  1. I am just being curious when it comes to the port. I read a lot of people have to go in and get their port revised is that pretty normal after having the band on for so long? I am 8 weeks post op don't think mine has flipped but I do always have pain if I sit to long, sometimes my jeans bother me, and can't sleep on my stomach and that's my favorite position. I constantly thinking if I bend to much are strain myself its gonna flip.

  2. I am going on 7 weeks post op this coming Tuesday.Yay! I just want to let those of you that are going to have the surgery that's it is though getting through the first couple of weeks well it was for me. I see people post on here how they have regrets and I went through the same thing for the first week or two but now I'm over it. I am starting to feel so much better now! I do have some port pain which is weird cause I didn't have it in the beginning but I read that its normal to get some pain in that area. I have also had my first fill going for another in one week and the first went good I didn't feel any pain at all. I may only get .5cc because I have been doing so good. I started at 207.8 pre op and now I'm 177.2 I can't really see a difference but everyone else can I think it all just happened so fast and its all in my head. Well just some information for you guys. Also I love myfitness pal if you haven't joined I recommend you do its an awesome app.

  3. I'm going to say it really depends on the type of equipment that is being used just recently we started doing home studies but with the new and improved equipment so that would make a big difference. Some can be very accurate but still will not be as accurate as the sleep lab cause you have a tech monitoring you throught the whole night. Every 30 secs a page appears on there screen showing what stage of sleep you in and if you have any snoring or apnea they see what positions you move in etc...so I believe a sleep lab is more accurate but on the other hand the home studies are not that far off. If it was me I would have it in the lab. And most labs look like the have hotel rooms they try and make it comfortable for the pt.

  4. I tried doing a litte internet research and the answers are not conclusive. I did an at home sleep study (Apnea Link) in which I failed' date=' my AHI was moderate, therefore I am now scheduled for a lab sleep study May 23rd. Has anyone done both? Were the results of your at home sleep study accurate? Since my BMI is below 40 my insurance requires co-morbidities. I have high blood pressure and cholesterol which are both relatively controlled by medication. It's not that I am trying to "rack up" in the co-morbidities department but I definately need an approval when it comes time to submit to my insurance.[/quote']

Hello I think it is better if you went into the sleep lab just in case they have to treat you there. I am a registered sleep technologist and I would recommed going in to the sleep lab so that the tech can adjust the pressure settings to make you comfortable.

  5. Hey guys I signed up to fitness pal my username is jackie3112 please invite me. Also can someone let me know how this whole thing works I really haven't looked into it but have seen so many people joining.

  6. I am 5ft 4in and was 207.8 pre op now four weeks post op I'm 181. I was going through should I do it or not also but I decided to go with the surgery because even though I lost weight preop I knew I would put it back on because I have been through that many times. Now my recovery was not as easy as I thought it would be I was like wth did I do to myself for the first couple of weeks but now I feel so good. I am now am to hit the gym I even ran some today. Its your choice but like many say do your research because the band is just a tool and you need to learn how to use it. This band is not magic.

  7. It's my one month anniversary banded 14th match lave lost 24.5 lb could each much more than I should but following the post operation guidlines. fist appointment Monday at hospital so hopefully a fill won't be far away. And I will feel. On soft foods mash and minces meat and gravy but lovely after 4 weeks fill fluids. Hope everyone is feeling great as it's a long journey.

Wow your doing really good. Hope everything turns out good with your first fill. I did write my experience under fills on here if you wanted to look at it I started it with 1st fill. I wrote how my experience turned out to be.

  8. Congrats ! That is awesome. Getting excited as my surgery is 4/20. liquid diet not fun but proud I'm getting through it. Sounds like my weight is close to yours was so you are my inspiration. Also been down the road so many times and hitting the gym with less weight is always so much easier to get through workouts. You go !

That awesome so your surgery is coming up I wish you the best of luck. Keep me posted on how everything goes?

  9. I agree with using a heating pad that helped me so much during my recovery. I took my pain meds for the first 3-4 days and it really helped I don't see why it would give you more gas pain its for the pain so it should help. Also make sure you walk I would walk at least every hr for about 10min around my living room I believe that will help you. I really hope you start feeling better.

  10. Yay. I did it today is one month post op and feeling awesome. Since surgery I have lost 14.5 lbs and 10lbs on my pre op diet so that puts me at 183.2 lbs today. Now time to hit the gym this week so I can start losing some more and gain some muscle. Good luck to all of you out there. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

  11. I was very worried going to that appointment...lol..I think most of us are because you are getting poked but I so glad it went good so that way next time I know what to expect. Good luck on your fill! Hope it goes good for you.
