  1. Well here is a quick update. I was banded on june 11th. Starting weight 260. Today 210. I have lost 50 pounds as of today! Yay! I have a 11cc band and have 9cc in. I go back on sept. 19th for another fill. I am getting so close to the green zone. I have had no complications as of today. I hope to keep it that way! Looks like everyone else is doing great also! Keep ip the good work everyone!

  2. My Dr is very aggressive with his fills. It is also done under fluoroscope. I was banded june 11th,2012. First fill 4 weeks after and 6cc, then second fill 4 weeks after first one 3cc. I fell great! 9cc in a 11cc band. I am eating one cup at my three meals and i can tell when full. Best feeling ever. So i am just over 2 months out since surgery and really feel like i just might be in the green zone.

  3. I really hope the best for you. I was really trying to give you a helpful suggestion. I have worked in the operating room and with trauma so yes i would feel comfortable doing thisto myself. As i said before i am not saying go do it but just advice you could bring to a dr that coukd maybe help with a quick fix. Nwgirl apparently feels she know best in this situation and no one elses advice or wishes are good enough. I wish the best to you.

  4. If it were me i would be doing everything possible to try and fill it. I work in a hospital and have axcess to syringes and all the idems needed. I went to nursing school and knkw how to create a sterile field to work with. So i would fill my syringe with what you generally got for a first fill with normal saline then try like the liquid bandaid or liquid stitches. Or if tubing stickes out far enough i would use the liquid stitches then wrap with steri striped or gauze and bandage. Not sure how long it would last if at all but i wohld be trying everything. I am not recommending this for you only telling what i would do for myself.

  5. Wow! I had my band done on june 11th 2012. I just received the dr bill for 5,000 the day of surgery and the hospital fee 19,000 the day of surgery. Almost 25,000 just for the day to be banded. Luckily my insurance covered all but 800 dollars. Just had my first fill it was 531 dollars. Insurance paid that too. I live in minnesota. It must be expensive here.

  6. They went by my first weigh in and i was at 42. But on surgery day i was at 38. They do submit according to your first visit. I did not have to show i had a problem with obesity because of course as they can tell by my bmi i do. It all went super smooth for me. Started in november 2011 and had my surgery june 11th. Good luck.

  7. I was banded on june 11th and have only lost 7 pounds since surgery. Sounds like your doing great. I get my first fill on july 17. I am not to concerned it takes time and i am not going to stress over only 7 pounds. Seven pounds is seven pounds. I am happy with that for only two and a half weeks. Since i started the whole process last november i have lost a total of 33 pounds and i feel great about were i am at. We will all get there!

  8. I am on mushies also. For Breakfast scrambled egg, snack greek yogurt, lunch tuna salad, snack cottage cheese, supper refried bean or pureed chili. I have been finding lots of options. Unsweetened applesauce, smashed banana or pears, you can add Condiments to stuff also like sour cream or mayo to tuna. You have to become creative but soon we will be on to regular food then we can experiment with mostly everything. Good luck

  9. Hey i was just reading over the blog! Thanks for the list on when everyone's surgery day is that is wonderful. I initially was scheduled for june 4th then my dr had a emergency and it got moved 5 days before my surgery. I was so sad but what can you do right. Well i ended up having my surgery on june 11th. It went great and i feel good. I have started pureed diet today and was abke to have scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, and chicken pureed. They were amazing. Went and seen my dietitian today and i am down 30 pounds since i started the whole process last november. 10 pounds on supervised diet, 15 pounds on liquid diet, and 5 pounds post-op. I feel great. Good luck to all the june bandsters as well!

  10. I had my surgery one week ago today and this is the first day i have felt good. No way could i go back any sooner than one week. I will have two and a half weeks off but my job is very physical and i am on my feet all day. I work in a hospital. Good luck to you!

  11. I am five days post- op and have been using mine still. Today i used it when i got up and again after supper. I am hoping to stop soon. I went to town to get just liquid tylenol but no one carried it otherwise i would be fine with that. Hopefully your pain goes away soon.

  12. I also take a pill that can not be crushed. It is my allergy pill. It is alittle bigger than a pea. My dr told me to wait a week before continuing the pill. For me i can do that since it is not a super major pill that wohld have serious affects. I would just keep drinking and hope it goes down.

  13. I had to do 2 weeks before and 1 week after. I am in the one week after and i am not hungry. Next week i can have mushies. I am looking forward to that. The two weeks pre-op i was hungry pretty much the whole time and i lost 15 pounds. I did struggle. Post -op-op i have lost five pounds this week. But all dr are different with their post and pre-op diets. You would just have to ask what your dr requires. Good luck.
