Biggest Omg Moments?
I too have discovered this, lol. Anything without a cushion now isn't neccesarily uncomfotable.....but they absolutely aren't as comfortable as they were when I had my builti in cushion. I had an OMG topper......just found out we're going to have a new baby. Thought my little swimmers maybe dead.....don't know if the weight loss and exercise revitalized them....but here we go!!!

Biggest Omg Moments?
I just want to see what others felt have been there biggest OMG moments after surgery. Mine was this summer....we went on a family vacation this summer to SoCal. First OMG...the plane ride. I FIT!!! Last time I flew I overflowed out the seat and had to use a seat belt extender....this time, fit comfortably between the arm rests and no extension. I even had slack left over once I cinched the seat belt down!!! Second, we went to six flags....and again I FIT!!!! Last time I went to six flags I had rides I embarrassingly had to get off because I couldn't fit........this time, FIT ON EVERY FREAKING ONE OF THEM!!!! And the final OMG, I'm not ashamed to say the sex with the wife is amazing!!! Its like when we were dating 14yrs ago....holy crap, I mean I know how much rolls and all that get in the way...but just don't realize how much until they are gone. I know that last on maybe a little much for some, but sorry....I'm just gooshing with good things!! The wife is actually getting a bit tired of me pointing out all the things I can fit into now that I couldn't before.....activity wise, not the sex.....

Has Anyone Tried Zero Carb Isopure?
I'm with you....I hated the Isopures....but I wasn't able to drink any of the whey stuff without puking, literally. The only protein shake that my NUT said was ok and that I could drink without any problems, and it tastes really really good, was Bolthouse Mango Protein shake, 32g protein per bottle. I'm out of surgery 6months now and it still tastes good to me. You can thin it down if its to thick right after surgery....but yeah...mmm good.

Having Surgery Sept 5.. Having The Last Supper Syndrome.. Help!
At the hospital you'll be at...they'll give you a couple of choices for the protein drink the day after the surgery. I reccomend the carmel flavor. None of them are that good, and you'll only be taking a few sips of it anyways....but the carmel tasted the "best" out of them.....at least thats what I thought.

How Much Do I Exercise?
May seem a silly questions...but still. How much should I be exercising now? I go in for my 6month the end of September now. I feel great and am currently doing 3 times a week in the gym, about an hour to an hour and a half per visit. Should I be doing 5 days a week in the gym? I'm stil losing weight, not at the rocket pace I started at, but I'm told thats normal. What are your thoughts or how you all do it? Right now I have it split up.....30min of cardio, walking, jogging, eliptical...I switch it up, the rest of the time is weights.

Gain Weight After Gym?
Only been going to the gym a little while now, still only taking in about 900-1000 calories a day, but the last couple of days I weighed I have gained a bit. Is this normal? I am lifting now and doing cardio both.....

Goal Weight?
Highschool skinny just blows my mind. I never thought I would get this far....best thing that I have ever done for myself.

5 Days Post Op And No Energy.
I wasn't walking a lot at first, not because of pain or anything, but because like you said...I just ran out of steam real quick. The energy will slowly come back, and will get to a point where you're scratching your head wondering where the energy came from. I just hit a energy slump this last week, but I think my protein is below where it needs to be. Anyways, long story longer...it will get better and you will be walking where ever you want....it just takes a bit of time to get back.

Gastric Sleeve 2 Wk Post Op
Good job! It just keeps going and getting better!!!

Goal Weight?
Doc wanted me at 200lbs.....I wasn't 200lbs in highschool. I chose the weight I was my senior year in highschool, 215lbs. That was my most active and when I felt the best about myself, body wise. Granted 200lbs isn't much further below.....but I just don't see myself hitting that one.

Lack Of Exercise - Energy Level?
Great, thank you all. I am currently taking 1000mg B12 daily, should it be more than that??

Ugh The Smell
The one I found, which may not be best but my NUT applauded me for finding one is called BoltHouse Mango Protein smoothie. I have tried tons of protein and they all cause me to throw up, no lie. The BoltHouse Mango is my saving grace. I can't have it every day, but it does fill a need. Usually have one for Breakfast every other day....takes me about 2-3hrs to drink the whole thing...but at least I'm getting the protein. This is only an 8oz guide, I have 16oz's for my breakfast.

Lack Of Exercise - Energy Level?
Ok.....I'm down 100lbs, I have had my measurements and I've lost a little bit more muscle than they wanted to by this stage, but its not bad. I haven't really done anything but some walking and swimming as far as exercises go. I just joined a gym to start doing weights 3times a week, this starts actually tomorrow. The question I have is that my energy level sucks lately, like for the last week. Before that I had plenty of energy. Are there peeks and valleys in regards to my energy level, and will that be more balanced once I have a "standardized" less sporatic exercise routine?

Stall, Not Upset...just Perplexed
Ok...I've done awesome and am very VERY pleased with my success, lost 86# in 3 months, but I've hit my first big stall since surgery and am pretty sure its exercise related.....just want to bounce this off you all to make sure my thinking is correct. I've been down 1# up 1#, going back and forth for two weeks now. I've been doing walking and eating between 800-1000 calories a day, protein first. I just had my 3 month and was told I need to start hitting the gym and lifting. Is that whats got me in the stall......not doing the lifting yet? In fairness my walks are a nice relaxed pace, I was told to do it that way right now, so its not like my cardio is that heavy. Any guidance or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Belly Button Pain?
Ok, weird stuff. I feel great, out two months and have lost 69lbs so far. A couple of days ago my belly button became quite soar though. Anyone else have this happen before?

Gurgle Gurgle Gurgle
Ok, cool. Like I said, no pain...not really worried....just thought it weird. Cool, at least I'm not a complete freak, lol. Thanks all.

When Did You Eat Salad?
I just had my one month last week and like you have been tolerating everything wonderfully. My NUT said to go ahead and eat what I want now, salads and fresh fruit/vegetables included....raw or cooked. Just make sure to chew really well. I am having my first salad tonight....so we'll see how it goes.

Gurgle Gurgle Gurgle
Ok...this is weird stuff....5 weeks postop, but after I always eat my stomach makes all kinds of weird noises. I'm not in pain, I haven't had any issues up to this point, knock on wood, so what could be causing all the gurgling in my stomach now? Bathroom habits are normal....not really worried...just more curious what it could be? Anyone else have this happen or know what is causing it? Just weird is all.

16 Days Since Surgery And I Want To Eat Something!
I know exactly what you mean.....but just be prepared....eating normal food will be weird too. I was fully expecting once I started normal foods thing would be smooth sailing....and they kind of have been since I haven't really had complications or anything I couldn't eat, but eating has gone from an enjoyable endeavor to a chore. With my unhealthy relationship with food I wouldn't go back to the other for all the tea in China....but it does take some getting used to. I was on liquids for 2 wks, and then mushies for 2 weeks, which I'm still on....but I have been having the random pickle and chicken. Pickles absolutely filled my craving to crunch and chew and swallow...they were a life saver. Just make sure you can take a pickle and don't overload since they are FILLED with sodium.
-
Eating Is A Chore Now!
Thank you all for the feedback and support! On another note, it was probably bad, but I ate a pickle today....it was AWESOME! Tasted so good and my sleeve apparently loved it. For lunch I had cream of chicken soup......my sleeve didn't love that so much. I'm just stoked about pickles, I know a lot of sodium, but in moderation those should be ok at 3 weeks shouldn't they?
-
Eating Is A Chore Now!
Obviously I had an unhealthy relationship with food if I needed to get this surgery, and something needed to change. Granted I'm only 3 weeks out but even eating my mushiness feels like a chore. Anyone else get this feeling? Does it pass?

Nephrectomy, One Kidney Concerns
Oh....correction, I'm two weeks out, not three, lol
-
Nephrectomy, One Kidney Concerns
Well, kind of, lol. I haven't been able to do the shakes or fruit drinks or anything yet.....they have been the only thing that make me ill. Now, that being said, I am only 3 wks out of surgery and my NUT said it was not uncommon in the first month to not be able to hit the required protein. I eat Greek yogurt, and pureed bean soups and such so I can get some protein in, but as far as someone telling me to limit my intake, haven't heard that yet.

Nephrectomy, One Kidney Concerns
Howdy! I was sleeved on 3/14 and came through with flying colors. I have only one kidney due to a birth defect, and it was a big concern for me as well. I asked everyone, my surgeon, my general doc, my Gastro doc, my NUT. They all said there shouldn't be any issues and I'm now down 43lbs! I would still ask and make your surgeon aware to see if they have concerns, but I'm good! Good luck
