  1. So I am a little over 3 months out was sleeved June 4th and I am down 82 lbs can't believe how far I've come in such a short time! When I was pre op and newly post I scoured the forum for pics so I thought I'd share!

    About a month before surgery.

    The day after my surgery.

Taken today 82 pounds down and about 80 more to go!

You go, girl! You look fabulous!

  2. I can't really say I miss any food. But I do miss the convenience of being able to grab something anytime anywhere. Now I have to plan where I'm gonna be or carry food with me. I'm pretty strict on my diet right now and most places you can get a truck don't offer healthy options of the grab & go variety.

I stopped at a truck stop today and saw Muscle Milk. I thought of you, although we've never met.

  3. OMG!! I was so sick yesterday' date=' so I didn't open mail. I opened this last night and now I have to wait until Monday to confirm. You guys have given me hope. Plane ticket to San Diego has been purchased, deposit check was written. So this is just shocking![/quote']

The same thing happened to me! Just as I was preparing for MX after sending deposit, I was approved! I decided that going the insurance route was best for my pocket! Now, I can use that money for clothes and shoes! Congratulations!

  4. Thank you guys for your response' date=' as of right now I really don't plan on telling anyone until I have to or until I am actually approved for surgery through insurance. Its not that I am shamed of my plans for surgery, I just don't want to hear all the opinions. And I don't want the suggest on what I can do when chances are, i've already tried it. All I want is support without any feedback. They don't have to approve of my decision but I just want the respect....ugh <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> this is on my mind heavily...[/quote']

I took that same position initially, but then eventually had to tell a couple of my friends because I needed someone to drive me to the hospital and drive me home. I told my brother who can keep a secret because I wanted him to take me to the hospital, but he was going to be out of town for work. Finally, I told my parents. I had to have a hernia repair too so that's what I told them. But, my mother figured it out. So, I told them the truth and just said that if I was at 300 at 46, where would I be at 50? They accepted it. They have been surprisingly supportive and are proud that I had the courage to stop the cycle. I don't regret telling the people I told. The moral of the story is that it's really hard doing this alone, if you have a close friend or family member you can trust, think of telling them because you might need help.

  5. I know that I've lost weight since surgery because the scale shows it and because I have found new clothes to wear in my own closet that I had forgotten about! But, sometimes you just want to hear someone say it. I think I'm at that stage where people are staring and saying that I look good, instead of saying that I look like I've lost weight. But, the true test of weightloss all of my life has been my direct, blunt parents. So, I walk into their house today. They haven't seen me in a month. My Dad yells to my mother, 'Come see her, this girl is getting skinny!' LOL! That's my true weightloss test!

  6. Thank you do much for the encouragement! I am also going to post my before and current pic. One in the silver dress is before. I am now 230. I have gone from size 20 pants' date=' to size 16. I am blessed for my progression, so far. I just want to use my tool successfully. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

Beautiful before and after! I love, love the shoes!

  7. Amen! I have a former good friend (she doesn't realize she's fallen into the former category yet) who is the Ms. America type! All eyes were always on her. So, she attracted the men at the parties, but I had the personality to keep them around! Boy, was I the classic fat girl wingman! People always said she was jealous of my life anyway, but I think a smaller me is going to finally put a whole in that friendship coffin!

  8. Isopure? More like Isopuke!! I'm trying to find something with a lot of Protein (can't beat 40 grams) in a bottle where I also get 20 oz of Fluid at only 160 calories. If I didn't have such a tiny stomach' date=' I'd just chug it down fast. But I have to sip, sip, sip, and gag, gag, gag. Those Protein Shots are worse. Guess it's back to the shakes. Let me know if you found something tasty out there![/quote']

They are awful! I hate that Isopure and that nectar stuff isn't much better.

  9. Had my sleeve on the 4th and I'm trying really hard to be positive but it hurts so bad to breathe' date=' to move ,to laugh. I honestly don't think if eating a cup of anything in 5 days because it seems like it gets caught in my throat and chest and hurts to go down. The only thing that works is Water and popsicles!

Have not be to the bathroom since before surgery ( bowel movement). Everything smells aweful...sometimes I think this is the best thing I could have ever done so I will post positive comments then my body starts laughing at me and snaps me back to my reality!! Please tell me this will pass..just want the pain to stop[/quote']

I felt the same way. It will pass. Start walking when you can. It really helped me.
