    1500 Calories

I wish I could eat 1200 calories. I've gotten up to 1000 a few times but generally I'm around 800-900. I just think 1200 would be so much healthier. And it might even help my poor distressed hair.

My Scale Lies I Know It!

Mine does that when there's something under it (like a dust bunny or something) or the battery is getting low.

    Slamming A Drink...

Almost 5 months out and I can't chug. I don't have to sip but if I drink water too fast I feel kinda sick for a few seconds.
  4. As of this week's weigh in, I have officially lost 30% of my body weight. And today the scale was at 200.8. I am this [ ] close to Onederland!!! Oh how happy I am. I still can't believe this is real and it feels so good. So to Celebrate, I'm heading to the gym! Onederland, here I come!

30% Of Body Weight - Gone!

No, I don't think it's been slow at all. I have 2 weeks where I lost 1.2 pounds. That was the lowest. Every other week has been about 3 pounds. I eat kinda boring stuff, mainly because I'm afraid of getting sick. Scrambled egg with cheese or weight control oatmeal for Breakfast, grilled something and veggies for lunch and dinner, and two Protein shakes a day. I had a horrible weekend eating-wise. I went to a pool party and most of what they had was tons of potato and macaroni salad and Desserts. The only protein source was pork BBQ which made me sick. So I wouldn't be surprised if I lose NOTHING this week. I really need to figure out how to eat when I'm not at home and not in control. I didn't plan this weekend out AT ALL.

How The Heck Do You Find Creative Things To Eat?

I grill a lot. I love my Foreman grill! So I buy packs of chicken, beef, and fish, then freeze them in small servings. We use a food saver (best purchase EVER). When I want chicken for dinner, I'll grab a pack out of the freezer and thaw it out during the day so I can grill it at night. I do the same thing with veggies. I buy a bag of green beans or asparagus, take a few pieces, wrap them in wax paper, then put them in the freezer. I just take out the little bit for each meal so I'm not wasting any food.
  7. Congrats! I'm at almost 5 months and I'm down 90 pounds. Isn't it amazing how fast this has happened? I'm loving every single second of it!
  8. I just hit Onederland this morning and now I'm faced with making a final goal. To those who are now on maintenance, how did you pick your final goal? Did you pick a final number and worked to hit that? Or did you just let your body do what it was going to do and once it stopped that was it? My goal was 175 but the weight loss has been so quick with no stalls or slow downs that I'm starting to think maybe I should go lower. But I can't imagine my body at less than 175. It seems so weird and foreign to me. So what do you think? What should I do? What did you do or what do you plan to do? Thanks!

    No Support:(

Of course, maybe once you lose some weight and can start doing some freaky deaky pretzel moves, he'll come around.

Statistically speaking, it's the only way out. Studies show most people who lose their weight through diet and exercise alone gain it back and then some. The odds would not be in your favor trying it any other way. Perhaps you should google some of the many reports that show it's almost hopeless for obese people to lose weight on their own and keep it off. Maybe he'll come around? A little?

    Making Your Final Goal

See, that's part of what I meant by letting my body do what it's going to do (as long as I stick to eating healthy). Wow, 137 does seem scary but if that's where I end up then so be it.
  12. I stopped several weeks before surgery because I didn't want to deal with caffeine withdrawals while dealing with healing from the surgery. I started whitening my teeth so that I wouldn't be tempted to go back to them. I feel a million times better without all those nasty chemicals coursing through my body so I have zero desire to drink one again.
  13. That's how I feel. It's not even worth it to me. And I feel so much better getting all that caffeine out of my body.
  14. I'm actually thinking about going to the farmer's market and getting some free range chicken instead of the store bought stuff. Can't hurt to try it.
  15. Wait, you mean butter's not supposed to be white? And cheese isn't supposed to be orange?

    Making Your Final Goal

I was just wondering how other people attacked it and when they felt they were close. If 175 is my goal, then I'm pretty close to it. This whole process has been 5 pound goals at a time. Now I feel like looking a little further down the road. Or I can just keep doing what I'm doing and see where that road leads me. It's not like I'm on a "diet" and can just quit when I make goal.

    Getting Revision

Congrats! I know several people with the band and only one who's been really successful with it. Another one has constant problems and hasn't really lost anything. I'd bet my first born child she'll switch to sleeve by this time next year.
  18. I figured this is a new healthy lifestyle for me and the chemicals in diet coke don't mix with that. So I've given it up completely. A side effect of that? My teeth look FABULOUS!

The chicken soup is really good.

30% Of Body Weight - Gone!

Yeah, what she said. unjury.com - good stuff. My daily menu is boring: scrambled egg with full fat cheese, mushrooms, and onions, cooked in canola oil. (My doc said NO olive oil Canola is better. I never knew that.) lunch can be tuna fish with a bit of mayo, relish, tomatoes, cheese on 3 crackers, or grilled chicken over greens with tomatoes and balsamic vinegar dressing. dinner is usually something grilled on my Foreman grill: catfish, steak, chicken and a veggie. Last night was steak and sweet potato. Sometimes it's broccoli, sometimes it's asparagus. Every now and then I have a chicken enchilada when I'm in the mood for something a little more fattening.

30% Of Body Weight - Gone!

The Protein that I like is the unjury chicken Soup and the chocolate but most of the time I drink Premier Protein that I get from costco. Only 5 grams of carbs and 1 gram of sugar. My protein levels are perfect, so it seems to be working. I'm not sure about the stomach stretching. My guess is it can only stretch but so much. It'll never stretch back to where it was before. It's funny, I felt like the weight was coming off pretty slowly at first then all of sudden I realized I had lost 40 pounds, then 50, and so on. So I would focus on eating what the doc says you should eat, getting in your protein, getting in plenty of Water, and take your Vitamins. Also, really work on walking. You should also ask your doc about lifting light weights. Do some 5 pound bicep curls, chest presses, shoulder presses, whatever he clears you for. Any exercise you can do is better than no exercise at all.
