    Kansas City Area Sleevers?

Good luck to you too Kansasgirl. Let us know how it goes for you. Nice that your husband can go with you. I would think it would be a bit much to go it alone going to Mexico and all. Take care and keep us posted.

    Kansas City Area Sleevers?

Congratulations on your combined weight loss. That is just awesome!!!! I am really excited and counting down the days. I am having my surgery and KU Medical Center with Dr. Selim. I am very happy with him and his nurses/support staff. They have been just wonderful. They have made sure I have everything I need in place. Heck, I have about a 2 inch binder of stuff to read (once I printed out all the attachments they sent me) - or I should say that I have been reading to prepare for all of this. Everything from Vitamins, to my pre and post-op diets to follow, to signs and symptoms of issues that might come up, etc. Now, I just wait for my pre-op appointment which wow... is tomorrow! and then I have my EGD on April 6 then on to my surgery. I see we are both from the south side of town. I have family in Harrisonville.

    Kansas or Missouri Sleevers?

Hi everyone. Glad I found you. I am still pre-op at this point. Surgery is set for April 16 at this time. SharonL, I am not far from you at all. I am in Belton. Ever go to the rec center to work out? I go and walk the river at the pool 3 to 4 times a week for my exercise. Can't wait for my surgery. My pre-op appointment is this Thursday. Counting down the days!!

I have not had my surgery yet, but will soon - April 16. How are you two doing? Where did you have your surgery done?

I am pre-surgery at this point, but thanks Lynda for the ideas. I have copied them down for later use. Thanks Cmullinvegas for starting the topic!
  6. I know how you feel. When I got the call and got my date I felt the same way!! I am also very excited for you. Congrats on getting a date. Best wishes.
  7. I was also worried about this issue. What I did was loose a little, but not too much. I did start an exercise program, and use the time to do a lot of research, reading, and did a lot of work on myself. I used the time to learn how to chew my food slower, not drink for 30 mins. after eating, etc. All those things that I would need to put into practice after I had my surgery. I also took the time to get my head in the right place. If I felt a binge coming on during those 6 months, I figured out how to deal with it knowing that I would no longer be able to eat my way through it. The 6 months went by faster than I thought and I accomplished a lot. I also got my house in order. Since you can't do a lot of heavy lifting after surgery, I remodeled my livingroom and kitchen. Painted, put in new floors and remodeled my main bathroom. Now 1/2 my house has a new look, just like I will. LOL Hang in there, it will go fast!

    Egd !

I get mine done on April 6, so I know how you feel. I hope it all goes well for you. Be sure to post your experience once it is all over with. Best of luck with the test.
  9. Hi, I am new here, but I have been reading the site for several months now. I finally have my surgery date. I will be sleeved on April 16. I have my pre-op appointment on March 29 and my EGD scope on April 6. I am so excited that I finally have a date. I have to do one week of the liquid diet before surgery, but I decided to start a semi-liquid diet today to get geared up. I want to give my system a bit of time to make that adjustment after reading some of your stories about this switch. I am hoping that will make it easier on my system. I don't have much in the way of sugar cravings any longer and I really don't do much in the way of eating off track. I just remind myself that it will just be more to take off after my sleeve if I eat it now. So far, so good. I just keep reminding myself of my goals. All of you are such an inspiration to me. Thanks for all your postings. They really do help keep me going.
