  1. So happy to hear! Welcome to the World of Bandsters!
  2. Wish I could pick the location of my port. It is at the level on my stomach that I "lean" on thing. Like the sink to do dishes or the vanity table when I am doing my hair and makeup. My port area is so sore from this. Does anyone else have this issue ?
  3. Yes I did! But I resisted. I know it is hard but your band could be damaged if you eat too soon. Be strong!
  4. Congrats! The start of my journey was also a whirlwind. My first appt was in mid March and I was banded mid May. Only 2 months. My insurance did not require anything but a psych eval and nutritionist consult. I have lost a total of 35lbs since the start! Good luck on your journey.
  5. I am with you on the new learning experience. I had one small stuck episode 2 days ago and then today a really bad one! It lasted about 45 minutes. But at least I do have some restriction now. It is so much easier to control the portion sizes. The only thing is I still get hungry again about 1 to 1 1/2 hours later. I go for my 3rd fill August 16. Maybe just 1cc will put me in the green zone. I hope so anyway.
  6. I have added everyone above me. If you post after me please send me a request
  7. I drink A LOT of tea everyday. I gave up sodas but I cannot give up the tea. I have to have my caffeine!
  8. Non scale Victory
  9. Hi mrspopeye........ We are band sisters ( banded on the same day ) and I got my 2nd fill today too! I also have 5.6 cc. It is like we are twin' date=' LOL. I was put on a strict liquid diet until Monday because my doc thought a 2cc fill was a little aggressive. I did not have any restriction after the first fill, so I am hoping for at least a little restriction. We shall see. my next appt is not for 5 weeks. Good Luck to you. Keep us updated.
  10. I went in today for my 2nd fill and all went well. With my first fill, (3ccs) I had no restriction at all! This time he put in 2ccs. (total of 5ccs). My doctor has instructed me to be on a strict liquid diet until Monday. He said putting an additional 2ccs was aggressive and it may take my body that long to adjust to the fill. I hope I get at least some restriction! Only time will tell. I will keep all of you updated.
  11. Before I was banded I went over all my meds I take for my RA. I do take prednisone and Mobic , which is an INSAID with less chance of getting ulsers. I take these daily. My doctor did not tell me of any concerns about these meds. I have to take these meds or I will be in so much pain! Now I am so worried. I go for a fill this Thursday and I will discuss it with him.
  12. I love MFP. My username is candtw.
  13. I am 7 weeks post op and I have the Lapband. I have RA and have to take many medications for it. I spoke with my doctor about both bands and he suggested the Lapband because in his opinion it was a little more durable to withstand the erosion the meds could cause. Yes the Realise band is more forgiving, but I personally wanted my band to last my lifetime and I have to be on my meds for the rest of my life and am willing to put up with a few pinches here and there, if that is what happens. I have had no issues as of yet with one 3 cc fill. Good luck to you whatever you may choose!
  14. I has the very same thing happen. I kept Neosporin on it with no bandage for a couple of days and the yellow went away. The scab stayed on for a few days more. But doctors advice is always best.
  15. I just added you as a friend on myfitnesspal.
  16. I think I am dong OK. I can see I am going to be one of the slow losers. And that is OK with me. I am watching portion sizes and counting my calories. PreOp wt = 227 Surgery date wt = 218 Current weight = 200.8 @ 1month post op
