  1. I have serious back issues & need surgery that I won't be getting any time soon. Pre sleeve I popped Motrin like candy & took Percocet daily, but post sleeve Percocet KILLS my stomach &makes me sick. I can't tale vocodin & Tylenol is ridiculously useless. I haven't seen my pcp about it yet, but wondered what you guys are taking for pain??

    Awesome Nsv!

That is a GREAT nsv!!!!!!! I cannot wait for this since I feel like it's currently a seriously dangerous mission :$ Also looking forward to not being to self consciousness for a Brazilian wax! Whooohooo to getting our sexy back!
  3. Cherrybomb......NOT supposedbto take ibuprofen ever again post-op. It can cause major ulcers for us!!!! That said, what you explained ypur Percocet experience as is exactly like mine! And I used to take A LOT, so much so that pain mngmt was the #1 concern of my surgeon post-op since I has such a tolerance for it built up. I didn't have any issues immediately following surgery, but now if I take it my stomach KILLS for hours & I sweat & have thrown up. The stomach pain is bananas!!! So now idk what to take for real pain

    Very Bad Day Today :-(

Awww That's beyond a horrible day. I've learned throughout this process that I am both a stress eater & a total glutton andddd I suffer from immense guilt when I eat "bad food". I really oppose feeling like I'm on a diet....it brings out my inner rebel & I make poor choices all the time.......a handful of my kids goldfish, a few bites of my husbands klondike bar....on & on. And w/out eating the bread the subway is a good choice so let that go!! A few cheese doodles won't kill you, but.it's easier if you get your head in the game earlier rather than later. So, brush off those cookie crumbs & move on! Tomorrow is a new day Please keep us posted on how you're doing!!

    Very Bad Day Today :-(

Wellll, if you want the truth......you shouldn't be eating chips or bread AT ALL right now. Those should be at the top of your "do not" list!! You need tp focus on getting in your Protein. If you're eating protein you won't have as much room for "sliders", which is what that stiff is.....it slides right down & the scale stops sliding down. So, what an average day might look like: Egg w/cheese Greek yogurt Protein shake salad w/ chicken, cheese & nutrient rich greens like spinach. Eat your protein first then nibble on a little lettuce. Babybell cheese w/ melba toast Moist fish like talapia w/ a little bit of veg, like green Beans Sf pudding or sf popcicle, yogurt, etc. Or a Protein Bar. Granted, I don't eat this way everyday, but try to nip bad habits NOW while it's easier to stay on track....Didnt your NUT give you a list of things you should eat?

Kinda Naughty Nsv Dont Fuss At Me

Carls Junior has some great options too. The charbroiled chicken club is sooo good & they.make it w/ lettuce instead of a bun if you ask. Grilled chicken, cheese & bacon. 7 carbs & 30 protein. Definitely multiple meals!
  10. Has anyone tried it??

    Super Depressed :(

Going off of effexor causes HARD CORE depression....my husband can't even bare to be around me if I miss 3 days. Those 2 meds do completely differwnt things - effexor is an anti-depressant & anti-anxiety med, whereas lamictal is a mood stabilizer. I take both, because if you suffer from depression you should be on both. Talk tp your Dr asap!! This is likely the cause of your depression & hyper-focus. Once you're more emotionally balanced I think you'll find that 6 mos of waiting to have surgery for free (more or less) isn't that bad. It took me almost 5 YEARS to get my insurance company onboard but it's done now & I am a true believer in all things happening for a reason.....maybe this is God intervening to prevent something catastrophic on your June date. One just never knows! Try to stay positive & keep your eye on the prize. Six mos FLIES by. And get your meds fixed!!!!!!
  12. You look amazing!! Beautiful!! As for the pg question, I'm positive this is not ideal but a friend of mine got pg 4 mos after bypass & had a big healthy baby & still lost 100 lbs total & her baby is only 3 mos old. Crazy!!

    Boobies

I started out a 44H & they were still pouring over the top & sides. Now they fit into the cups nicely, BUT they are like tube socks now and my hubby said "oh well, their perkiness was an anomaly to begin with.after breastfeeding 4 kids" as of its no biggie. He is really not a fan of fake boobs so he doesn't want me tp get them, but I already told him tough !! Saline, here I come!

  15. As I tend to be a "glancer", I saw your name & thought it said Lloyd the humper.......lol, sorry! Glad to stand corrected!

    Memorial Day Challenge!

Omg. It's as if I said I'd do this & the scale froze As of today I'm 252. Only a couple weeks left & 12# to go to reach my goal. Looks unlikely, but I'm going to try to stay positive & aim for success! Starting yoga today!!
  17. There was a whole thread about this very topic under general discussion. Search jeans for small waist big thighs....its on page 2 under general discussion. Hope this helps!!
  18. I can't speak to specifics as it pertains to the sleeve, but I can say that after I had c-sections I waited about 5 days to climb up our stairs & it felt totally fine. One factor is that each of us are different. Some people feel amazing after 2 days & hike....I felt like **** for weeks. I think it all depends. Definitely walk as much as you can stand from the first day & build up your strength!! Good luck on your surgery & here's to a speedy recovery!!
  19. Sleeved 1/28/12. I've lost a total of 62# but in the last month its only been 5 or 6 lbs. I admittedly don't work out so I know that needs improvement stat!! Because I need back surgery I find even short walks to be painful & I've stopped taking all my pain meds for my back because they make me soooo sick since being sleeved. I'm going to start yoga tomorrow to see if that feels ok. Otherwise will have to join a gym, which is an expense I don't want to add to our budget right now if I can avoid it. I track every single thing I eat & average around 800 cals/day. I'm not a carb nazi because I don't want to feel like a dieter anymore, after a lifetime of yo-to dieting, but I eat Protein first & eat no bread, rice, sugar, etc. I drink the occasional carb free beer, like michelob ultra, but no other straying away from my Water, unsweetened tea or daily coffee. I don't eat a lot of chips, though occasionally have a couple when out for Mexican or something like that. I'm on myfitpal & my diary is an open book so if you're on there & would like to view it, feel free! So, please, please tell me why I'm not losing????? It's still the so-called honeymoon phase so shouldn't I still be losing a decent amount? I've been between 255 & 253 foreverrrrr. HELP ME!!!!!

    Protin Bars

I started having them about 4 wks out, but found most of them to be so dense it was daunting to ear an entire one. I HIGHLY recommend trying the Power Crunch bars because they are not dense....they are like wafer cookies. So much easier to eat & they actually taste good! I but them at my grocery store (frys which is a Kroger chain) as well as Trader Joe's. Good luck!!!

    Hair Loss Solution

I'm sure there is some accuracy in the protein to hair loss correlation, BUT I've had 2 c-sections in the last 4 years & at 3.5 mos out I'm just starting to see some hair loss that looks exactly like what I experienced after those 2 surgeries as well. The timing & amounts I'm losing are the same. I was told when I freaked out after c-section #1 that the shock on the body from surgery & anesthesia causes the hair loss. I don't see how this would be any different because as a total carb monster prior to surgery, I'd imagine that while I'm consuming so fewer cals I'm probably eating more protein than I was. And yet my sister wouldn't even let me in the kitchen tonight at her house because of the hair all over the back of my shirt, lol. It won't last long so don't freak out!! In the meantime, use it to get you out of cooking & kitchen cleaning duties hahaha!

    Bust Open My Sleeve

Don't be too hard on yourself! I'm 3.5 mos out & still eat too fast sometimes & make myself unbearably sick. I usually throw up if I do this, my body can't take the discomfort. Also, chicken is still hard for me, as is beef. I try to stick to fish as much as I can since it seems to be the easiest on my sleeve. I doubt you didany damage - we all have to *learn* our sleeves & unfortunately this is done by trial & error. One thing I'd recommend is measuring everything & actively thinking while you're eating in order to slow it down. That said, it still happens sometimes so give yourself some slack! Make sure you're eating what you've been told & pace yourself! If you get a fever, call your surgeon! Otherwise, don't worry too much!! Good luck!
  23. 24. Eat. I don't know what my problem is. I do get hungry, but everything I try for the last few days makes me feel like s#!%. I'm not sure how to remedy this, but I'm not losing at all -not an ounce all week & only 1# last week- and I feel like I'm stumped! Yesterday I tried a taco w/o the shell & threw up. Tried a salad w/ cheese & almonds, thinking maybe the meat was bothering me, but the salad made me super naseaus so I went to bed. The other day I had my absolute favorite salad w/ chicken & felt so-so, but when I tried to eat the rest for dinner I felt like I was going to throw up. Ditto the next day w/ seared tuna. I feel fine unless I'm trying to eat. Im definitely not sick. My morning coffee w/ half&half doesn't bother me & I've had a Protein shake which goes ok. I just don't want to eat! I'm forcing myself. Today all I've had is coffee, a few cashews & half of a muscle milk light. Everything sounds gross & makes me feel gross. I'm a little over 3 mos out (1/28/12) & I've lost 61#, but 35 of that was the first month post-op. I know if I was eating more calories I'd probably be losing better. Anyone been through this? Any advice?
  25. I'm boring.......Kayte is my name & 8/19 is my birthday. On another wks forum I'm Kate+weight, but thought since I'm dropping the weight, why + it??
