    Incisions/scars

This is a hard question to answer, because we all respond differently. I went in thinking I was going to have a 2.5 day hospital stay, but was there 4.5 days because I didn't respond well at first and had some rough nights. I also struggled with drinking at first. That first week and half was pretty challenging for me. So, what I'm saying is, plan for more than being one of the lucky ones who bounce right back, just in case you aren't one of those people.
  2. Yahoo! I ate a scrambled egg that actuall didn't hurt!

  3. I'm just a couple days over 2 weeks post op and just started puree food. I can handle the laughing cow cheeses pretty easily, and there are a lot of recipes for those things I never knew about. I used one in a scrambled egg, with a tsp. of milk and it makes them creamy and fluffy.
  4. Yep. When ever I started to feel bad, or pressure I made myself get up out of bed and walk. I always felt better for it.

    June Sleevers! Hows It Going?

It sounds like you and I are pretty similar. I haven't weighed myself in nearly a week, last weigh it was 33 pounds lost. I'm on mushie food now, and I can't imagine eating real food yet. My surgeon also progress his patients slow, and as much as my head wishes I could chow down on real food, I know this is the smart way.

    June Sleevers! Hows It Going?

I was sleeved on 6/27, and at last weigh in I was down 32 pounds! I just started the puree stage yesterday, and am on it for 4-5 weeks!!!!! GAH! So far the only thing I've had a little issue with eating was a scrambled egg. It went down a little sticky, but I ate it and it stayed down. I've been lucky so far in that realm. I haven't had any issues with anything revisiting. ;P I'm also still struggling a bit with "buyer's remorse," but I'm holding on strong that in a couple months I'll be okay. I'm just missing normalcy right now. I was worried that something was wrong, I can take 3 consecutive drinks and it doesn't upset my stomach. I know everyone says they have to sip and struggle with liquids, but it hasn't been too bad for me this past week at all. Also, did any of you notice your sense of smell change? I swear that things smell different to me post-op.

Just Started Mushies And I Have ?

I just started mushies today. Tomorrow I'm going to try an egg. I found a recipe for a scrambled egg, add one laughing cow cheese, one tsp. milk mix well break up the cheese as best you can. Cook the egg. This makes the egg creamy, I'm thinking this will help it go down easier for us. I hope so, I love scrambled eggs.

    How Is Everyone So Happy?

I'm only 2 weeks out, so I know I'm "new".... and I reasearched the hell out of this surgery for nearly a year. Talked to 2 friends who had it done, and they too were all talking about how it was the best thing they ever did. I had a co-worker, who had major complications with his, and 3 months after he told me it was the best decision he made, despite those scary parts. So, with all that behind me, I put my fear away, told that nagging voice to shut up and had surgery. I had surgery because I'm 35 and is/was 113 pounds over weight with PCOS. I was told that I was walking down an very unhealthy road very quickly because of my PCOS. I was told that if I didn't lose weight, I would more than likely develop uterine cancer. I weighed how I felt about scary surgery and chemotherapy being a possibility. I went with the surgery. I totally still regret the surgery. I wish I had waited longer. But, I didn't. I'm focusing on my little victories as this process happens. I'm down 32 pounds. I just started the puree stage today. What I really want is a simple smoked turkey sandwich. I have confronted my food relationships. I was not really an abusive eater, I had a medical issue that caused my metabolism to stop functioning correctly. I'm just looking forward to a few months from now, when I can eat real food again, and maybe have some smoked turkey.
  11. Down 32 pounds including pre-op and just shy of my 2 week post-op mark. Holy cow.

Groupons are a type of social coupon that offer good deals on events, trips, items, or services local to your city. They have most major cities listed. There are a couple of different ones. I subscribe to three for my city. You sign up to get the emails of the daily deals. There are time limits and sometimes limited quantities for sale at that price. www.groupon.com www.livingsocial.com www.crowdsavings.com
  13. Okay, so I what are some of your goal rewards? I'm working out my goal rewards. I'm a week out from surgery now, and I just bought my first one. It was a combination of my weight loss and being strong though the process. I bought myself some goodies from Sephora! I'm thinking of writing down all these different rewards, cutting each into a strip, and putting them in a "reward jar". When I reach a goal, I get to be treated to a good reward. The jar/vase angle helps it be a surprise. Except for my end goal reward, which is going to be a day of pampering! I'm going to spend the whole day at the day spa and treat myself to a new outfit top to shoes. I'm working on putting away money bit by bit to have this indulgent day. I was never a reward with food person persay, but food was included on days that were good days. It was more like... I'm having a perfect day! I need a cupcake! It was more if I was happy I wanted to have food that I loved to add to the happiness. I've made great strides through this process so far, in breaking that train of thought, but I do believe that having these things as rewards for something that I've fought my whole life to do, are good rewards. Ok.... ideas!? I know you guys have some great ones! Goodies from Sephora, Aveda, Lush, other trendy shop I like New perfume/cologne Underthings from Victoria Secret Massage Nails done hair color or cut Tickets to an upcoming event/concert a new cd/download new shoes new top new pants new skirt new dress

OH! I love the idea of using Groupon and such for rewards! Great idea! Once I'm closer to goal, I actually have a lot of physical activity things planned, but just didn't list them as goals, since they are more life goals than weight loss rewards. I'm a hoop dancer (as in hula hoop) and this triggered a circus arts want in me. So, I'm hoping once I'm closer to my weight goal, and get some stregnth training behind me I'm going to take classes for silks and lyra (the suspended hoop).... think Cirque du Soliel.

YES! This is something I was thinking of doing as well. I am trying to figure out how much I want to work on setting aside. A friend of mine asked me that since when I hit goal I'll need a new wardrobe, and most girls don't get the oppurtunity to throw out their closet and start over how was I going to shop. It was a really good question. I'm going to TRY to shop smart, but still have fun. And for the first time let my real style shine.

Actually, I am only 1 week and 1 day post op. The first 5 days were just awful, but I turned a huge corner 2 days ago and am starting to feel so much better. I figure the best way to work through it all is to be positive and look forward to things as they come. Like now... I'm looking forward to next Tuesday when I will get to eat mushie food (aka flavor other than shakes) for 5 weeks.
