There will be 2 meetings per month, one held in Southeast Texas and the other in Louisiana. If you are unable to attend the Texas meeting please feel free to join us in Lake Charles and vise versa! The Texas meeting will be held on Thursday July 8, 2004 at 5:30pm. Holiday Inn Park Central 2929 Jimmy Johnson Boulevard off Hwy 69 in Port Arthur If you need driving directions to the Holiday Inn Park Central please contact them directly at (409)724-5000. Hello! I was banded by Dr Spiegel. If I were you; I would contact the office manager and let her know what happened. She will take care of things. If they don't know they can't fix it. But, whatever you do, don't give up. Call back and get the questions answered that you have. Don't let that stop you. Hope all goes well for you and if you have questions, ask.

I started taking birth control pills again since 3 years last Sunday. I went in and got a fill on Monday. I have restriction; but, I have not a lb. Could I not lose since I started the Birth Control pills? I have edema to my legs, so I know I am holding fluid. I was told that I will probably gain 10-15 lbs since I started taking the pill again. Please tell me that that could not be true in my case since I am banded. August will be my 1 year anniversary and I really want to have lose 30 lbs by then.. Ok maybe 15 will work. Any suggestions or comments will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Oh My I am normal!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D We are forever going to the mall and my husband said the other day, what are you looking at the woman for? and I told him that is what I wanted to look like. Then I felt like an idiot for looking at another woman. I am forever looking and saying, Man I wish I had her body!!! Thanks for letting my know that I fit in rather well here:cool:

I have had a few daquari's and margarita's and they don't bother me. But, everyone is different.

Wanted to let everyone that was banded or has plans to be banded by Dr. Spiegel in Port Neches that we are starting a support group. It will be called The TLC Support Group. Our first meeting will be on July 13th at 5:30 in the NederlandPt. Neches area. We are still deciding on a location, I will post it once we decide for sure. We will start having these meeting the second Tuesday of every month. If at all possible let me know if you plan on attending. I will be looking forward to putting your face with your screen name!!!

First of all, Donali, I am speechless!! I just read your post and my jaw is still sitting on the floor. I couldn't imagine having that happen to me. I just had my IUD out and I feel like I lost a part of me. Couldn't imagine my band. Delarla, I like your new name "portless". Kinda fits you to a T! I am sad that you are portless, but I guess it is for the better. I am truly Thankful that I have not had any problems. I go in tomorrow to get a fill. I have gained about 4 lbs in 3 weeks. I am so sorry about everyone's problems on this board here lately. All of you are always in my thoughts!!

Hello Everyone! My name is Kelly. I am from Bridge City, TX. I am 26; will be 27 on June 21st. Will be married for 9 years in Sept. Have one son that turned 2 on June 11th. Two dogs, a lab and a chihuahua. Oh and fish, a frog and a loach in a tank. I have been with the same employer for 7 years doing medical billing. I got banded on August 20, 2003. Have lost 65 lbs, with another 30 to go. Just recently had 1 cc taken out; go on the 21st to get some back in. I guess that is about all. Hope everyone has a great day!!!!!!

Thanks for the compliment. I wanted to get some saline put back in yesterday, but when I showed up at the Drs office; he was gone. I did not have an appt. I scheduled a fill for June 21st to get some put back in. I have been eating salads since I got the fill taken out. This weekend is my little boy's 2nd birthday and I don't want to gain any weight, so I have been trying to diet. Maybe if I binge on ice cream I will lose a few lbs. I just had a lady tell me that the lap band don't work....she is a very sweet lady, but boy......do I disagree.

Audrey, I can eat way too much. I am going in today to get .5cc's put back in. I have not woke up choking or coughing since I got some taken out. Joyce, Yes, I will be in the commercial. The fill takes about 1 minute and it does not hurt. Let me know how you do!! Good Luck!!

It may not make a whole lot of difference, but it should make some. I have 1 cc in there and I ate a whole nachos bellgrande from Taco Bell. What time to you to today? I am going to his office this afternoon to do a commercial. I may see you there.

Well....now I can eat anything. Even tiny bites of bread!! I am gonna be gaining weight like crazy. I am watching what I eat. I have scheduled to get some more saline put in on July 5th. I am not sure that I will be able to wait that long. I am only gonna get .5 cc's. My little boy's birthday party is this Sat and instead of losing 10 lbs, I will have gained 10 lbs. lol.....Hope all is doing well.

O.K. I will tell you, but don't shoot me. My insurance covers the fills and ufills at 100%. I don't pay anything. I was thinking about getting on my husband's insurance through his work and I called the dr's office to find out about coverage for the fills, and I would only pay the $ 15.00 copay. But, please don't hate me.

Well, I went yesterday and got 1 cc out. I had 2cc's in there and he took 1 and told me in 2-3 weeks to call if I want some more in there. He said that now that I am able to eat "real" food that I will probably lose more. I have been living on junk food. I am very glad that I did this. I can drink and it don't get stuck. I feel a whole lot better. In the mornings when I woke up I would feel like something was stuck, I actually think that my stomach was closed. I would try and drink something warm to see if I could unclog it and in reality, my stomach was actually closed. This morning it doesn't feel like anything is stuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool:

I think my problem has alot to do with being too tight. So, I would say to all of you that don't have a problem with eating or drinking before bed, keep doing it. I just could not do it anymore. But, you are talking to someone who by no means could eat a whole chicken thigh, a teensy bite of bread, basically living off of lemonade and a couple of bites of food a day...

I had another episode last night and I didn't eat or drink 2 hours before bed. So, I just wanted to let everyone know that I am going in this afternoon to have some saline removed; not all of it, just some of it. Somehow over time my fill has gave me super restriction. My last fill was on Jan 9. In the morning if I take a sip of milk, it all comes back up. I just tried to go eat lunch with my husband and child and I had maybe 3 bites of brown gravy with mashed potatoes, very thin, and 3 kernels of corn and it got stuck and came back up. I am only 20-30 lbs away from goal and figure I can lose that by exercising on my own. I don't think I could go another day like this. I thought that maybe it would loosen up, but it has not. So off to the Dr I go at 4:15:)

Yes, you can have tea; you are just not supposed to eat or drink 3 hours before you lay down....Thanks for the Congrats:)
