  1. Italian lady' date=' Give us some idea of what you ate/drank when on liquids to get your Protein in without drinking Protein shakes. Thanks. I don't mind them, but they are not agreeing with me and are causing diarrhea. You have done so well with your weight loss. Congrats.[/quote']

Italian lady, I would like some alternatives as well. I strongly dislike the shakes & powders that I tolerated pre-op.

Bmooney, I recently tried the Adkins Cafe Caramel shake & I love it. The problem is that it only has 15g of protein. However, it is very tasty! I also have Bariatric Advantage's protein elixir in white grape (haven't tried the berry). It's not too bad...better than the shakes & powders.< /p>

  2. Kendra, my cousin had the bypass in May. We have never been close, but the surgeries seem to be bringing us closer.

Anyway, she forewarned me of this very issue...so sad. She is going through something very similar with her bff.

My, soon to be ex, bff of over 20 years was very supportive in the beginning. Now, every time that I talk to her, she is annoying & overly competitive. I don't understand. I had this surgery because of medical issues. At 2 weeks & a day out, I am 20 lbs lighter & off of all of my meds (diabetes, hbp & sleep apnea). I am beyond excited! She should be happy for me...not envious!

Listen, I love her dearly but I am too old for the nonsense. I also have a new life to adapt to, so I can't worry about her issues. So, if things don't change soon, I will be making some changes of my own...good luck with your situation & thanks for starting this thread!

Sn: I think that I will add this topic to my list of things to discuss on my next YouTUBE update.

  3. Good morning everyone! I went to the mall yesterday & found a great deal that ends today.

Ann Taylor Loft has their own line of Spanx (actually made by Spanx). I purchased 2 of the tank tops. I paid 24 dollars (my phone won't post the dollar sign) for both of them. They are 40% off & again the sale ends today. I think that I'm getting two more today. They are also available online...not sure about shipping costs.

Happy shopping & Happy Independence Day!!!

  4. I had surgery on June 4th and I'm still only allowed liquids. The first time I tried to cheat and eat instant mashed potatoes the pain was so horrendous it felt like someone punched me and I couldn't breath.

You are already on real food???

Are you drinking liquids out of the Water bottle? I can't and I'm almost 4 weeks out . Water bottles make me pull in too much air. I was given one ounce cups to drink out. I guarantee you if you try sipping out of a cup instead of sipping out of a water bottle it will help you immensely.

What is it that you are having issues with? Water in general or shakes but you said food....what is the food? I would only try one teaspoon of sugar-free Jello at a time. Try sugar-free popsicles.

    Sending you my prayers.

My doctor advances you to mushies two days out. I wasn't ready, so I pushed myself back a week. I have been eating for several days now...
