Oh my goodness- that is funny. I've never heard of moose knuckle. Sigh. That cracks me up.

Yay you! Congratulations, that is a HUGE accomplishment. Keep up the great work!

I take NSAIDs with my surgeons approval. I was cleared to start taking them a month after surgery.

Hi! I like the under armor compression shorts. They work wonders. I purchased them for twenty three bucks on sale at a Big 5.

Oh no! Well, keep us posted. I live in California and kaiser covered my surgery, but according to the medical statement the procedure cost about 40,000.

March Sleevers..are You Happy W/your Progress?
danyelleb replied to DDFinn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
"ONLY DOWN 47 POUNDS"?! That's a whole lotta. Congrats on the weight loss. I too, sometimes struggle with constipation. I think there a lot of us that do. Do a search and see what comes up... -
Yay u, Dorrie! I admire ur attitude and I appreciate that u put ur thoughts and actions into words. It's inspiring. Tomorrow will be a great day!

I felt light headed during the first couple of weeks too. The walking is good, but take it slow. I remember not feeling as tired and light headed after week 4.

Hi! Welcome to the loser's bench! So, hunger varies from person to person. I was sleeved 3/12 and distinctly remember feeling as if I was starving. I think I stopped feeling that way after a month out. It gets better gradually over time. I also remember smells made me feel really hungry too. I even wanted food that I usually hated because everything smelled so yummy. Hang in there. I wish u a speedy recovery.
-
Well rest up and remember to keep sipping even though it might feel yucky. i hope that one extra day is sufficient. Take care and I hope u will be feeling better soon.

Hi! I'm pretty similar. Sleeved the 12th and I'm down 56.4 pounds total- this includes preop diet. I too, am fitting in 14/16. I can't believe it. I've never been smaller than a 14, so I am looking forward to shopping eventually. On another note- can anyone reccomend a good compression short or shirt? I'm not liking the jiggly jiggly when I exercise. Have a great weekend!

What Do You Take For Pain Now?
danyelleb replied to kayte819's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey. My doc said that I was only restricted from ibuprofren for the first 30 days. He said I'm at same risk for ulcers as before. Tylenol is useless and I have joint issues that need the NSAIDs. -
For me, gum causes discomfort. I used to love chewing gum. I've heard of others that chew gum and have no problems. So, i think it depends on the person.

Fiber Intake And Stalls..
danyelleb replied to gmanbat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gmanbat- thanks for posting! This was a great thread. Bbj- the contribution u made was interesting. I had no idea that u could consume that many grams of fiber with berries! I've got a lot to learn. Re the last post about a daily BM- no it doesn't happen daily. I personally was using mom at least once a week. I absolutely hated this. So, I drink an apple juice on my strenuous gym days and I will have tuna on 3/4 slice of the double fiber bread. I was leery of adding the bread, but it is the only "bread" that I consume and it has been doing the trick. -
I was just looking into these the other day. I was reading somewhere that the compression garments help the skin during rapid weight loss. I think that my saggy butt and growing apron flap would appreciate the extra support while I'm jogging at the gym.

Hi! Three days left for me! I'm so excited. I had surgery in March. I'm looking forward to working out and trying out new foods and recipes that are sleeve friendly. Hooray SUMMER... Well, I'm teaching summer school- but that's only 4.5 hours a day. I will officially be done DONE in July.

27Ibs Loss After 4 Whole Months...feeling Horrible!
danyelleb replied to Mizz Diva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I was told specifically to stay away from those two things. I was told that the carbonation would stretch out my tummy. As for gum, I was told to stay away because it causes gas. For what it's worth tho- I was also told to stay away from straws too. I can drink from a straw with no gas pains. Gum on the other hand causes discomfort. As for carbonation- I stay away from it. -
