  1. I like a wide mix but a couple of fast ones are : The witch by the cult Another brick in the wall by korn 1985 by bowling for soup Lonely boy by the black keys Volcano by jimmy buffet Bad things by jace Everett One they fear from skyrim soundtrack.
  2. I can eat most foods. I have trouble with dry stuff, especially grilled chicken. I have to have chicken very moist or in some sauce, or i throw it up.
  3. I had surgery april the 4th and I tolerate beef well. It has to be moist if not it is a nonstarter. For me grilled chicken is much harder than beef. I have only tried small amounts of rice a tablespoon or two and it is ok. Godd luck! I would add that you should wait a bit on the steak and rice maybe 6 weeks or else you will probably be sick.
  4. I had buyers remorse but I feel so much better and am off diabetes and htn meds. It is worth it. I wish I had done this sooner. A couple of friends warned me about buyers remorse. Good luck it takes awhile but it gets better! Much, much better!
  5. I love the map my walk app. You can set it up and minimize it and use your iPod function for music or use it in the app.
  6. I hit a stall but started losing again. My nutritionist suggested increasing my calories a bit since I swim or walk an hour a day. My walk app on my phone has me burning 500 calories in an hour. Even with that I still went through a 2.5 week stall. It is natural.
  7. I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble. I hope that you will improve over time. I feel so much better and I am weaning off the last of my meds that I think the trade offs that I had for surgery were more than worth it. Good Luck!
  8. Congratulations! I hope to be there in a year !
  9. I am at 1000-1100 but I am exercising and a tall guy. The nutritionist suggested maybe pushing it up a little if I am doing extended workouts. It depends on activity level , male or female, and height and frame size.
  10. I have been in a stall for 2 weeks and I weighed daily. It has been a bit discouraging until this morning when I was down 5 lbs overnight. I have been swimming or walking and I used map my walk which stated that I burned almost 500 calories in an hour and ten minutes last night. I think the idea of not weighing every day if your weight hasn't changed in a few days is a good one. In practice for me that is very difficult.
  11. Thanks for posting. I walk or swim daily . Great information. I use map my walk on my phone as I walk.
  12. Congratulations on your weight loss so far and welcome!
  13. Congratulations! I agree with many of your points!
  14. I asked this question and the bariatric nurse talked about a CPA who drank icecream milkshakes while working and regained weight.
  15. Just try to eat whatever lean protein you can tolerate. For some reason I cannot tolerate chicken breasts if they are dry and do better with processed chicken and chicken salad. I have found a medium steak is easy as well as is fish(if not dry). I think everyone is different. Some people talk about jerky as a snack but it is too dry for me.
  16. I was down a pound this am but I am moving very slowly on the scale the last two weeks. However, I am losing inches from my waist. I think that all the exercise that I am doing is putting on muscle. As i gain muscle and lose fat my clothes fit better ,so I believe.
  17. I have been planning to add to my insurance when i have lost enough weight. i hope i don't get penalized for the sleeve.
  18. I was at a meeting and stopped for lunch at the cheesecake factory. I had a shrimp dish with rice. I ate some of the shrimp and none of the rice. Probably 70-80% of the dish was left when I finished since the portions are so huge. The waiter asked me 3 times if I wanted a to go box, I declined since I was at a hotel.
  19. My knee kills me on the right where I tore a meniscus. I was off vitamins for a four day trip and when I came back and restarted vitamins it is markedly better. A friend who also had surgery thinks that vit d is what helps. I also have heard sleep problems make fibro worse maybe you have a sleep disorder as well? Any good luck!
  20. Btw the cost that I paid was 12 k.
  21. I was at the upper edge of what anesthesia feels comfortable With for sedation. I lost weight before surgery and have done well post op. I think the limit was a bmi somewhere between 55-60.
  22. Maybe vitamin d is low? A friend who had the surgery told me he had joint pains and took vitamin d and it helped. I have had more knee pain recently I increased my vitamin d and it helped. Be careful with d it is an oil soluble vitamin and can build up so don't take megadoses.
  23. I have a torn meniscus in my right knee. It has been better until this last weekend when I was at a meeting and walked miles, at least 3-5 a day. I forgot to bring vitamins and have been off them for days. I took a couple of extra at home and the next day my knee was markedly better. I am thinking of getting my vitamin d level checked. A couple people have told me if it is low replacement makes a difference.
  24. I appreciate this thank you for posting. I do well with medium filet with a steak sauce and the portion he has listed is perfect. Lots of times I tell the waiter to hold the sides since I usually don't eat them and I hate the idea of wasting the food.
