I'm almost 12 weeks out and was told that my 40 lb loss was above average! Cheer up!

ShannonK-I hope it starts back up. I have been working alot of OT for about 6 weeks now & my NUT thinks it could be that. My body feels stressed so it is producing cortisol & slowing the weight loss down. I sit at a computer all day' date=' which doesn't help. I also have been constipated & she said that can add to it as well.[/quote']I try to drink Miralax and take 2 stool softeners a day. That helps with the Constipation.< /p>

I'm not sure what's causing it! I visit my doctor on Wed and I think I'm going to ask about it. I'll let you know.

I am almost 3 months out and I have these bad bouts with feeling grouchy! Grrrrr!!! Does anyone else feel this way? I assumed that it was all of this excess estrogen swimming around from losing weight!
-
Great job! You're looking good!

I'm almost 3 months out and I have to tell you that sliming can be more than just that watery feeling in your mouth. You can actually throw up, but the only thing that comes up is watery saliva! Now, that's gross and will really keep you from taking the next bite. I've read that it can happen with eating chicken that's microwaved, so watch out! 45 lbs down thought! And guess what? Skinny is starting to taste pretty good!

Those that have been sleeved ( my coco sisters) how did you wear your hair when you went in for surgery?? Braids' date=' wrap etc.2013 is my year....SD 11/19 Methodist Hosp in NY[/quote']
I made sure I had a fresh perm and just wore it very short. My friend that took me to the hospital kept saying, 'You might feel awful, but that hair is laid!' lol

We're so proud of you! And just think' date=' in 10 lbs you'll never see the 250's again![/quote']Thanks!

The last time I lost a significant amount of weight on my own was around 1994! I got down to about 240 doing Atkins and exercising everyday for about a year. Of course, it didn't last, but that's the last time I saw the 250's! Well, I broke into the 250's today at 259! About 44 lbs down from my highest and surgery was in August! Not what I should be, but I'm sure not what I used to be! Woohoo!

Yall are funny and OMG you look sexy in your costume!!Congrats! As for coworkers... who cares? At a meeting the other day' date=' one of my coworkers got up and announced that she found out that she was diabetic and immediately made some life changes. How much did she lose on her own? 30lbs in 6 months? What did she just eat at the meeting? A CUPCAKE??????? I was quick to judge, just like they did when I told her and another coworker that I was having the surgery.
While I proud of both of them for making changes, they are not like me. I have been through the dieting and failed diets and the surgery is what is best for me. One of them even asked if I had life insurance.. (OHHH NO SHE DIDNT!!)
Office politics are just that... a bunch of bs! Let them smirk and make stupid comments, but I bet at least one of the fat ones will have a consultation! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />[/quote']
Great point! They will definitely have a consultation!

This goes back to the debate of "acceptable" vs "ideal".Pasta' date=' rice, potatoes, & breads are are all "acceptable" in small quantities. However, they have little to no nutritional content and are of no benefit to your body. They are also high starch foods that are almost immediately converted to sugar by the body. Furthermore these high starch foods are self perpetuating, they trigger cravings for more starches. So the more you eat them the more you'll want them.
Are they going to harm you? No, not if kept in very small quantities. Keep in mind these do tend to swell in your stomach so u really do mean very small quantities.
Are they going to slow your weight loss & keep you from reaching your goals as quickly as possible? Absoloutly.[/quote']
Man, I just noticed the new picture! You look great!

Good for you! I remember when I fit in the bath without touching any of the sides of it.I thought I was the only one that thought of that. My parents live in an older home than mine and their tub is smaller. Didn't touch the sides there either. Woohoo!

Let me just, you don't understand it until you've experienced it! I had a bad case of it today! Gross!

So, one can NEVER have a beer again?
-
I have to agree 100 %' date=' beer is one thing I miss sooo much! I've had a sip here and there but I would love to drink a few ice cold ones.. ahhh[/quote']
Me too!

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.

Wonder what causes that?

5 weeks post op! I can't seem to eat much early in the morning. Does our stomach shrink overnight?
-
I think I dud read that stomach acid mimics the feeling you get when you're hungry. Good point.

You look great! I had WLS in August and will be flying for the first time since surgery in January. I can't wait to see how it feels to sit comfortably in an airplane seat.
