  1. Congratulations! Improvement or resolution of diabetes and hypertension are major reasons for me to have the surgery.
  2. Congratulations! I would love to at least be able to walk the disney marathon.
  3. One of the guys I work with had a DVT with pulmonary embolus. He runs marathons and is in great shape. DVT's can occur in anyone but surgery and immobilization are big risk factors. Sorry to hear that you had one.
  4. I am so sorry. I dread flying but I have to fly for meetings. I always fly business or first class so that the flight attendants have to at least be put on a facade of decency. I an so sorry but God will heal those wounds.
  5. I am 6ft 3 and 430 lbs. I am set for surgery on april the 10th. I talked with a friend today who told me that he was happy with his weight loss surgery. He states that he hates the fact that he can't overeat but that it is more than worth it. I am excited.
  6. Congratulations! Your albumin is normal so I wouldn't worry terribly about the protein.
  7. Congratulations! I hope to do as well.
  8. This is a wonderful site and I am glad that I found it. I have battled my weight since 5th grade. I lost weight and was in great shape in my twenty's. I ran five miles a day ate a very healthy diet and felt great. Then i started post graduate training and worked 60-80 hours a week day and night. Th running left and the weight came back with a vengeance. Now I am 43 years old and overweight. I lost weight 50-60 pounds last year when I was considering the gastric sleeve and tried weight loss one more time. The old habits crept back and the weight returned. I have decided to have surgery in april and have a date set. I used to go out for dinner with the guys I am friends with and one of the guys is a bariatric surgeon. I guess GOD had this planned for me for awhile now. I have a sick wife and I worry that I have to be healthy or risk my son being an orphan. I feel a bit anxious but am committed to my decision.I have a tentative date set for mid april.
