    Fitbit

I have it and I love it! It keeps me motivated to move. I now take the stairs instead of escalators and elevators. Always trying to earn the next badge. Definitely worth the money.

  8. Pre-surgery stall. UGH! So thankful for this site. Normally, by now I would have returned to my old eating habits, but I'm sticking to healthier choices, even as the scale decides to stay put. I know that I am loosing inches, as my clothes are getting looser. I took some initial measurements and will measure again just before I start my pre-op diet.

    Numb Feet! And Eliptical...

Happens to me all.the.time. I usually just wiggle my toes inside my shoes as I am on the elliptical. I have noticed that the tingling toes start later the more I use the machine. It used to happen within the first 5 minutes. Now I can go 15 minutes without tingling. I've tried all sorts of different shoes. It also happens when I'm on the bike, but not the treadmill.

  11. You look GREAT! Thanks for sharing your update. I will also be having a hernia fixed and wondered what that would be like. Your incisions don't look nearly as bad as I had envisioned. :phew:

What The He Double Hockey Sticks

I also bought some of the Syntrax nectar. Not sure if it will work for Clear liquids (will ask my NUT when I go for my pre-op class next week). If its not okay'd for clears, I'm sure it will be okay for full. I also bought different brands of the unflavored to mix with broths. I went on BJs Bariatrics, unjury, and Nashua Nutrition to order sample packs. When's your surgery scheduled for? I'm June 27th.

  17. I am pre-op and thought I would have a food funeral. I even planned the place and the meal. However, since I've started working out, none of those foods seem worth it to me. I work out 5-6 days a week for an hour or more. And when I leave the gym I feel pumped! I just don't want to "mess up" all that hard work with certain foods. I am 11 days away from starting my pre-op diet and I doubt I'll do anything different than I'm doing now with regards to tracking food and making better choices. No disrespect to anyone who chooses to have a food funeral, just not for me.

    Did/will You Announce Your Surgery?

At first I intended to tell no one other than my immediate family and doctors. In the last couple of weeks I have started telling people when as it comes up. Like if someone asks me what I'm doing this summer, I respond that I plan to spend the first part of summer recuperating from surgery. If they ask what kind, I tell them. I was at a birthday party yesterday and told a close family friend and my mother in law when they questioned why I wasn't eating much or drinking. I'm still pre-op, but am watching my calorie intake, even before surgery. The two I told yesterday are two of the biggest loud mouths I know, so I'm sure half the city knows by this morning.
