  1. Hey r u talking about the 'over the head' kind that are kinda big! I soooo want some of those but didn't plan to use for exercise as I figured they'd be too bulky (plus I didn't want to get them all sweaty). Do u find they are NOT too bulky and can u wipe the sweat off?

I am talking about them, they come in the solo edition(which are smaller) or the studio beats(a little larger but much better sound quality!!!) I love them, can't imagine running 3-5 miles 4 times a week without them!!!! Feels like you are in the music....need it for motivation lol. Great buy IMO. They fit great so they aren't too bulky and can wipe the sweat off too!

  2. I feel it's a personal choice, if you want to share, then share if that's not what you want to do, don't share. Just because someone asks you a question or you think people want to know what you are losing doesn't mean you have to tell them, you can always smile politely and say what prompted you to ask?

I have found that the people I work and see daily don't really notice, I find those I don't see often have noticed and commented on my weight loss and it has been positive.

  3. I agree with some of the other comments, what are your stats? What was your starting weight, how tall are you, do you exercise regularly? Allof these things make a difference in keeping your weight loss in perspective, you are doing great and you are losing. That's a positive. What are you eating? Sliding foods like chips, pretzels, popcorn, cheetos fool you because you can eat more of them but they aren't good for your weight loss efforts. Be positive and know that you can do this! Hugs!!!

  4. Where do I start!? I will not miss being "the heavy friend" out of my group of girlfriends. I will not miss going to the mall with all of them and just holding all THEIR shopping bags' date=' lol! No more hiding from the camera for pictures. And most definitely no more just being the girl with all the guy friends but no boyfriend... Can't wait to be sleeved and start my journey!!!![/quote']

I am soo with you...I won't miss being "the heavy girlfriend" out of my group of friends!! Totally forgot that.

  5. I am 5 months out sleeved two weeks before you and have had some stalls, but none lasted too long. I was told to eat some carbs(good carbs) and sleep as your body needs rest if you are working out alot like I was. Broke my stall in 2-3 days and haven't had a stall in months. I have lost 66 pounds to date and am 5 pounds from goal, my new concern is will my body recognize that and stop losing weight? I work out 5-6 times a week and am a little nervous I could end up way under goal....not complaining though I used to be way over goal lol!

  6. I actually considered bypass last year when I started seriously looking into all this' date=' but in the end decided bypass as compared to the sleeve was the "easy way out." I too have friends who've had RNY who have put a lot of the weight back on. I had myself convinced that my eating habits were not "that bad," and that my digestive system was just "too efficient," and that bypass would fix that. After plenty of research and soul-searching, I figured if I wasn't willing to do work on MY end, and instead rely on malabsorption for all my losses, that I would not be better off. I also decided the different (and lifelong!) malnutrition risks with each bypass procedure were just not worth it. Very happy with my decision. And down 56 pounds...[/quote']

Wtg...the sleeve was the best decision for me too, it's a tool and we have to work that tool! I am down 66 pounds and in better shape than I have been in years!! I have family members who had bypass and regained a lot of their excess weight, so I knew I didn't want that and besides I only had 70 pounds to lose.

  7. I am 5 months out and don't drink Water the same as before, I used to be able to guzzle 20oz room temp after working out, I cannot do that now. I can drink about 4-5 oz at a time, then wait a few minutes and drink some more. I can finish 28 ounces in an hour spinning class, and still be thirsty!

  8. Great job on switching to the salad. Once sleeved, as others have stated your meals change drastically. I think it's also great that your trying to teach your son good eating habits now while he is still young, so many young people are obese and struggle with their weight which becomes even more difficult as they age. Congrats to you...

  9. It does change lives, I had never heard of the sleeve until January of this year and went I thinking about getting a lapband. I am so happy my surgeon suggested the sleeve and I was fortunate to be the second sleeve he ever performed. It has changed my life and opened me eyes. Feels like now since I eat so little, I notice how much food is apart of our everyday lives, it's everywhere and rampant. We no longer eat to live, we live to eat. I noticed that when watching tv there are so many food commercials, now since I among hungry I don't jump up and grab something to eat but I know before I probably did. This tool has been life changing for me,it forces me to be aware of what I consume and to make good choices.

  10. What I won't miss....

Hating taking pictures bc I looked fat in them...

Getting rid of the 4 different sizes of clothes(12-18) I kept in my closet bc I knew I would regain the weight I lost regularly....

Never taking a picture in a bathing suit..l took my first bathing suit picture 2 months ago in Jamaica!!!!

The lack of motivation and desire to be healthy....

And MOST importantly....the 66 pounds I have lost since being sleeved on 3/14!!

I am so happy and healthy!! I run 5k races now, just finished yesterdays race in 35 minutes, I take spinning and Zumba, lift weights and am about to try crossfit!! I don't remember the last time I weighed 164....it was a LONG time ago! I won't miss being over 220 pounds ever again!! Great topic!

  11. You have done an amazing job already, you look amazing and most importantly healthy and happy!! I do think you should attempt to meet your personal goal just to show yourself that you can do it, and if you decide ten pounds from now that's enough and you don't want to lose 20 okay but at least you won't feel like you failed and didn't attempt to meet your goal. Congrats on being healthier and happier.

  12. ok give me your address too. I will mail them all out next week. They are really more for a 12. I am fitting into size 8 now' date=' so I have EVEN MORE! I have probably 40 dresses. OUT OF CONTROL! Do you want maybe 5 dresses or 10 dresses? Also I think they will fit in a flat rate shipping box <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I might even get them shipped out tomorrow if you can get back to me today!

If you are a size 10...These will be too big for you.[/quote']

Congrats on being a size 8 you rock!!! I currently have dresses that are a 12 and some that are a 10 and I fit both, so I would love to receive some. Are you charging for them and if so how much per dress and how are you asking that people pay? That will determine if i get 5 or 10 lol. My address is 1232 Tyler Street, Norristown PA 19401. Congrats again on your success I read your tickler and your progress is amazing and inspiring!!!

  13. I m sorry you had to go through that and just know it will get better. I had my gallbladder removed at the same time as my surgery. Many people don't have any issues with their gallbladder until after surgery because of the rapid weight loss, my gallbladder was full of stones before surgery it never bothered me and I found out by chance. Then I asked for a specific ultrasound of my gallbladder and that's how we found all the stones and my surgeon said he would remove the gallbladder during the surgery. I know it's rough but it will get better. Sending hugs your way...

  14. I would do it again, I have yo-yo dieted for years, been on every pill, shake, and plan you can think of. I reached my highest weight of 230 this year and have struggled with my weight since a teen. I would lose and gain and gain some more. I knew this was the right decision for me and I only had 70 pounds to lose. I say do you, enjoy your life and live your dream. I am 176 now and don't remember the last time I weighed 176 or felt this happy. I am more active now, I look and feel great and have so much more energy. I wish you the best!

  15. Hi, just wondering if anyone is interested in selling their fitbit. I have been wanting to get one and thought I would ask on this forum first before buying one. If anyone is interested in selling their fitbit, please reply or message me. Thanks a bunch!

  16. Updated: I was sleeved on 3/14 and chose the sleeve as I yo yo dieted for years and struggled with my weight constantly. I needed this surgery as I was t keeping the weight off long term, I would lose 20 and regain 35 in a matter of months. I was at my all time highest weight of 230 when I had surgery, I am 183 now. After being sleeved I lost alit of blood and had a small rough patch but never regretted my decision, the joy I feel as I eat a small meal and feel satisfied, how I don't think about food all day and how much more energy I have and how hard aim pushing myself to become stronger be it through spinning, running, weight lifting, I am challenging myself. I love my sleeve and without knowing all the long term effects or impacts of the sleeve, I would rate it a 9! It has helped me get a new attitude toward food and exercise and I will be forever grateful for that.

PS shouldblittler I am from the Philly area, we can be local buddies!!!
