Advil, Aleve) or any fish oils.
  2. I'm seriously so nervous! I have to do a 2 week diet of protein shakes, broth, sf Popsicles and sf jello. I've never been good at dieting (duh! Or I wouldn't be here) and I'm so afraid of screwing up.
  3. You guys are so great! Knowing I'm not alone helps a lot. I'm worried about getting sick of chocolate and vanilla too. I went to The Vitamin Shoppe and bought a few Nectar samples do hopefully that will help. My surgery is April 27 and I'm nervous and excited! Great tip about the before and after pics...I'm so gonna do that with my phone for motivation!
  4. CHELL, I'm not judging you one bit! I'm more than irritated that some surgeons have little or no preop diets and others are super strict. I'm starting my diet in a couple days and I'm a nervous wreck. I have a family to care for and I'm scared of feeling starving. I'm interested to see how you do!

My Job Is So Freaking Nosey

What about HIPPA rights? You don't have to tell them exactly what you're doing.
  6. I use the app on my iPhone daily. It's great!
  7. I am not doing a revision since this is my first wls (hopefully only!) but pcip is covering my surgery. I was approved first try.

    Results From My Endoscopy

They found that I have a hiatal hernia too. My doctor said they will just fix it during surgery. Probably even boosts the odds of insurance covering surgery!

    April 24Th Anyone Else?

    Mine is April 27...pretty close!
  10. I was told I need to take my prescriptions to my pharmacy and ask if they can be crushed or taken in liquid form. Apparently meds that are extended release cannot be crushed. Anyway, it's on my "to do" list now!

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

My surgery is April 27th! I've been working toward this for like 7 years and finally it's happening...woot!!

    Surgery End Of April!

Hi Danielle! I'm scheduled for the end of April too. I'm mom to 4. I'd love to be your buddy.

    Before And After Pic's

I was going to comment how young you look, obviously I'm not the only one to notice. You look awesome!
  14. I'm still preop but 15 pounds in 2 weeks sounds great!

    Cpap Mask

I was told the hospital uses their own machines.
  16. I saw a friend post about this on FB. Very cool.
  17. I have had 2 psych evals done. A couple years ago I had one done (my insurance changed and ended up not getting to have surgery). I passed it no problem. This time I was probably overly honest and my psych felt that I have pretty sever anxiety issues. She asked me to touch base with a therapist a time or two and have someone "in my back pocket" for after surgery anxiety issues. I did this, and I was given clearance. It may not be as bad as you think! Good luck! I have had 2 psych evals done. A couple years ago I had one done (my insurance changed and ended up not getting to have surgery). I passed it no problem. 18. I haven't had surgery yet, but I'm interested in hearing responses too! I'm nervous and excited and would love feed back as well.

    For Those Who Love Soda...

Joni, you took you the words right out of my mouth! I'm a Diet Coke Addict and about a month away from surgery. I'm seriously stressing over quitting. Absolutely ridiculous! It comforts me to know that I'm not the only one and that I can hope I don't desire it anymore.

What Insurance Can I Take Out To Cover Sleeve?

I also took out the standard option. The maximum out of pocket for both the standard and the extended option was the same and I figured my surgery will max out my out of pocket anyway. Keep in mind, I didn't get the insurance specifically for wls, but it has been on my agenda for about 5 years! Like kczar said, it is supposed to end in 2014 when "better conditions for insurance companies will be in place" but all that can change. For now I'm grateful to have it.

What Insurance Can I Take Out To Cover Sleeve?

I was without insurance coverage for more than 9 months because I was denied coverage from BCBS as well, in my case for PCOS and weight. I will be keeping the PCIP insurance as long as it's available to me because right now it's my only option.

What Insurance Can I Take Out To Cover Sleeve?

I agree about PCIP. I live in Arizona and pay $188/month (based on age) and YES! They do cover the VSG. I am just waiting on my surgeon's office to submit the paperwork, but I have the printout the insurance company sent over with the requirements and coverage information and I've done them all. Good luck to you!
