Cpap Mask
Liberated Sleeve replied to urbandecayno5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was able to bring my own unit to the hospital, but the hospital does have their own units and probably prefer to use them. The mask and hose are personal since you are breathing in and out of them so instead of supplying you with one they will have to throw away they let you use your own?? That would be my guess anyway. Good luck in surgery!! -
Horrible Thing Happened Last Night
Liberated Sleeve replied to italianlady13's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
As I diabetic I am very familiar with low blood sugar in the middle of the night. It sounds like it could have been that, but a better choice would be to buy some glucose tablets (Walmart sells them around the pharmacy area) and keep them by your bed. A couple of them and within minutes you will start to feel better. -

Whoo Hoo! My First Post-Op Meal Went Smoothly!
Liberated Sleeve posted a topic in Food and Nutrition
Well I did it!! My first post-op meal of real food was today! I hate scrambled eggs so I made myself a fried egg (used tiny bit of Crisco olive oil spray), smashed it up real well with my fork. Also made a real tiny potato (mashed and blended in my magic bullet). Total food prepared was probably about 1/3 cup. I knew I wasn't going to be able to eat it all, but was counting on leftovers. I was able to eat 3/4 of the egg and about 1/4 of the potato. So about 2.5 tablespoons. Doesn't sound like much but after 3 weeks of liquids (no mushy stage) it was awesome and I was completely satisfied. I stopped after burping twice and my nose started to run a little bit! I had read so many of your accounts on here that I used that as my trigger and felt the fullness! LOVE IT - LOVE IT - LOVE IT!! -
Still In Pain

Imagine the pain if they had to cut a whole lot more area to open you up and do the surgery? It will be over soon! Mine are still tender on occasion. -
Good News & Many Questions
Liberated Sleeve replied to D1NOnlySexyLady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Whoo hoo! Almost there!! My liquid diet was 2 weeks and consisted of Protein shakes for Breakfast and lunch and a small meal with vegetables and 3 oz of protein for dinner. Snacks could only be SF Jello or SF popsicles. If I got too b*tchy I could have some bullion. (I had bullion!) But all surgeons are different it seems. I do use chewable Vitamins but have been taking pills since the day after surgery in the hospital and the ones my surgeon prescribed for stomach acid and gallstone prevention are capsules, but I also take a pill I was taking before surgery. Again, each surgeon is different. -

Congrats!! Hope your surgery is scheduled for soon! Yeah once that approval comes in - it's FOR REALS!! -
Thanks, for coming to this conclusion because your posts have helped me out extremely. I am still new with all of this and rely on the experiences of some veterans to know what I might be able to expect in the future. Some people just love to argue even if they have to type it out! LOL -

Whoo Hoo! My First Post-Op Meal Went Smoothly!
Liberated Sleeve replied to Liberated Sleeve's topic in Food and Nutrition
I know it seems crazy that they are so different. Mine moved from 3 weeks clear liquids to soft foods. So I started with between soft & pureed I guess. You can puree a fried egg though! LOL - I'm sure it won't be pretty but the taste will still be the same! -
Thoughts...
