  1. HI all, I dont get on the website much but I am feeling the need for some reason lately. I am 9 months out and i am down from 236 (day i came home from surgery on June 10) to 159. While i know that i am much smaller (was a 22/24 and now am in about a 10/12) I agree that is is what i am seeing in the mirror that bothers me. I know that I have lost a lot so far, but the weeks of not loosing are so ANNOYING!!! I just started running in hopes that it will get rid of my last 30 pounds or so quicker! I love my sleeve and would not change anything, I just wish I was at the end of this already!!!

    Best of luck to all!!!

  2. Okay so I was sleeved almost 3 Weeks ago. I have been feeling a lot better these last few days' date=' but yesterday and today I have this internal burning sensation near the largest incision on my abdomen when I turn a certin way or when I go from sitting to standings and standing to sitting. I stared my thick liquids or full liquids yesterday also and have been starting to do things around the house (dishes, laundry and some bending).so i'm not sure if its just my stomach adjusting or stretching? I can only eat 1-2 ounces of something at a time though. Is this normal??[/quote']

I had the same thing, I am 7 weeks post-op today, and it went away around week 5. They explained it to me as that where the removed the stomach so it had the most healing to do. It was one of those things where I was so uncomfortable and then one day it was just gone!

  3. Can't believe I have lost 60 pounds ! I am 4 1/2 months postop...' date=' starting weight of 254, today at 194! I am now in the smallest clothes I had held onto from about 8 years ago, and really need to do some shopping as the styles are definitely dated, but I don't want to buy any until it's a smaller size! I had the lap band initially in 2007, and it never seemed to work right- think I lost 30 pounds total and was always getting "stuck" before it finally "slipped" in 2011 and was removed. The sleeve is far superior in every way, and I could not be happier!! Another big difference this time is this message board- it is so full of encouragement, so full of good information, and has kept me motivated and on the right path!! Thanks so much!! Also, I am devoted and faithful to myfitness pal - and I believe it has also been pivotal in my success and encourage anyone to try it!! You can also friend me DocAngTx12 !![/quote']

    Congrats!

  4. Ok so I guess from what I am seeing that this is normal! What a sick game we are playing ;)! I am walking about 2miles a day and I have 3boys 5 and under so I am on the move most of the day. good luck to all and thanks for the positive thoughts!!

  5. I met my goal today! It took a little over 6 months and I didn't even try that hard.

If you think you will be the one person this will not work for' date=' you are wrong. I just knew that I would be the one that failed.

It happened for me and it WILL happen for you! Don't even stress it.[/quote']

    Great job...so exciting!

  6. HI, ok so I had WLS on June 8 and since then I have gone down about 32 pounds. Knock on wood...I have no intolerances at all and I am feeling great. My problem is that I have not lost anything this week! I have been yo-yo ing with the last pound since last Saturday...up a few ounces, down a few ounces and back up again. I started food on Saturday and I have been eating according to my nut plan and I have been walking...with is going on! I am beyond frustrated! I also feel like I am able to eat a lot more than I should. I am always hungry!

Here is what a typical day could look like

    Poached egg

    Protein Shake

3-4 tsps of chicken salad with light mayo

    Wasa cracker

    cheese stick

1/3 of turkey burger (no bun)

2-3 tsp of black Beans with a spoonful of salsa and a drop of low fat sour cream

Water and Vitamin water zero through out the day

    Any thoughts??

  7. Thank you tlc. I needed to hear that.

While I have not had the lap band, I am 1 month post op and I LOVE my sleeve. it was the hardest and best decision I have ever made for me! I have no (knock on wood) food intolerances at 1 month out thankfully. But i didn't really have a hard time with dairy, spices or anything else pre-op either. I just eat 2-3 ounces and I feel great! Best of luck!

  8. Omg just created this drink that is so yummy' date=' especially if you love watermelon. Just now my friend have me an idea. I was craving a cold blended drink. Of course get your Water in for the day! But here is a nice treat to drink to make you feel like your drinking something.different. Ok so let me get to what I did...I'm just a little excited and can't wait to share! I put these ingredients in a blender. Watermelon chunks, crushed ice. Vitamin Water Zero go-go mixed berry flavor that is naturally sweetened. Blended it and you got your nice ice drink. Next I'm going to try freezing the watermelon chunks. Give it a try its really good. I'm a week out of surgery and I am always looking new ways to satisfy my cravings....without breaking my post-op rules. And of course having this in moderation! Enjoy![/quote']

    Gonna try, thx for posting

  9. I'm in mushy stage too and one of my favorites is Chobani Champions greek yogurt for toddlers. 3.5 ounce serving 100 calories' date=' 8 gm of Protein. They're the perfect size!

I also like ricotta cheese, cream of wheat (on the thin side) and refried Beans are good too!

My doc would allow me to eat tuna and chicken salad as well, mixed with fat free mayo or plain greek yogurt. I havent quite worked up to that yet though.

Sent from my SGH-T679 using VST[/quote']

Also try the plain fat free chobani with sf maple syrup! Omg to die for!! I am also doing black Beans with salsa and guacamole...makes ya feel like you are eating normal food

  10. I just call my board "kick the carbs".....I am also keeping it confidential until I feel comfortable!

That is what called also as only a very limited amount of people know I had surgery as well.

  11. I have seen posts on here about skim milk that has extra or added Protein already in it. I live in Southern California and cannot find anything like this at any store (and I have lots of stores to choose from)! Will someone please tell me where they get this and what brand it is. I would appreciate it! Thanks.

I use skim plus. It has 11 g of Protein per serving. I Am iin ny so I just get at my supermarket.

  12. I was sleeved June 11th. As of today down 30 lbs. 56 lbs down total since starting my journey (see signature).

My doc was also Dr. Aceves' date=' He did my band surgery too last year.

I had some issues 2 day post op with severe reflux in the hospital but it was due to the area where my band used to be, it was super swollen after removal. At about day 4 post op it finally subsided and I haven't had any reflux issues since.

I am never truly hungry. My head hungers LOVES to rear it's ugly head though... some days are better than others, but for the most part it still drives me batty. Like today I would KILL for a cheeseburger. LOL Like - Cut. A. B*tch. For a cheeseburger. haha But truly I am not HUNGRY.

And due to that I am having a hard time getting enough calories in. I am averaging about 200/day currently. My Protein intake isn't where it needs to be but doc said not to worry about it too much right now.

And to whomever said they had issues with the Calcium chewable pills - ME TOO!!! They make me gag and want to vomit!! So now I break that big thing into 6 pieces and just swallow them. Way easier. I've also learned the hard way to NOT take the plethora of Vitamins that we have to take on an empty stomach. Cause if I do I will end up dry heaving and having nausea. This morning I had about a tablespoon of applesauce before taking them and didn't have any issues. B)[/quote']

I had my surgery on june 8 in long island. Great idea on the vitamins! I am able to stomach anything I eat except for my Multivitamin...

  13. Hmm... i'm assuming you will have a cooler? You could bring cheese sticks' date=' deli meat "roll ups" (you put meat, cheese, mustard/mayo/etc, lettuce if you want... and roll them up instead of putting them in bread), Peanut Butter (if you are not watching your carbs).

You could also do greek yogurt. This might be tough, but if its wrapped properly and in a cooler I don't see a problem. You could even put it in the freezer the night before and eat it in the afternoon after it defrosts. I add Protein powder into plain yogurt. Then I add some sort of flavoring IF i need it (espresso powder, splenda, flavored syrups, crystal light packets, etc). This is a great way to get lots of protein!

If you are up for a little pre-cooking you could make meatballs. My favorite recipe= ground turkey, plain greek yogurt (you do NOT taste this, but it works to keep it very moist and keeps it from falling apart) and the seasonings of your choice (my favorite is garlic, italian seasoning, salt, and curry). These would probably taste just fine on the cool side and if you weigh them as you make them then you'll know exactly how many Protein each meatball is. Makes it very easy to count while you are at the beach. This should also sit well in a new sleeve.

Again with the pre-cooking you could make egg "muffins" (i could find the recipe for you if youd like or you could google one to work with your specific tastes... actually there are probably a ton here under the recipe section). They travel very well but i'm not sure how well they would taste cool.

    Have fun!![/quote']

Great idea on the meatballs...how much yogurt do you use? I am starting my puréed stage Monday and I am so excited!
