Can't Get My 64 Oz Of Water In!

Yep, anything that melts in your mouth and becomes liquid in your stomach goes towards the 64 oz. I had a hard time keeping up with everything I was drinking because I was doing a variety and the logging got crazy, so I got a 10 oz container and poured everything I drank into that container and just added a mark next to 10oz each time I finished one. Except of course jello and Popsicles, but it worked for me!

    Questions For Surgeon

What size "bougie" he uses (if you are interested in knowing that)? What you should expect to feel like right after surgery, gas, etc.? How many leak tests does he do and when does he do them? How many of this type surgery has he done? Okay, just a few that I asked mine....I am sure others will give you more ideas

You could start taking the same Vitamins you will be taking after surgery. I would also suggest calling your surgeons office and asking what they recommend?

    Upper Gi Or Scope

Yep, they knocked me out for mine. Don't remember any of it. They are looking at your esophagus and stomach to see if any problems before they go in to do surgery. Most of us had one done before surgery!

4 Days Post Op - Help!

Pain meds help with the ability to get up and walk around if you need them. If it is the pain that is keeping your from doing other things then take the meds. Walking helps with the gas and over all healing. Water intake also helps with the healing process. If you become dehydrated then you become weak and will end up back in the hospital. Take small sips and do it all the time. Hope you feel better soon! I am one of those that have liquids for 3 weeks and it's not so bad really. I do still smell food and I didn't lose my taste buds in surgery but I am not hungry so I have to tell my brain that in time I will taste some of those good smelling things again.
  22. I was on 3 Diabetes medications before surgery. 100 units of Lantus, Victoza 1.8 mg and 2 each of 1000 mg Metformin per day. I have not had any diabetes medications since surgery and my fasting sugars are between 90-120 in the a.m. and also before I go to bed at night same range. I worried because they were in the 100's but the doctor told me not to worry unless they exceeded 150. I am still on liquids and exercising minimal. I know once I start to add in solid foods and amp my exercise routine up this should also affect my numbers. My next A1C will be my proof and determine if I will need to start any meds back. Praying that will not be the case.
  23. HUGS, been there with same situation with my father! God bless! Congrats on reaching your goal and taking charge of your own health!
