  1. So I really, realllly hate Protein shakes...I can barely choke them down. The Protein Bars are so thick even with tiny bites they sit like a lump in my throat. Today I found these nature valley protein bars & while they only have 1/2 of the protein as the pure protein (10 vs. 20) they are delicious! And easier to eat! They are peanuts & almonds set in dark chocolate. 6 grams of sugar. I would gladly eat 2 of these over the course of a day than 1 of the others! Yay! Does anyone see a con here that I haven't taken into consideration??

  4. Congrats! You're an inspiration to us newbies And you're gorgeous! I love your make-up too by the way
  5. I agree w/ bedhead! Go for it! You probably won't even be able to drink it all anyway. I get a small coffee almost every day with half & half in it & can't even drink half of it although I'm only a month out...but I used to chug down an extra large daily
  6. Last night I was soooo hungry dice everything makes me sick right now so I had read on the sliders thread about baked cheetos going down easy so I grabbed a bag I have for my kids & scarfed them down. 2 min later I threw them up! They did go down easy tho & tasted good so there's that I guess. Oh, and I hate this forced bulimia I'm suffering from!!!

    I Hate Eating....

I'm one mo out & I find eating torturous. I'm hungry & miserable. O am soooo tired of all mushies. I hate th actually. I can't stand the shakes so I try to get a protein bar down each day. I want to chug water but can barely tolerate sipping. I am so hopeful that like others this gets better. I miss normal food. Healthy food like salad, sushi, fish..... Fingers crossed it gets better for both of us!

    Help! Post-Op Period Gone Crazy!

I have an IUD & hadn't had my period in 3 years but as soon as I had surgery I was bleeding to the point of scary. They told me it was the blood thinners, but I'm a month out & still spotting. Hoping it completely stops soon. I loved not having it ever!!

    Almost Died Fm Vsg Surgery.

Hi Kim, I just read this entire thread & wanted to tell you that I completely believe your story & am so sorry for all the struggles you've been thru with this & Katrina. I hope that you find a new bariatric Dr that can help you. I also hope that you are able to use this site for support. I know you have not received the warmest welcome, but I have found the people on here to be so kind, helpful & supportive. I hope you find the same, as well as peace & a final resolution to this horrid situation. Best wishes, K.
  11. I'm using myfitnesspal so I'm getting a good idea of my carb consumption & wondered what most of you try to stick to? Or do some of you not keep count? Just curious....
  12. I'm already seeing some sagging in my arms & they've never been a problem area for me. Any good exercises to avoid this?? Thanks
  13. Thanks for all the positivity!! I appreciate the supportive peeps on this forum soooo much !! It's so nice to have access to people who really get it As for the differences in losing...everyone loses at a different rate for different reasons I have a high BMI so that's prob why its moving quick. Plus the daily vomiting...although I didn't throw up today...yay! I even ate Beans w/ cheese & a little sour cream when I went out to dinner w/ my girlfriends so that's super exciting So here's to all of us Jan sleevers success !!!
  14. I'm just about 4 weeks out & have really been struggling with eating. I have always had an easily upset stomach, so I'm not shocked that a lot of the food that's recommended at this stage makes me throw up. From protein drinks to soups it all makes me want to throw up...which I've done almost every day. Last night I ate about 3 oz of mahi mahi with a very generous amount of vinagarette on it for lube & ate teeny bites...got it all down in about an hour & it was the best I've felt post meal side having surgery. A couple hours later I ate some pudding & felt ill. Maybe all this processed, fake sweetner enhanced food doesn't agree with me ?? So, all of this said........what were you eating around this stage???
  15. Sorry for all the weird grammatical errors......Damn auto correct...haha.
  16. I have no advice (sorry) but o find your post so interesting because I'm about 4 weeks & I eat as my NUT told me to as far as serving sizes go, bit I have never felt the feeling of being full.....never.....I have felt hungry, but nothing even in the realm of food. Now I'm worried what's wrong with me!! Where is my feeling of restriction?? Eeek !!
  17. Hello, newbie here. I am looking for some advice or insight or encouragement. I had the sleeve done on January 28 & had no problem with the diet of liquids, then yogurt type stuff, but when I went to my Dr this week they told me to start eating soft foods like eggs, tuna, mashed potatoes, etc. I cannot get these items down. They just stick in my esophagus until I throw up. Out of fear maybe, I have reverted back to broth, yogurts.... I feel so discouraged & I am really, really hungry. I wasn't before but I am now. I am obsessing over food. I have lost 27 pounds so far so I am happy with that, but I don't want get depressed. I have thrown up daily & I just need to know it won't always be like this. I am eating broth or yogurt...no protein shakes because what I have is nauseating me now. I'm going to find something new tomorrow at GNC. Anyway, please any thoughts, comments, insight, advice.....it's all sooo appreciated. Thanks!!

    Post-Op Discouragement

Thanks so much for all the info & positivity! I appreciate it so much. I am going to really give myself more time to heal & not stress so much. I did eat a tiny slice of avocado in a bowl of Soup today & had no problems so that was exciting Does anyone have a reference or guide of any sort regarding what we should be eating when? I have what my nut gave me but just wondered if there is any standard, so to speak. Thanks again...I really, truly appreciate the words of encouragement!
