  1. I'm super excited and happy to share that I'm almost 6months out and I'm down 178lbs... This was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I'm a mother and wife and always put them first and let myself go tremendously... I was diabetic, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, on baby aspirin daily- you name it I had it... I researched for 5 yrs until one day I told my husband I'm ready and he was on the ball the next day... So now I've signed up for nursing school and started my new way of life in a healthier version... I know I have a long way to still go but I'm taking it day by day and loving my new life... Thank you all for posting all the information it has helped so so much...

  2. Thank you everyone! It was time to change and that's exactly what I did. I'm still the same person inside but not outside. It is refreshing to have a site where you can share the positives and negatives and not feel judged! Glad to have you all :)

  3. I am 80 pounds down from surgery on 8-8-2011. My hubby took a pic of me this morning on my way to lecture at a local college. I dont usually dress fancy for work because of what I do' date=' but since I was dressed up, I let him take my photo. I will include a before pic so you can appreciate the difference! The first two pics are from my trip to Brazil with my family in March of 2011. I was about 235 pounds then. I am 154 today, the last picture.

I am so excited to have made it this far. I am 9 pounds from having a normal BMI. I am still working my sleeve and trying. I am in a bit of a plateau right now and they seem to be coming closer and closer together, just like the surgeon said they would. I am 20 pounds from my personal goal. I felt so good in these clothes today. Size 10 banana Republic slacks and a size medium blouse. Yay me![/quote']

    Beautiful!!

  4. I can't believe it's been almost a year since I had my surgery. It has definitely been a journey and I am so glad I have been able to accomplish so much.

I am so close to getting out of the 200's! I can almost taste onederland! My weight loss has considerably slowed but I am still pushing forward and I definitely feel great!

    The difference amazes me still:

    You look amazing! Congrats

  7. Hi Elainarose! Congratulations! Doesn't it feel great to feel your pants falling off?!?

I do still have them and have yet to take pictures <_< Do you have anything you are looking for specifically? Jeans' date=' work pants, tops, etc.?[/quote']

Congrats on your success... I'm 7wks out and down 62lbs... I'm surrently in a 26 but losing quickly so hoping to fit into 24's very soon... Capris and tummy control would be amazing and any tops would be helpful... My sister is also losing and she has many L/XL items if you'd like to trade...

  8. 6 weeks post-op and down 55lbs... Doctors stopped all my oral meds and reduced my insulin to a fraction of what I was on... Having so much energy and loving the success! Thank you all for being so helpful and supportive! It has really helped out a lot! Couldn't do it without my families love and support, support group, doctors, nutritionists, and all of you! Xo

  9. So I went to the dr's today for my physical and I was amazed to find out I was down 43 lbs in 30 days today! Not only that but my A1C was 12 about 3 months ago and it is now at a 6.9! I was still a little anemic and my Vitamin D was a little low so I have to add some more Vitamin D and some iron! It was such a positive appointment and for me it is usually very predictable and I normally would get meds added and adjusted but not this time I had meds removed! Thank you all for being so supportive and helpful...

  10. I have officially lost 110 lbs since my highest weight of 440 in early November 2011. My surgery was on 11/16 and as of this morning' date=' less than 5 months later, I am 330. This was my best case scenario I had in mind going into the surgery but I think part of me tried to say don't get your hopes up, etc. I've stayed very consistent with my food choices, high Protein, low sugar/carb, lots of Water, and a Vitamin regimen daily.

My next big goal will be to get into the 200's so I'm hoping the scale reads 299 by the end of May. For anyone out there that wants to know if this surgery works if your over 400 lbs, I would say YES IT DOES! I still have a long road ahead of me but as of today I would not trade my sleeve for any of the other surgeries. I've had zero problems eating any types of food...red meat, chicken, seafood, vegetables, etc. I have ate very little starches and sugars like fruit, potatoes, Pasta, etc but the few I have did not cause me any problems at all.

Thanks for all the encouragement and support on this forum, I am not sure I would have went through with any of this had I not found so many people that were having success with the sleeve. Hopefully you'll be getting another success story update in a few months when I say goodbye to the 300's forever![/quote']

Great Job! I'm very close to your numbers and I'm 25 days out and 31lbs lost so far! This is a journey and I am glad to be sharing it with the people on this forum as well.... Keep on rockin it!

  11. A ramekin is like a little casserole dish' date=' but they are generally small, i.e. one serving. I have a couple of different ones and I use this recipe when my family is having spaghetti, I just do the ricotta and the Tomato sauce and sprinkle it with cheese, and then I don't eat the Pasta.

And I could eat cheese fairly early out, like 3+ weeks out cheese was okayed for me.[/quote']

    I can't find a ramekin anywhere! I live in Ny and I need one,lol...
