  2. 5 weeks post op and I'm going thru the same thing. All I can say is if you take Colace make sure and stay home. Package said it works in 12-72 hours. It had me running in less than 2 hours. LOL.

  3. So so so glad to read this. I am a little over 5 weeks post op and stuck at a 25 lb loss since about 2 weeks post op. I was just hoping I didn't go thru all this to only lose 25lbs when I need to lose 200. I can keep my head up now for a while. A friend of mine is going thru the same thing and I'll tell her too. Thanks for the info!

  4. Sleeved on 4/24 and now on purees foods but able to eat 2-4 oz at a time. I usully have a Protein shake for Breakfast, pureed chicken for lunch, another Protein Shake around mid-afternoon and then either grilled fish or pureed chicken for dinner. Getting my Water.in but.must be super diligent about it. I've lost 25 lbs post op and now in a stall.

Confessions: I ate some fried chicken today and I liked it but then regretted it. First time I actually felt full and it was nausiating. I'll stick to my 2-4 oz purees until I hit the soft food stage in another week.

  5. Mine finally disappeared mid second week. I just walked and took gas x strips. I was scared to wear any type of body Shapewear cause of my incisions.

Today I just bought a cheap piece of shapewear from Cato's just to try it out and I wish I had bought it sooner. It keeps the gas from moving up my chest and it keeps the skin/fat from pulling at the surgical site when I move suddenly or bend over. PLUS it doesn't hurt my incisions. Actually it keeps me from wanting to scratch at them while their healing. Best $20 bucks I've spent so far!!

  6. Hello all. I'm a 37 AA female sleeved on 4/24/12. Can anyone share their experience with gas? How long did it take you to get past that, if ever? What were your techniques for relieving the trapped gas? Did Shapewear or compression garment help? I also had a hiatal hernia repair and I'm super tender on the.right side. Anyone have a similar experience?

  7. I went to my post op class and drain removal. My pain is minimal . It was less once the drain was removed. I am still having a hard time getting in 40 grams of Protein and the 64 ounces of liquids. I am trying some new drinks to see if that helps. Does any one else have this problem? If I drink to fast my chest and stomach hurts.

I'm having the same issues. I get my 40 grams of protein from a 20 oz bottle of Isopure drink so it counts toward my liquids too although I haven't been able to get down over 40oz in one 24 hour period. Woulf.love to hear any suggestions to get more liquids in.

  8. Try yam noodles. You can get them in the cooler section at a whole foods/co-op, asian food store or international grocer. NO calories, you don't have to cook them, just rinse and add them to your dish. They taste just like rice noodles! A friend gave me some and I was amazed.

  9. Hello All! My is DeMarcos and I'm 23 yes old. I'm about a month away from my scheduled surgery date. I stubbled across this forum and was blown away by the amount of info and feed back I read from the members' date=' so I decided I wanted to part of this!! I'm starting my pre-surgery diet tomorrow, I'm quiet nervous about it, mainly because I'm not sure at what to eat. I'm so lost right now. Keeping carbs at only 2 a day is what's posing the most trouble for me. I'm trying to come up with a set menu for myself so I can hit up the grocery store all at once and be ready!! Im looking for breakfast ideas and lunch/dinner. I thought a breakfast protien smoothies would work best for me, but did some research on them and they had more carbs then I was allowed!! Any ideas from ya'll would be most helpful!! Thanks!!

Hi Demarcos, I'm new too but already on my pre-op diet. I use the chocolate Isopure. It's pricey but no carbs, no sugar 50 grams of Protein and it tastes good. I was having trouble still being hungry after I drank one but a friend suggested adding yogurt. I use the Kroger CarbMaster and that did the trick. I drink one for breakfast and one for lunch then a sensible low carb dinner. Probably not the most proper way, but I've lost 14 lbs in 2 weeks. I'm interested in knowing any others suggestions too. God bless!
