  1. Thank you for posting this. As a pre-op, I appreciate knowing what I may or may not experience post op. Having read about the 3week stall, I hope I don't freak out when I get there. Having read your story of the emotional side to this will help me as well. That's not to say that I won't freak out when (or if) I feel the way you do now, but I have bookmarked this thread and a few others to let me know that it's all a part of the process.
  2. Lookin GOOD! Keep up the good work!
  3. Lisa hit the nail on the head, find something you enjoy. I can't rely on working out at home. I'll cheat myself. So I need the accountability of going to the gym. If I pay for it, I will go. I just started back yesterday (I am still pre-op). I tried walking, but it didn't hold my interest. I'm not a big music fan, so that doesn't motivate me. At the gym I joined you can watch a variety of television shows if you bring your own head phones. Yesterday I did the treadmill, today the bike; both for 30 minutes. I found myself lost in the television shows and that 1/2 hour flew by. Today I added a few weights after the bike and will do them every other day.
  4. Seriously, if you are resisting working out (like I was) just take the plunge and try a couple of different things. I always forget how good working out makes me feel. Glad to be back on track.
  5. Lookin good! Keep up the good work!
  6. Since starting this journey I have been resisting exercise. I know that I need to, but just couldn't motivate myself. I've been warming myself up to the idea and researching gyms in the area and finally took the plunge today. I joined Planet Fitness. I was very impressed with the facility and the fact that they are open 24/7 so I can go anytime of the day/nite (as long as I can get a sitter). I worked out today and felt great. Why do I resist when I know working out makes me feel sooooo much better?
  7. You look BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Congrats on having such an amazing experience.
  8. Good luck with the surgery. I hope your support system kicks in when you get back.
  9. Good luck with resisting the temptation during your business meetings. I hope your two weeks fly by.
  10. Not crazy, you need to have all of your questions answered to make sure this is the best thing for you and that you are completely comfortable with your surgeon. My consult with the surgeon was one of the last appts as well. We started with a group meeting (5 of us) and I felt like I was monopolizing the questions, but I needed answers. After the group meeting, we all went into individual rooms for private meetings with the surgeon and psychologist and ended with a group meeting with the NUT.
  11. Congrats on getting your date!
  12. Hope all goes well with your swallow test. Keep up updated.
  13. I am so excited for you. Every appointment I knock off makes it that more real. Can't wait to get this show on the road.
