Hey Woman!! You are doing good!!! I was not hungry for about a week after the surgery. My dr. told me I could have whatever I could get through a straw for the first week. I don't think that a milkshake, made really thin, would hurt you. It didn't bother me and my dr. told me to have as many as I want. And, I did!! Take care and I will holler at you later.

Pretty Awesome!!!!!! Congrats!!!!

You and your Mom are in my thoughts and prayers. Knowing that God will give you the strength and your Mom his healing powers. As I am sure you know, He will be there for both of you. I know that she will be OK and you will too.

I had the same problem...back pain. About 2 weeks after my surgery I could not stand it anymore and went to a Chiropractor and got "adjusted" and not a problem since. Just a thought for you to keep in mind. Hope it gets better.

Hi Rickol!! Good Luck with your process!!

Hello!! I had the lap-band done on Aug 21 and have lost 60 lbs. I would like to lose 20 more lbs. I was on meds for high blood pressure and diabetes. I no longer take any medication. I had Humana PPO and they did pay for my surgery, I had to pay $ 2500.00 for my out of pocket. However, our Humana insurance has quit paying for the surgery. So, if I was you I would contact a dr's office that does the surgery, have a consultation and then go from there. Hope that helps you.

New Here Wanting To Ask Questions

Hello to both of you! I had my surgery with Dr. Spiegel in Pt Neches. Self pay including the hospital with him is $ 17,600.00. He places a band that is inflatable around the top part of your stomach, then a few weeks after the surgery he adds saline to make the opening to your stomach smaller. This surgery is totally reversible, so if you do have any problems it can be taken out and everything will be back to normal. I had diabetes and high blood pressure before the surgery and since I have lost weight I no longer take meds for either. I would do this again yesterday. I hope I have answered some questions for you. If you have any more, feel free to post. -
I was wondering how do you know if you are too tight or just right?

I am sure my problem is the overeating..and TBH it is less than once a month. When something gets stuck and it won't go down, then it comes back up. I am gonna concentrate on eating slower and chewing more, I am positive that is where my problem is. Thanx for the congrats. I want to lose about 20 more. I want to try and lost it by August. We will see. I should if I keep loosing 7 a month. I need to change my stats, I now weigh 178-177. Each morning it is one or the other. I will change my stats once I am at 175. Thanx so much for helping me. -

I can't eat bread or chicken breast. I can eat a little rice and I just found out this week that I can eat the popcorn chicken from Sonic. I can eat frito pie and the insides of a enchirito, not at the same time. There are things that I think would be easy to eat and I try them and I can't eat them. Then there are somethings that I think would be hard and they go down pretty easy. I was just hoping I wasn't too tight, cause I surely don't want to have to have another surgery. Thanks Donali and Sue...Have a great day:D P.S. I am loosing an average of 6-7 lbs a month. -

The only time I have pain when eating is when I get something stuck. I can eat some meat, but not all meats. I do have a hard time with a baked potato. I REALLY need to learn to slow down and chew more. Have REFLUX maybe 1 a month. Can drink fluids, just not when I first wake up. So, I should be good, right? I got scared when I read another post about her band slipping. I knew I would get some good answers here:-) -
and where did you go to read that?

GeezerSue--I just love ya!! So honest and to the point!! Dr. Spiegel told me no heavy abdominal exercises...ex situps. You can have sex!!!!!!! So go get busy!!

I have had 2 fills, 1 unfill and then another fill. It is not at all painful forme. He puts a needle in your port and just adds saline. It is not a big deal at all....Good Luck

By Killeen, my cousin and her husband just moved home from there. I don't know any dr's there. My dr is about 8 hours away from there:( Hope all goes well. I bet if you contact Inamed or get on their website they can help you...

As a former diabetic, I know that stress has ALOT to do with your blood sugar levels. What part of Texas are ya'll moving to? I would call the Dr and tell him what is going on and let him decide what you should do. Hope all goes well....

I have been waiting for this long, a few more months surely won't hurt. I will be thinking of you during your surgery and thanking God it is not me. Glad I am banded....but, about your picture...want some help?

So now I am wondering, some of ya'll can eat a sandwich? Or a hamburger? Maybe I am too tight, but wouldn't you think I would be losing more weight?
