I had to drink a bottle of mag citrate, it wasn't that big. It works pretty quickly, so stay clost to home! I would definitely follow the directions of your surgeon, everything they order is for a reason.

I'm not telling, because I guess I'm a pig.

You can't. No fat suit will ever put a skinny person in a fat person's head. It's an addiction. I personally cannot understand how someone can be addicted to cigarettes. So I just imagine that that is how a skinny person sees a food addiction. Some skinny people may be able to rationalize that, but really truly understand it and feel it? No, not going to happen.

Silly....you should've worn your ankle weights. haha. I actually know a lady that wore weights strapped to her legs under her skirt for her initial weigh in! -

Females often get a falsely elevated ST segment. Hopefully its nothing. -
I think that no matter what the motive, if it makes you uncomfortable, your husband shouldn't be taking part in it.

Oh, My Gosh! Have I Talked Myself Out Of Having Wls?
5DoxieMom replied to K33's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, the only person that can decide if this is the right decision, is yourself. It may not be the right time for you, and the right time may or may not come. When I had made the final decision...it was my health, not my mind, that had me backed into a corner! Although I was in the opposite corner of you! Surgery was my last ditch effort at losing weight, I had failed at all other attempts. If you are young enough, maybe you have a choice. It seems that at some point age and health leave you with NO choice. Vanity is not even in the equation. -
Don't worry, you'll be able to eat again! Those first 5 or 6 weeks out are really hard...both physically and emotionally. It will be OK. I'm over 4 months out, life is normal. I can eat almost anything, only just little bits. I have trouble with beef. Veggies from my garden go down just great. Asparagus, artichokes, beets, kale and turnips.
-
I have days like that too. Sometimes I can just eat and eat and eat. Other days, I don't have much interest. It does seem that if I start the day out with a protein shake, and really keep up on my water intake, I have less interest in food. Head hunger, boredom, addiction, whatever the reason, it is a true battle.

Are you taking B-12? Its probably about time for labs, they can check to see what you're lacking.

Body Dysmorphia In Reverse
5DoxieMom replied to Christine1322's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should take your measurements....I didn't, and now I wish that I had. I'm 4 months out. IMO....don't listen to naturally skinny people....they dont' get it. -
That would p*ss me off too. The most important thing is the confidence that you have in the surgeon. But again, if you don't get to have the surgery, it won't matter how competent the guy is. The office staff can be annoying and really make life miserable. Can you call your insurance company directly and ask them if you could switch? Or find out what else you can do from their perspective to move things along. How about bribery? A box of chocolates delivered in person to the office staff as you check for updates? You know the old saying....you get more bees with honey....or is that flies????

Biotin can be found where any vitamins are sold. It hasn't helped my hair yet, but my fingernails are like daggers.

Welcome. Hopefully after all the research you do, you will be less 'freaking out' when your time comes! And, the site is much easier to navigate on laptop vs. phone. -
Head hunger is such an evil demon. At 4 months out, I battle it daily. Some days are easier than others.... I've even tried hypnotherapy, as well as regular therapy, but haven't found a therapist that can get to the root of my problem. It's like Oprah said, "its not about the food." Even though I realize that, I can't seem to figure out what it is about.

....a few weeks down the road.

I remember for the first 5 or 6 weeks after surgery, I was a little crazy...easily angered, very emotional. Be careful not to say or do anything that you will be sorry for. Maybe you're overly sensitive right now. Just take a deep breath and hopefully things will seem better.

Try a heating pad.

Well, I'm slower than any of you. Sleeved March 12, down 31 lbs. But I haven't given up. I'm just slow. Sometimes I think people who lose a lot, were maybe used to taking in a lot of calories before surgery??? I always kept my calories between 1200 and 1400 calories a day. I couldn't lose a single pound for years at that intake. My body is very efficient, and makes use of every calorie. Now eating 700-900 calories a day, my body is adjusting to lower intake. I've been in starvation mode for decades, it seems. Not fair at all.

Have To Hold My Belly When I Walk
5DoxieMom replied to lowe1961's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Instead of buying an expensive abdominal binder, maybe one of those back support things that people wear for work.....for lifting things....it seems like they would be cheaper, don't know. -
What Have You Heard?
5DoxieMom replied to AnewMe@28's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get them at my local grocery store, Fred Meyers. There by the bulk foods, by bags of flaxseed, steel cut oats, etc. I think the brand is Red Mills. -

I would love to post about the conversations that I've had with my French Lops, but I don't speak French, and their English is lousy!
