Don't know if this is the proper forum or not, but just wanted to share something. If you haven't seen the movie "Supersize Me", I would highly recommend it. It's one man's journey eating nothing but McDonald's for 30 days. His health totally tanks! Not only that, there are conversations with Doctor's, Nutritionist's, etc., discussing the overall effect of fast food. What really struck me was the addictive nature of unhealthy food. It's amazing. Pretty much from the very beginning he became addicted. He would be feeling sick, tired, depressed, and then eat something from McDonald's and suddenly he was feeling great. Amazing. I never really thought about what all that junk was doing to me.

For some reason, I don't have a problem with eggs in any form. I'm 6 weeks post-op, and started eating scrambled eggs at week 3. It's a good thing too, as I have chickens that I raise specifically for their eggs.

I had the band to sleeve revision on 3/22/12, and am loving it! If you are on Facebook, I would recommend the facebook page "Failed Lap-Bands and Realize Bands". It's a fantastic source of information as well, and just about everyone on there has either had a revision, or are trying to get one. I had my band in 2007 and it didn't work well for me. Through various trials and errors, we ended up emptying it in 2009. I was "stuck" and "sliming" every single day! No more!! Since getting the sleeve, life has been so much more enjoyable!

Earlier this week, I gave away 4 trash bags filled with my 24's, 22's, 20's and 18's! I am now in 16's and can't believe it. Just 1 more size down and I'll be shopping in the "normal" area of the Department store. BTW - I hear their fitting rooms are nicer

My surgeon didn't require any of that (thankfully). Are you doing a pre-op diet too? I had to do full liquids 10 days prior to surgery - maybe that took care of it?

I am so thankful that my girlfriends are all kind, thoughtful, loving women. They were that way when I first met them, and they've become even more so the longer I get to know them. I am grateful that God put them in my life. When I lived in Dallas, most of my female co-workers "labeled" a new female employee within the first 5 minutes of her working there. I never understood that. It's a shame that the women they polled were so shallow.

Pic's are definitely the way to go. I took a pic of my face 4 days post-op, and then again today at 6 weeks post-op. I could see a difference in the pics, but not when I looked in the mirror

Congratulations! Love the before and after photo's!

That is so sweet! My DH told me this morning, "Honey, you're getting so skinny"!!!! He said he likes to hug more because I feel smaller in his arms. Gotta love those guys!

Congratulations! What an amazing accomplishment! I'm only 6 weeks post-op, and can't wait to get to my 1 year!! What an inspiration.

Home now. Everything went great. Getting in my Water with no problems. It feels really good with my sore throat. Discomfort is tolerable. I'm walking a little every hour. They had to fix a hiatal hernia so my chest between shoulders in front is slightly sore trying to get big breaths in. Husband is being awesome! Go back in tomorrow at 7 am to pump in more fluids. Nap time now :-)
Stats:
Pre oop appt weight 253
DOS weight 233

Congratulations! I can't believe that you're home the same day! That's just amazing!!! Please keep us posted.

Just curious . . . has anyone else here noticed that several posts refer to the kids menu having "fried foods", and such? Is this maybe a way we're setting up the next generation to be unhealthy?? Just sayin . . . .

Nice job!! You must feel so awesome. Now, the question is...did you do the happy dance in the mirror? this is very important.
I did it in the dressing room, outside the dressing room, AND on the main floor of the Dept store !!

I'm doing great! Really loving my sleeve. It is definitely the best decision I've made in a loooooong time!

My surgeon gives the cards out at the 6 week check up. Mine's next week, and I plan on getting one . . . just in case.
I've heard folks refer to the OH website, but I never knew what it was.

Prior to surgery I wore a size 24. Today, I had to go buy new pants because all my other one's were too big. So I went to the store and tried on 20's . . . . to big, then I tried on 18's . . . .STILL too big. I then tried the 16's and they fit!!!!!!! I haven't worn 16's in over 20 years!!!!! I am so LOVING my sleeve!
Thinking Of Getting Rid Of My Band For The Sleeve.....advice?

I had the band in 2007 - lost about 45lbs in 7 months. Then everything started going downhill. By 2009, I couldn't eat anything without getting stuck - EVERY SINGLE TIME! Soon it was just junk food in order to get something in my tummy. Obviously, I gained it all back. I had the sleeve on 3/22/12, and haven't looked back. The Surgeon said I had a tremendous amount of scar tissue, but he was still able to remove 85% of my stomach - no leaks - and I have never been happier. No more getting stuck, having problems drinking, and back to eating "normal" healthy foods. For me, this was the best thing I've ever done.
