ThAnks I was on mfp but I stopped using it because I was beating myself up for eating too much sugar (like an apple), so I was teaching myself the wrong lesson
Now tracking with weight watchers! I do think mfp is Fab thou for people who enjoy fruit and veg! Me, not so much!

I must be the slowest loser ever! I've close to 40 lbs and am down 2 pant sizes. Although I notice and people notice weightloss this is not what I expected at my 6 month mark. I def eat less and make better decisions but this Ian so discouraging. My mother is always asking me to call the Dr to ask him why this didnt work. I wouldn't have been able to lose at all if I didn't have the surgery but I just thought I would have at least been down 60 lbs by now.Don't worry - I'm down the same amount! At least we are learning and making better decisions.
But yeh, I'm crazy disappointed.

I am just beginning but your plan sounds like something i would have resorted to back in my pre op days. Why not just go back to eating on plan? Protein first' date=' leave off the carbs, no Water before and after eating, etc. Seems like you are looking for a short cut and from experience, we all know there are no short cuts and many times we end up in worse shape. Of course, you need to do what you need to do for you, so if Optifast is it, i wish you the best.[/quote']
It's true, I'm a lover of shortcuts!
Hmmmm I just thought of it as a good kick start back into eating on plan - I keep going back to eating on plan and then someone has a morning tea, one of my flatmate buys some Cadbury favourites to share and it just goes downhill. One extreme to the other. I've never been able to eat in moderation!
I'm also a slave to carbs!
Sigh. I'll try opti for a week cos I've already bought it, then hopefully get back into it!
I keep getting excercise crazy to the extent where my B12 and Iron is shot and I need to get shots to get it back to normal, then I go into a slump where I'm too scared to do anything or ill get low everything again! Really need to short my **** out! Hahha.
Ill get there, even if its a million times slower then most others

Hey guys - Im in Canberra!
Ive only gone down 25kgs since June (i mean yay or whatever). Anyway. Thinking of revisiting Optifast for a week or 2 everynow and then to kick start?
Thoughts?
I might try the Iso whey as well
Ive heard optifast is the best one because its nutritionlly complete, where as the others (tony ferguson etc) are only aimed at 1-2 meals a day so are full of sugar and other rubbish (I checked this too) - so im nervous about using these other ones. hmm.

Crossfit? That sounds intense! Could you be building muscle and slimming down even tho scale isn't moving?
Sorry! Just saw this maybe a tiny bit, but it wouldn't be too exciting! Not enough to warrant the slowness

We Got 'Em just recently. I haven't tried them yet though.
They are good! I tracked on mfp and honestly, they were no wear near as bad as I was expecting!

Ahhh perfect! That's really good to know I'll talk to PCP tomorrow just to be safe!
Thanks for your help!

Yep! Everything in tact - surgery went as planned & no dramas at all with it (easy mushies, easy liquids, walking, no pain meds etc)
-
So this morning, I'm at my local market with my little stall set up - all is good in the world!
Then BAM, insane chest pain and both collarbones are screaming at me! So i get up and walk around thinking its just the gas pain everyone is talking about (I'm almost 3 weeks out, no pain or drama until now).
After 30mins of walking around (super slow), can't hold a sentence - can't breathe- extremely shallow and wow it hurts! Collarbone pain gone.
Make a few calls to my doctor friends, told to go to ED right now.
In ED, start to get better (awkward when i was reading out my phone number - 0 breath 4 breath 1 breath lol) saw doc, saw another doc, took liquid panadol, get pushed to chest X-rays - all clear!
What the!
This was 12 hours ago, can still feel the pain! No where near as bad, but its there!
I have to go back straight away if any more dramas and they will do a scan incase its a clot
Has anyone else had anything like this?
My BP and O2 levels were fine as well, I've stopped my daily clexane shots (to avoid blood clots) and still taking somac (anti reflux meds).

It's strange how some doctors will allow certain foods before others. My surgeon's instructions indicate week 5 for eggs. I can't imagine why that would be the case, but it is....
It is bizarre how they vary!!
Did he say why you have to wait 5 weeks?
-
hahhaha thanks! It makes me smile every time I see it!
Alrightly cool! I'll keep at it (cos it was amazing) and maybe have another one tomorrow and see how it goes!
Ive noticed i have 0 problem with full shakes as well! Its weird!
Im just worried about stuffing it up since theres 0 restriction!
Also, no gas or acid! hmmm

i was walking around in hospital with my Pj's and wheeling my drip around!
so from day 1 move as much as u can
PEvette reacted to this -
so im 2 weeks out, had a scrambled egg for lunch today as I'm now allowed soft/puree
Can eat a full scrambled egg, no problem!
Is that strange?
I see posts about people who can only eat 1/3 or 1/2
Bit concerned about how I'm not feeling any restrictions with a whole scrambled egg (scrambled with about 60ml of milk) took me maybe 20mins to eat and at the end I don't feel...anything. Not full, not hungry, nothing!
Cheers

u guys are so lucky insurance will pay for you!
In aus we don't have that option unless we pay a mint (around $200 a month) for really high up private health cover, then we are still out of pocket at least 9k.
If we self pay we are up for about 20k (I paid)
ouch.
ok sorry rant over.

I've just had the surgery 2 weeks ago, and so far so good!
The way I looked at it was, been there done that! Yes i could loose the weight on my own, I have in the past but this is a long term assistance tool not my usual diet and exercise until someone invites me to dinner or drinks thing.
So far no problems with the food, i find I still want to eat the rubbish not so much in a head hunger way just if i see it I want it, and if its ok in my 2 week thing, yep sweet ill have it. But I'm happy with only a tiny amount (for example its taken me a week to eat 1/2 a tub of low fat moose). 1 or 2 tiny teaspoons and I've had my hit! (3 weeks ago me would not stop at a teaspoon) Don't get me wrong, I could easily polish off the whole tub even at 2 weeks out, but I don't find I need to or want to.
I have no idea about long term, hoping it works out ok. But I have accepted that it won't just fall off me because I went in with the lower BMI and already quite fit
also, my BMI was 38 day of surgery, but when i decided to have the surgery it was 34 - I just got a bit crazy in the lead up to surgery. Also I'm 5'7

this pickle thing is hilarious!! How random!

i was craving Jaffas and freckles (don't know if USA has these... chocolates) a week out, I found the only way was to have one! And I did. Bad Kat.
But I sucked on it until it melted, got my hit and I've been fine ever since!
