Thank u so much, Mark and Fiddleman! I appreciate the feedback. I'm going to check out the link and try adding one component at a time. Anything is possible with systematic baby steps, right? Running is tough on the joints and I would like to be running for many many years. I also like the appeal of the reduction of injuries (this is a biggie) and increasing my times. I can't believe that I've been almost running for a year! That's a huge NSV for me. It's time to improve and fine tune. Thanks again!

At the risk of sounding like a dumbass, I'm just gonna put this out there... How complicated is it? I've read a couple articles and did a search online and the unknown is a bit scary. Lame, I know. I'm so UNcoordinated. I'm worried about messing with my gait. I think- why mess up a good thing? However, u guys really sell up the chi running. I can't imagine being able to relax if I'm running in a position where it feels like I'm falling, trying to hold imaginary butterflies, and counting my steps. Is this really something I could get from a book or is a workshop necessary? Love the shoes btw, BTB. I am currently in a pair of Asics- kayanos. They r like pillows for my feet with lots of support. I can't imagine running in a sandal type shoe. Fiddleman, I'm über impressed by ur times. Like I said, ur both very convincing.

Congrats! Major physical accomplishments! That 5k time is crazy- I'm envious. The sub hour 10k goal is within your grasp. I ran a sub hour 10k, but I have never ran a 5k in under 28 minutes. U can definitely do that. Thank u for sharing the pics as well. What an amazing transformation. The sleeve IS an amazing tool! Keep up the greatness.

Yay glendalee! I'm glad that u picked something and r using the membership. Paying the membership is the easy part- staying consistent and going is where the hard work and determination comes into play. It sounds like it was the perfect choice for u! Keep up the great work and enjoy watching the pounds come flying off!

It'll get better, but yes I went through that too! I was starving or the smell of food was torture- I wanted to eat real food. Of course that wasn't an option, so that's when I'd feel sad. I remember fighting the tears in a grocery store because I just wanted to buy food that I could eat. Lol. Some people recommend taking a ppi- like Prilosec. It's an acid reducer. This helps works for some. I was on it for the first two weeks after surgery and I was still hungry. I think a lot of my hunger was in my mind because eventually it got better. Happy healing!

Sad moods since wls
danyelleb replied to SLEEVEDNBEAUTIFUL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup, I think it's natural. I think I read somewhere that it has to do with hormones that are stored in our fat cells. I experienced a roller coaster of emotions. Now, I have to work on body image issues and adjusting to extra skin and a new reflection. This whole experience is a major adjustment. I found that exercise, good friends/family, and this site was useful for me. It's nice to know that I'm normal and that others experience the same feelings. -
My bariatric surgeon did not want me to go over 65. He had a cow when I told him that I was shooting for the 85-100 mark. He said that was too much for me. I'm 5'3 and in my thirties. I do increase my Protein tho over 100+ on days that I run or get in a good workout. Not a nutritional expert or anything, nor do I claim that this is right. It's my experience only. I think it's good to ask around, but be prepared for varied answers.

Yay u!! Congrats!

6 months out and not losing!
danyelleb replied to Jrussell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
U r absolutely right! I found that it was harder to lose around the six month mark, or it felt that way at least because I wasn't losing at such a rapid pace. People do need to be mindful and follow the guidelines in order to keep losing. Stay the course and be patient. -
I'm sorry that u feel so crappy. It'll get better. It'll take awhile, but it does get better. Hang on.

Hi guys! March 12th was my one year surgiversary. stay on top of ur meds, keep sipping, and try to walk just a little bit. It will help with gas pain. Gas pain hit me after two or three days. It was weird because it was in my shoulder. Crazy. Anyhow, take care and rest and heal.

I struggle with this too at times. I think the extra skin messes with my mind. I don't like it and it rears its ugly head while shopping. If I can grab and pinch a "roll", I think yuck that's gotta go. However I think that "roll" is excess skin. no matter how much weight I lose I'm still going to see the extra flab. I hope this makes sense.

Saggy In the Ass !

I feel you!! It is horrible, but I'll take saggy butt and no longer full tatas over morbid obesity any day!! My fat redistributes every so often and consistent exercise also helps. Hang in there! -

Hi Guys! It's been awhile since I've posted, so I figured I'd say hi and check in on the runners. I'm so impressed by the pics, BTB! U look amazing. Julie- where is the update about your half? Did I miss it? You ran the princess half, right?! Where are the details and pix lady?! Byanka- your half is this weekend, right?! Can't wait to hear about that one as well!!! Fiddleman, you are so DARN fast! I admire how you can run so consistently on a treadmill. Mass- I'm glad that things worked out for you. Pdxman, April will come and go before you know it. I completely understand about cursing runners as you drive by them in the car. This was me awhile ago. I had to take some time off and sadly, I fell behind on my training schedule. A marathon is not in my near future after all. I decided that it was not worth forcing something- the last thing I need is an injury. I will run one eventually. I ran a half last weekend and it was okay. This is week 2 of consistent running and boy, did I miss it! Apparently, so did my body- I lost two pounds!! I'm in the 120's. Never in a million years did I see that coming. Anyhow, I digressed... I'm elated to see that everyone is doing so well. Take care and keep running!! (or swimming until you can run )

One Year Surgiversary - with Pics
danyelleb replied to kyllfalcon's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow! U look AMAZING and happier. I was sleeved a year ago today. Isn't it crazy how much we have changed in one year? I too, used to not care much about my appearance- I wore a lot of black, jeans, and baggy sweatshirts. Yesterday I treated myself to a mani/pedi and I actually care what I look like. I feel awesome as well. Congrats on ur success and happy surgiversary!! -

Oh, Amytug, I'm sorry u feel so badly. I remember feeling that way. Like others have said, it will get better. Hang in there. I was miserable too and now I am so thankful that I was sleeved. My one year surgiversary is tomorrow! I'm down 106 pounds and love it. Hugs!!
